I don't know of it's been said yet but that xbox mag snip was incorrect info about bad co 2 before bad co 2s game play was shown.
Likely.
That fucks up the huge scale WW3 feel so badly.
I hope it's like the original Battlefields. No regenerative health, more team work. And less like Call of Duty.
I want 64 players though I am worried that the maps will be designed for the console version amount of players, shit might get crowded. Regenerating from 1% to 100 in a minute works great because you'll never be out of action until a medic finds you because you failed to activate your parachute in time.

It's not super fast like CoD yet it's slow enough to feel like forever when you are in the heat of battle looking for a moment to breathe.
Im still waiting for Battlefield 1943 for PC :colbert:
BF2 was my favourite game ever, and has been my favourite game series I have ever played, coming close to my love for Metal Gear. I think like a lot of people, I'd just be happy with a next gen remake of BF2 with updated engine, graphics, sound, the lot. And the same classic maps we grew to love. Still, highly pumped for it and cant wait to get some more info on it. Just please let it be more Battlefield, and less Bad Company, not that they were bad games, im still loving and playing BC2 to date...but its not the Battlefield we all know and love. God I loved Mashtuur City and Karkand. But if they dont include Wake Island...well then WTF.
If jets are back in BF3, I hope that they really don't make them overpowered as hell again. How about making AA systems more capable? It was impossible to shoot down a jet with any of BF2's SAMs.
For the love of god I hope they fix the grenade spam and I hope there are no claymores. Both of those ruined the game for me half the time.
Fucking this. So many games have been ruined by grenade spam. I swear last time I played on Karkand only 10% of the kills were done with firearms.
L85 medic is best anti-sniper :buddy:
Too bad that once Special Forces was out everyone went for medic with the G36E and the L85 felt like a pea shooter in comparison. [editline]9th January 2011[/editline]
Hmm before this thread i didn't know it was going to be a sequel to BF2. I heard somewhere it would be WW2 related but rumor was bullshit apparently.
I would love to see a break in the "WWII America-Vietnam-post 1991 Ultramoderns" stuff. How about Korea, the Six Day War or the Fulda Gap for a change?
I want to play as a Bundeswehr soldier.
I have such high hopes for Battlefield 3, BF2 is one of my all time favorite games.
I read that BF3 will be on the frostbite engine in the OP and I cried a little. Sure I love BC2 but the frostbite engine blows. Lag compensation is the worst. They have stated that the frostbite engine will never support mods :\. I doubt the frostbite engine will support planes.
It's their engine. They can make it handle planes.
Just like how they can make it modable. O wait...
1943 had planes

Just like how they can make it modable. O wait...
Why not?
1943 had planes
DERP. lol yeah totally forgot about that game. And the fact that i play it every day for something to do.
Just wondering, is there any way to obtain the unlocks from the now-bundled-with-BF2 booster packs? I remember players buying them being given free unlocks to obtain some of the new weapons included, but the booster packs are no longer for sale in retail as far as I know. I re-bought BF2 bundled with the packs on Steam but don't think I have enough rank levels left ahead of me to enable me to obtain every weapon even if I keep grinding.
I'm fearful that, given their technology, they'll have to make super-small maps compared to the scale of BF2. Even with 64 players and the rumored amounts of vehicles I'm afraid they'll make it overly geared towards infantry.
Hopefully it won't end up like BF2 and need mods to be playable online.
Hopefully it won't end up like BF2 and need mods to be playable online.
BF2 was an awesome online experience.
I hope it's like the original Battlefields. No regenerative health, more team work. And less like Call of Duty.
You mean by teamwork, chucking grenades at the enemy base simultaneously?

I'll buy it. No questions asked. I am buying PC BF3.
BF2 was an awesome online experience.
I got it not long ago and all the servers I went to were just grenade spam, bunny hopping, and going prone constantly. I mean you might enjoy that but in this case I'd rather just not play it than join them.
There will be vehicles in Battlefield, but I want there to be an option to disable them too. Varied combat is fun, and I enjoy infantry only sessions after being dominated by a jet for a rage amount of time on another server.
How does limiting gameplay make it more varied? (Here's a tip: It doesn't.) Jets are known to be OP in BF2 that's a balance issue not a vehicle issue. The correct solution is to make a selection of tight spaces where vehicles are impractical.

But the booster packs only added new factions and maps. They were already included for free in the latest BF2 patch.
I hope by unlocks they don't mean red dot sights and that stupid shit. I hated that CoD weapon modding nonsense.

That's basically what variation is. It's something different, and if you disable vehicles you get a completely different type of combat.
I'm looking forward to 64 player or more multiplayer matches.
I hope they don't limit the amount of players and make it depend on how much the server can handle. And the map. Arma2 style. :smug:
I hope they make it easier to kill. I mean seriously I'm a big BC2 player and it usually takes like 10 bullets to kill some one with my engineer weapons. The fuck? It can even take that much from a assault class weapon as well. They need to fix this.
