I was going by this teaser

It has the tune, except it's all bzzz bzz bzz bz z
Well, if it's there then I probably can't hear it because I have a cold and as such it has affected my hearing quite a bit.
Need to start saving my pennies for a new PC.
Dedicated servers?
Dedicated servers?
Yeah, I hope they just release public binaries (like Homefront) like they used to. I already pay for a dedicated machine to host GMod / TF2 / MTA, I'm not going to rent separate game servers from 'EA partners' like they do with BC2.
Now we just need war blimps
Battelfield already has them, their called Titans.
I hope it will be even more modable than BF2. All those sexy mods, especially PR and FH2.

Hopefully this is good omen for PC. But whhyyyy do they have to copy the Bad Company box art - a guy standing in front of a giant red 3 would be fine for me.
Pretty sure they are using the same art style because it's using frostbite. That's something I read. Though that seems like a silly reason. It's nice boxart, but I'd like the giant number.

I don't think that would be the reason. Battlefield 1943 was on Frostbite and it didn't use art like that. I'd just say that they liked the art style they used on BFBC2 so much they thought they'd re-use it. Although if this is the case it makes me wonder how much else they brought through from BFBC2.

Another background I found.
I recall some fellow at Dice called Van Dyke said that the frostbite modding tools just aren't finished yet.
This was quite a while ago, so they should be out for BF3 or at least a short while afterward.
He did not say that they were not releasing them, but only that they weren't finished.
They better nerf jets and helis.
Limited flares, longer reload times for the weapons, etc
Also bring back naval warfare.
They better nerf jets and helis.
No!
Also bring back naval warfare.
Yes.
Oh boy, so buying MoH pays off after all!
Also, I hope there is some map set in Berlin :buddy:

Oh god the jets, yes.
no more space shuttles with infinite ammo and instant take-off please, that ruined BF2.

This is warfare son. They can do whatever damage, aslong as they're able to be countered, like personal AA launchers or more SAM sites.
Then it's fine with me

You obviously haven't played Project Reality. If you had you'd realise how RATSHIT the AA is in BF2. Boost up its lock-on range a little bit and the skies will be forever cleared.
When on a stinger in BF2 I rage HARD when I have a visual on a jet, but cannot lock onto it. PR handheld AA is glorious. Half-decent pilots know exactly where they are in range of stationary stingers and avoid or easily bomb them. If AA is made portable or man-portable they lose the advantage and the playing field is levelled. The AA tank in BF2 is also too uncommon. Too few maps have them to counter the many jets, or enough of them. Jets do deserve the ability to utterly dominate the ground if unopposed, but it shouldn't be so damn hard to get something to combat them.
I am a near-dedicated AA man in BF2.
AA's a good job mate. It's challenging work. Outdoors. I guarrantee you won't go hungry because as long as there's two people left on the planet, someone gonna want someone bombed.
I'm not a crazed gunman, dad. I'm an AA man.

Oh yes, and you have to hide like a ninja. Yes, you and your 28 tonne Linebacker.
If you don't sneak about and keep moving, you are dead on the jet's next passover.

There is no feeling like the feeling you get when you save your squad from a Havoc in PR. Incredible stuff.
Consoles limited to 24 players:
"UPDATE: 64-player multiplayer is confirmed for PC (EA says 24 on consoles, so get to upgrading!), as are jets and prone, a Limited Edition (contents to be revealed soon), and finally, a full single-player and co-op campaign."

Oh it just keeps getting better.

PS this means the Development is Heavily stacked towards the PC being the Defacto version, this in turn means the glorious PC gaming master race is going to get the sequel we, and the battlefield series, deserves.

I think this is appropriate.

Probably means console versions get the boring smaller maps within the big ones BF2 used to have.
Iron Gator wasn't quite the same when people weren't storming the lower decks with speedboats.
Well except the 64 player limit..It would be nice if in the mod tools they allowed 128 players, though I highly doubt thats possible with the Frostbite Engine 2 due to engine limitations possibly.

Everything is possible with mod tools.
I know it's extremely early to even say but if anyone were to take a guess what do you think in your mind would be an optimal setup to run BF3 on max?

Project Reality finished testing 128 player servers, it worked. Now they have to make maps work for that amount of players and fix some little bugs.
So basically anything is possible if they provide the SDK for BF3.
