Nice to see that they're following in Crytek's footsteps with their real-time global illumination.
I'm sure Dices thought process is people hate being revived into the middle of a firefight just to be killed again literally seconds afterwards, without time to even aim. But if the field is so hot that they get shot as soon as they're revived, how would you be able to drag them? You'll get shot too.
Good teammates who will shoot back.
Paris and New York, oh my!
Explosions throwing you around :woop:

If your team is good enough and they actually play as a team, maybe they can cover you.
Really it all adds up to being a team.

Ninja's :argh:
Hopefully it won't have a silly single player involving terrorists and cliched voice acting and men with beards.
I finally figured out why I loath Conquest In BC2, even though it's the bread and butter game mode of the battlefield series.
ALL THE FUCKING MAPS ARE SMALL ASS CORRIDORS THAT DON'T GIVE YOU ANY ROOM TO MOVE AROUND.

And I hate how most of the maps are the bases in one line instead of being spread out.

this is exactly what I ment.
I like my open maps. They're fun.
I really hope there are no attachments/perks/all class weapons, blurs the line between classes too much half the damn time.
To be honest. BC2's hit detection is way better than BF2 for me. BF2 is like "Shoot next to them and you'll hit them, but if you shoot at them you won't" Which made medium to long distance semi auto fire worthless to me.
I know what you mean, it was quite frustrating at times just not hitting the enemy. On the other hand you could avoid it altogether by just picking servers in your area to play on. BF3 will be so popular that this will be no problem whatsoever. Personally I'm still frequenting two servers run by some group at a university in Sweden and I don't get this problem there.

I hope theres atleast scopes and things like that, just not silencers and shit, only Spec Ops should have that.

BC1 had some really nice maps. I hope the BC maps are ported to BC2 (2 were).
I can't fucking take Punkbuster. I really can't play BF2 thanks to it.
Play with bots. All maps are supported if you use the All64 mod.

Maybe DICE added in a duration of time where it took 5 seconds to revive a person and you would be defenseless while doing it, hence adding in dragging bodies. What sucked in Battlefield 2 was if you wanted points, if you wanted to be useful to your team, if you wanted to win, medic was the only answer. Have 5 Assault vs 5 Medics? 5 Medics will win guaranteed since they could keep revive spamming. Medics were far too effective in Battlefield 2. All of the other classes were useless in terms of importance.

Maybe reviving a teammate requires more than a quick defib charge this time around.

Like BF2.
Now, BF2 won't even boot up. It just crashes at "First Time Installation", even though I reinstalled BF2. Maybe it's because I'm running SLI? I wasn't last time I played it on this PC.

While I agree that Medic was the most effective "all-squad class" of them all and that the insta-reviving was vastly overpowered, you really can't say medic-only squads are as effective as mixed combinations. Put one armored vehicle into the game and the medic success saga will be over before they can say "You will respawn in 15 seconds". Medic is my most played class and I can tell you it's NOT a good choice for capping flags. Assault is somewhat underpowered anyway; instead take 5 Supports or 5 Antitank and the victory is yours, too.

Shouldn't make any difference, BF2 should just ignore the fact that you're using SLI if it doesn't support it.

Ah, you need to remove all remains (i.e. registry files) and then reinstall.

Then it's gotta be something software wise. I'm also using a new monitor, but that means bugger all, save the USB ports the monitor has built in.

No. No red dots/ACOGs, shit like like that is dumb, just keep the accurate assault rifle just that, an accurate assault rifle, not an automatic sniper rifle.

Hmm. I should note that it's on STEAM, if that changes anything at all.

Verify your game data maybe?
I got it retail, so I can't really help; I've never heard of this problem.
Hmm. I should note that it's on STEAM, if that changes anything at all.
Nope, I don't think so. Just go ahead and delete those registry files and your BF2 my documents folder. Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information and delete the folder with the same name as the BF2 registry crap.
