This game is going to set the new standard for FPS.
Wait so if I reinstall project reality I'll see 128 player servers? Or was that just a stress test on the developer end?
They are working on making a new mode to work with 128 players yes. [editline]13th March 2011[/editline]
I'm saying that IF they allowed Heli spawning in BF3, they probably have something similar to a tracer dart, and the heli hight limit would be low enough to shoot the heli with it.
I believe they shouldn't limit things, and i don't think they should have tracer darts either, just stingers instead.
If its just hovering there hit it with a Tracer dart and pow, Heli is going to die!
He's talking about BF:V not BC2:V.
BC2:V doesn't have tracers either.
BC2:V doesn't have tracers either.
Well, yes, but the helicopters there are easier to damage.
Not like any of those games has tracer darts. only BFBC1 and BFBC2 has them, not vietnam expansion. And yeah, one SVD magazine and you've downed a heli.
That is the dream MMO. A huge persistent world, with 20,000 people duking it out, and with politics and stuff like that too.
let's call it "life"
Keep fucking politics out of those things, we don't need approval pending for 4 months to shoot a guy armed with a rocket launcher and an AK on his back, while he has C4 in his hands and strapped to his car while speeding down an alleyway towards your squad playing loud religious techno over a speaker on the back of the car with C4 strapped to it.
But does he, by any chance, have any c4 strapped to his car?
Helicopters need to be spawnpoints the way they where in BF2142, I think that would solve some of the large map and 128+ ppl issues, having that and pilots that when they dropped a person off and if they get points within say 1 minuet they receive 20% of points (Obviously not taking the 20% from the other guy though)
Aslong as jumping out of a moving helicopter doesn't work like it did in Bad company 2. I.e usually spawning you infront or on top of said helicopter netting the pilot a team kill
Didn't Planetside have 1000 vs 1000 battles almost daily?
Didn't Planetside have 1000 vs 1000 battles almost daily?
Yup. Which is one of the reasons why the rumours of a sequel is exciting me. Another is the part where it's a single server where territories swap hands. Battlefield MMO so to speak.
Arghhh! This thread is in desperate need of some content :byodood:
Arghhh! This thread is in desperate need of some content :byodood:
Just wait for March 16th for the next trailer.
Too long :smith: Hungry for more content :v: [editline]Edited:[/editline] Don't mind the discussions, but needs more solid fact to back it all up.
Too long :smith: Hungry for more content :v: [editline]Edited:[/editline] Don't mind the discussions, but needs more solid fact to back it all up.
Here is content: You're driving in your Abrams and out of no where comes a car with C4 on it ramming into you and blowing you both up. BF3~
Yup. Which is one of the reasons why the rumours of a sequel is exciting me. Another is the part where it's a single server where territories swap hands.
Here is content: You're driving in your Abrams and out of no where comes a car with C4 on it ramming into you and blowing you both up. BF3~
Wow, when I finished reading that the DRRRRR... DRRRR buzzing sound from the end of the BF3 trailers came into my head.
I remember base raping in Battlefield Vietnam. Spawn on the helicopters and jump out right above the base. The yaw limit to aircraft was ridiculous in 1942/Vietnam. You could go so high up and not see the ground, that was why you could never get shot down.
Could someone explain yaw to me in relation to BF? I never understood it.
Here is content: You're driving in your Abrams and out of no where comes a car with C4 on it ramming into you and blowing you both up. BF3~
Why don't suicide bombers ever drive cars? It'd be super effective for taking down the Abrams in Iraq.
Why don't suicide bombers ever drive cars? It'd be super effective for taking down the Abrams in Iraq.
Pretty sure if a tank saw a car speeding at them that car would be kind of fucked. Plus they have those reactive armor plates or whatever they are.
Why don't suicide bombers ever drive cars? It'd be super effective for taking down the Abrams in Iraq.
Don't give them ideas! :ninja:
Pretty sure if a tank saw a car speeding at them that car would be kind of fucked. Plus they have those reactive armor plates or whatever they are.
Well tanks aren't exactly almighty IRL, those barrels are fuckton hard to turn, and you can't fire them at close range (like in for example an urban environment) And the armor isn't exactly perfect either. [editline]13th March 2011[/editline]
Don't give them ideas! :ninja:
The terrorists want ideas? How about this. A pulse watch wired to bombs, if the subjects pulse drops below 10 for 30 seconds the bombs detonate. Totally feasible and perfect for for example bank heist threats.

Also the machine gun at the top of the tank is very fast at turning, not to mention the tank would be protected so a car would never get even close.
Why don't suicide bombers ever drive cars? It'd be super effective for taking down the Abrams in Iraq.
Wait, really? You've never heard of car bombs?
The explosion from a car bomb isn't directed in a certain direction, so it would probably just shake it quite a lot, but not penetrate the armour (unless it's a large van bomb or something). There are also methods to strip away a tank's infantry protection too. Here's a little something I got from a US Army field manual regarding visibility:
An armored vehicle without close protection (dismounted infantry) in woods, MOUT, or other restrictive terrain is vulnerable to close attack. This type of attack is most likely to originate from well-armed infantry-type teams organized into armor-killer teams. (Noninfantry units may also be required to perform this mission.) Skilled firers from these teams should engage the suspension or engine compartment of vehicles that have applique or reactive armor. When an armored vehicle is buttoned up— all hatches are closed and personnel are inside the vehicle—the crew cannot see well enough to protect itself from close attacks or attacks from the flanks or rear. The personnel inside cannot see anything within 10 meters of the vehicle, and they cannot shoot at anything (using their main guns) within 20 meters.
Now I doubt that the random insurgent would succeed, but experienced organizations could very well do so, not to mentioned trained light infantry forces like Hezbollah.
Also, cars get close to tanks all the time: http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/2712277.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921F7C3FC3F69D929FDF92A0CA6BE074AE764E545A4C9DAB78B7E60DCDD2A427460A7CFF610D5B4FC25
Wait, really? You've never heard of car bombs?
My apologies for being such a dumbass and aggravating you.
