Really nice footage right there, although I felt it lasted shorter than it should have.
Can't wait for the analysis video from Gameinformer right now

All you guys are complaining about Pre-Alpha game. Its really really funny. The "Trailers" look awesome for what they are.
I really haven't seen DICE shit-talking. Are you just pulling this out your ass or have I missed out on some stuff?
BF3 better be near perfect.

I like what I saw (even if they cut-out before the building collapsed), but defending everything by saying it's Pre-Alpha is dumb.
The slow-motion aiming part will probably still be there after release.
It's the idea that people whine about, because some other games used it, and they didn't like those other games, so this game has to be bad.
Obviously that's stupid, but defending it by saying it's Pre-Alpha is also avoiding the point...
I really hate everyone complaining about scripted sequences. Its a singleplayer campaign, a lot of FPS's have scripted sequences, it makes things more interesting, more cinematic and more fun to take part in. COD, Reach, Homefront, Killzone etc... all have scripted sequences and why? Because it helps progress and keep the story flowing. They arent open world games like Fallout and STALKER, yes those games had a decent enough story, but it was slow long walks and downtime between the story missions amongst the various side missions you get involved in. And they tend to be more RPG orientated.
That and we'll have all the multiplayer open combat we could wish for when its released.

Dice is correct, though. All of the new CoDs feel half-assed and add nothing new that's worth purchasing a new game for. Activision is milking a dead cow.

Yes and no. Your right about using it as an excuse because features like the slow mo have obviously been put in there because DICE like it and think it will be a nice feature, its been put there for a reason, raising the chances off it staying in game. However the fact that it is Pre-Alpha provides DICE with a shit ton of time and feedback of such things that they can easily change or fix.
Fault line 2 was meh for me. The crawling animation and arms looked awkward. Not a fan of the slowmotion either. I will buy this for the multiplayer so I don't care too much if the singleplayer sucks, but still...
Too much handholding. This comment on RPS I agree with it:
t struck me watching that ‘sniper’ randomly blow chunks of the building away that that is the worst example of a scripted event. I get the idea, a tense scene straight out of a movie, one hit and your gone!
But when it’s set up like that, with cinematic near misses and squadmates telling you to ‘take the shot’ it takes the game out of it.
Instead of actually dodging sniper fire and figuring out where the sniper is and how to get around it, you are led through fx and given a gun and told where to point it. Are you fucking serious?
The difference is between Someone is trying to kill me oh my god and this looks cool.

Activision releases the same game every year but it is stable and has solid mechnics
DICE shakes up the formula every year but releases a buggy, laggy game that isn't fixed until several months afterwards.
If BF3 is Bad Company 2: 64 Player Edition I am not buying.
Well I liked the trailer.

"stable". Yeah, right.
I have had far more technical problems with Battlefield games than CoD, and most of the people I have played video games with tend to share the same experience.
That's one hell of a muddy floor on that rooftop...
Why are we all suddenly so negative towards BF3?
People are here complaining to much on a game that has yet to be released!!!
Stop comparing BF3 to CoD and vice versa like it's a bad thing because shit son, they are both FPS, of course there are similarities between games of the same genre.
People learn from their mistakes and I bet DICE is working on things to avoid past misjudgements/mistakes, so stop your dissappointment from just looking at a few trailers of the game and look forward to a new Battlefield experience!
Underwhelming trailer. :smith:
I like how sniper doesn't shoot the guy's head but instead shoots at you/your direction mostly (or so I think, typical AI vs player thing)

Also this.

If I was behind the cover they had on the roof I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be crawling to some dodgy looking wall.
little minor gripe.

If they don't think the game is looking like what it should be, they have the right to say it.

Of course, but they seem to forget that this game is months from release and that gives the developers so much time to polish up the game and fix things.
People here criticize the game like if it was only weeks from launch, which aggrevates me a bit.

Technically, it is "only" weeks from launch.
... many, many weeks. :v:

As long as they learn how to write a proper netcode I'm happy.

How would devs know what and how to fix? And are you implying that best way to criticize the game is after launch when it's basically too late to change most stuff?
Technically, it is "only" weeks from launch.

Technically Episode 3 is only seconds from launch.
How come that one guy was literally exposing his whole head while in crouched position? Yet the Sniper was shooting towards the player. Silly.
Oh well, WIP.

Can't hit agree harder.
That teaser gave me chills.
I find it hard to believe that one rocket shot well-placed to fly into a spiderhole in the center of a hotel would bring down the entire building.
Unless that hole was the source of explosives laced all around and about the structure.
But I agree, the prone animation for crawling was funky - seemed like he had chicken arms sometimes.

Yeah, rocket launchers are made to penetrate, not bring down buildings (even if it somehow was a HE warhead, which I'm not even sure that rocket launcher has, it still would be far to small to bring down an hotel).
