It's not BF3 without jets.

I'm not gonna say I outright enjoyed being blasted to hell by jets and helis but I wouldn't trade away the aircraft portion of Battlefield for anything. I almost never play a pilot role but just the presence of it really raises the game to another level and I can almost tolerate being pounded into the dirt just because how fucking awesome the concept of mixing multiplayer aerial and lowlevel ground combat is.
Opened this thread and this song started playing

Instantly reminded of Dalian Plant.
This is gonna be good.

And the satisfaction of hitting a jet with an RPG is almost unimaginable.
I love how they say "No Windows XP support!" and "DirectX10+ only!" yet in the same breath state that the game is going to be available on the Xbox360 & PS3 which are essentially just really crappy old DirectX9 systems anyway...

The Xbox 360 actually runs a DirectX 10 system, while the PS3 runs a totally different API.
That being said, I still agree somewhat.
They need to make the guns on trucks aim freely from the rest of the vehicle.
Can't hit shit in BC2 with all the bumping around.
I know, I always wondered this. In real life the turret actually has some sort of self balancing shit that keeps it still when the vehicle is moving. Same concept is used on a roulette wheel. Yeah I'm a history channel nerd.
Anyway, I feel like a dick elitist for saying this but ... BF3 should be PC exclusive! Fuck man ... putting BF3 on consoles is like putting Freddy Kreuger in a romantic comedy ... it's just not his place.

No it doesn't. The XBox 360 runs on Direct X 9 and the PS3 runs on OpenGL ES 2 which is equivalent to OpenGL 3.1 on the PC.

I confirmed this, consoles suck more then I thought.

Awesome awesome awesome!
I don't see how promod made Cod MW better, it's not more realistic atleast, promod is just decreasing graphics, making sniping easy mode and taking away the realistic sway and taking away effects. It should be called noobmob instead of promod.
And here was me thinking all along that it was made to help cater for those who enjoyed more of a challenge in gameplay and professional leagues?
Removing Perks, and other stuff so that the game is completely equal on both sides, so the game is determined by skill and not by who can tank the most bullets while running in with a P90 killing 10 people.
Figured I'd bump this for those that don't know, as apparently something big, Battlefield 3-related, is going to happen tomorrow.
Needless to say, I'm excited. As long as it's more than 40 players per team, I'll be happy.
Some Type of Battlefield 3 News Tomorrow (Friday) Thursday, 3 February, 2011 at 10:45 PST
Something Battlefield 3 seems to be planned for tomorrow. Tweets by various DICE developers have been building hype. Battlefield 3 is suppose to be featured in the German gaming magazine Gamestar, but won't be out till February 23 at the earliest. The official Battlefield 3 announcement is planned for March 1st.
Update: If you look at the whois record for Battlefield3.com you will see the DNS was last updated yesterday (Feb 3rd). If I remember correctly the website used to just not resolve at all. Now it directs to a 404 error page on EA.com. Just a guess, but we might see the site go live tomorrow.

You guys ready for tomorrow? You sure? Really really sure? #BF3

Tomorrow is going to be rad. That's all I have to say about that!

All I want is BC2 with better graphics and some improvements to the glitches.
I hope to god they use this theme again:
It's by far the best battlefield song and it's one of the greatest video game OST's i've heard.

In my opinion, that's way too iconic for the Battlefield series to be left behind.
Watch, in the teaser tomorrow, we'll get a cool new version hopefully.

Not really.
The 360 uses something halfway between DirectX 9 and 10. It's not strictly DirectX 9.
The PS3 uses some sort of strange OpenGL derivative that I don't fully understand.
All I want is BC2 with better graphics and some improvements to the glitches.
Well hardly anybody else wants that so you're out of luck.
I hope we actually get a true sequel and not a Bad Company knockoff.
Though, I'm still disappointed that they're sticking with the modern warfare rather than moving forward or even going backward.

More like a BF2 with better graphics and improvements :buddy:.

And new features :argh:
And new features :argh:
Did BF2 need more features? I don't really think so. Perhaps small non-gameplay altering details would be neat, but the core of BF2 stood perfectly well on its own and didn't lack anything in particular.
I'd enjoy doors you can open without shoving a knife through them or shooting them repeatedly.
Naval warfare would be an awesome addition. One of the reasons i loved BF 1942.
