IT WILL MELT YOUR FACE and you will like it.
I'm kinda worried about this game, I'm sure the vehicles will be great, DICE has always done a fantastic Job with them, but the gunplay so far looks a little..... CoDish :/
Hey guys, real life gunplay is looks too much like CoD. I don't understand what people mean by that. You aim, you click, you shoot, how different can anyone make it? Unless you mean hip firing causing bullets to leave the barrel at a 45 degree angle but we haven't seen that either.
No, gunplay in CoD is pretty far from realistic, in every possible sense.
Unfortunately, it's hard to get realistic gunplay without making the game frustrating for a lot of people, Ala ARMA or Red Orchestra, which are different styles of games. Gunplay in CoD has always been really fixed in place, sort of like you are a gun on rails. I think the gunplay so far looks pretty good, but I think it could do with a lot more inertia. Most firefights in real life (even at close ranges) play out for a minute or two, many shots are missed because it's not easy to aim in real life; especially during combat when your heart is pounding, your hands are shaking and sweat is pouring down your forehead. But that'd be make a pretty bad battlefield experience for a lot of people for obvious reasons :v:
I do hope they make an effort to make recoil a bit more distinguishable, though. Bf2 at heart used a system a lot like CS, wherin your cone of fire changes based on how much you are shooting, wheras in most "realism" shooters generally your gun fires where it's pointed, but pointing your gun is the hard part. I'd like a combo of both.. there's not much point in having ironsights if your gun just sprays anyways, but at the same time many people will have trouble compensating for heavy recoil. A bit of both would do nicely.

Spetz, would be good if you could update the OP with the two new videos. I don't want to have to find them :saddowns:
I wrote the next OP, so I'm too lazy to update the current one, considering we're only 24 pages from doomsday.
Why does every game have to be an entirely new concept? Don't fix what isn't broken, not a hard concept.
It's not a matter of "fixing what isn't broken" though. It's a matter of building upon and improving what you already got. Even the best of things start to become stale after a certain period of time if they remain the same.
I'm really interested in how far the medic's role is important in Multiplayer or..the role of everyone.
If someone pulls away the wounded mate, will it just be a shot to regain his health to go back in combat and will it just be a "general" syringe for everything.
I wouldn't mind it if they added gun attachments to the game.
Depends on which ones. There are some I can go without.

There will be no teammate pulling in MP.
I hope they keep the defibrillators. I wouldn't want to waste syringes on enemies.

Like "masterkey" or "flamethrower", uh?
Well it just wouldn't fit with the realism they seem to be aiming for, so I don't think this kind of things will be included.

Practical weapon customization would be nice I think. Something like being able to change optics and putting on a foregrip or bipod, you can make a very versatile weapon ideal for a specific role, like a DMR out of an M16.
But then again it would probably take away from what makes each player class unique in its own way, with its strengths and weaknesses.
If it was up to me I'd make a class system that allows only specific weapons within that class, but still have some customization options, like optics. Nothing ridiculous/stupid like red digital camouflage patterns, but actual functional accessories. And all the base weapons would of course be faction specific. And to be honest if it was also up to me, I'd have unlocks be faction specific as well.
Exactly. I want customization based on each class rather than 1 set of attachments that can be used by all classes.

Oh they changed that? Too bad.

Maybe defibrillators for reviving teammates but they don't recover all health, just a small portion - so then you use syringes to recover the rest of their health. If you're out, then you order the wounded to fall back for further medical attention or the like.
Day #2: My ongoing quest to find BF2 has been coming to a stop. My room has been turned upside-down, yet I'm no closer. I will continue tearing down the entire house if such becomes necessary.

My bf2 disk broke its good for setting a cup on or snorting coke now. Buy it again on steam like i did. Totaly worth it imo.
I'm so organized even my organs want to be ized.

I think they should have both, the paddles for reviving teammates and the syringe for healing them, kind of like a med kit but a lot more involved. Both could kill of coarse.

You mean you'd have to revive them, then heal them? It worked for PR, but that's way slower paced. It could provide for some problems, IE medics reviving then not healing/soldier getting revived then running away before they can get healed.
I like how PR did their healing, where you have to hold the med-pack and use it on the person instead of dropping first aid kits on the floor and leaving people to do it themselves lol
Really encourages teamwork, maybe something animated though instead of just holding the pack in front of you. Only disadvantage is you'd have medics not being able to defend themselves while healing, and I like to play medic a lot. I never really found myself running around killing people with the defibs in BF2 though, pulling out the M16 is always best option :>

I always preferred to hold the pack anyway. It didn't heal instantly, but it allowed them to defend me and kept healing them instead of all in one burst.
Wouldn't it be awesome if in Battlefield 3, certain enemy teams can use chemical weapons, as like one of the replacements for artillery? Only the commander can call down one every 10-15 minutes. The chemical strike would be dropped in by AI jets, and everyone in a 250-400 meter area would be affected if they didn't have gas masks on. People who didn't put gas masks on before the launch would have to go to a field medical station and heal.
Area denial in a Battlefield game would be a real bitch
EA's trash talking of CoD reminds me of this, strangely enough

Would be pretty fucking retarded if they didn't.
Mass destruction weapons would be insanely awesome, until your on a roll then suddenly get raped by the ungodly superweapon.
I want grenade launchers with under-barrel assault rifles.

I long for the days of the 80s and 90s military tech where not every gun has some tactic00l attachment, they used their cold hard iron sights :colbert:
I swear to god, if they make all the unlocks fucking tactic00l I'll go on a virtual killing spree. Bring back some cold war weapons as unlocks. I want a wood furniture L2A1.

And a few from WW2 :v:
And a few from WW2 :v:
I wouldn't mind that. There's a lot of World War 2 era weapons floating around the middle east left over from the North Africa campaign and numerous Soviet-backed regimes. PPSH41, K98/MG42/MG34, etc. Would make awesome unlocks.
I just hope that all the tactical/tacticool stuff is the default weaponry, and then they provide some nostalgia *vintage* unlocks.
