What if for big buildings it creates a blast of a debris cloud around as it comes crashing down, obscuring vision?
Yeah, I'm prolly gonna have to get a new processor for this. At least I have time.
Goodbye XP :smith:

I'm hoping that all the maps will start out completely clean and perfect.
A blank canvas to capture all the mayhem and all the destruction that would ensue.

OP change "There is a limited edition of the game – it comes with an extra map called “Back to Karkand”" to "There is a limited edition of the game – it comes with 4 extra maps (including BF2's Strike at Karkand) along with new vehicles and weapons"
Nice OP.

 No dice said they're going to make all maps look like a nuke was dropped on them before hand because they don't think anyone is worthy of having fun with destruction.

Actually the vehicles and weapons which come with part of the Back to Karkand pack are from BF2, so I wouldn't really consider them new.
The Battlefield 3 Limited Edition includes Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand at no extra charge*
This themed expansion pack features four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imagined with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals. Completing the package are classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new achievements / trophies, and more. For those who don't pre-order to secure the limited edition, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion content will be available for purchase approximately one month after the game's release.
That's all the text from the leaked poster for the limited edition.
I would just like to randomly add that I hope they have a vehicle crush system similar to Prototype's, well well as maps with enough cars to make sexy usage of it.
wow, so they already have an expansion and the game doesn't come out the till the end of the year, just include it with the game jeez
trailer woulda been a lot cooler if they hadn't announced BF3 already

can you guys imagine having sniper wars in New York City ontop of skyscrapers and having skyscrapers being demolished :v:
One other thing, the Day one DLC is EA's new tactic to thwart people buying used copies (if you didn't already know).
So as the name states Karkand is in there, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Gulf of Oman is probably in there too because, come on, it's fucking Oman. Wake island could be another possibility, because that fucking map is everywhere in the battlefield series.
as for the forth, I have no idea,I have fond memories of basically all the original maps.
[sp]I just tried looking up ones that I specifically enjoyed but I had a nostalgiagasm and realized that ALL THE FUCKING MAPS WERE AWESOME, ALL OF THEM. Ok Except Operation Clean Sweep because of the fucking jets dominating the map all the fucking time, but when that didn't happen it was an ok map.[/sp]
Oh and something odd I just noticed, the DLC poster only says PC as a platform, which could mean the limited edition is PC only.
Fix'd the thing about the limited edition by the by.
My friend reckons they're going to include a few remade BF2 maps. What I would give for Iron Gator 2.0...
[editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
Not if you had a zipline and grapple hook! I hope they're included...

Also, I really really hope there isn't generic heavy metal loading music like you know, in every single other military shooter nowadays. People liked

for a reason - it actually has a tune!
That theme isn't anything special outside the fact that it fit in BF2 really really really well.
i'm gonna be the annoying infantry squad leader douchebag that hides in bushes and kills everyone
and has soldiers coming out of his asshole
How could you all forget the menu music!

i hope they release an SDK and don't give some lame shit excuse like with BC2
Forgotten Hope 3 on BF3
I love nice urban settings, fighting in the rubble, sniper in a window and road blocks. For some reason urban settings that are somewhat destroyed are just a unique setting.

As a medic, I will drag my wounded teammates to the worst places possible. :v:
If they have Gulf of Oman as a part of the limited edition I would die from happiness

I still remember my first memories of 1942, I was 11, Trying to fly a plane on the German side on Kursk, I kept smashing into the trees at the end of the runway.
Damn those trees.

I would be happier if they had it in the normal edition, even though I'm buying limited.
