Honestly, it's safe to assume almost every game will have Launch Day DLC, or DLC soon after launch. And I hate it.

The way it was explained to me is you have to pre-order the limited edition to get it. I assume the limited edition likely contains nothing else worth having so that would defeat the purpose.
Yeah, might be skipping on BF3 until the price comes down if this is the case. I have no intention of buying a $60 game with DLC at launch.
Demize said when it was first announced that every pre-order is automatically Limited Edition, and AFAIK the Back to Karkand pack is the only thing that separates it from "regular" edition.

Thus why I said [B]I[/B] would like to see the MP. I don't care about toher people's hype, I just want to know if the gameplay is good or not. I'm probably going to buy the game anyways, when I buy the game after release is defined by how good the MP gameplay looks (once again, I don't mind seeing bugs and WIP stuff, but I guess others do).

Dunno whether to bother pre-ordering this myself. I would love to, but recently I seem to be having a hard time sticking to games like this long enough. I've started getting more enjoyment out of short stints on Just Cause 2 for example.
I think its safe to say it will definitely be on steam. Probably by the end of summer tho.
Does EADM have horrible DRM compared to Steam?
EADM doesn't have DRM. It is a download manager. You can play games you downloaded using it without actually having it up.

No, but the only time I had to install EADM content on another computer was years ago for 2142 so things might have changed, or it might be on a by-game basis.

It's like Steam boiled down to the download and library list. It has a store page but it just links to the EA website.
Personally I am going to wait to see if Gamestop or Steam have some kind of exclusive bonuses. Every pre-order is a guaranteed limited edition and it's not like they are going to run out of disks.

Yeah this, I preordered BC2 on my 360 from gamestop so I could get the 74u early.
Then once everyone got it they used it endlessly and I got sick of it.

What's NOT DLC about it? It's laughable enough that Vietnam didn't count as DLC, but this is just plain thick.
Back to Karkand is what console people call "On-disc DLC" (except that on PC having it on the disc is just asking "Hey guys go ahead and unlock it yourselves"), it doesn't necessarily imply that it's already on the disc, but that it's already made and ready and the only reason it's not included in the game is to make more money.
Which is what people hate, it's not something developers worked on after the release of the game, it was already done.
