Your class list is maybe realistic but it's bad in gameplay. Support sounds like "I have a huge gun, infinite ammo, some other goodies - fuck you guys I'm the best class" And Medic is like "I have a small SMG and a medpack, which won't help me much when some man-tank with LMG will shoot me dead in a second" Which class would you select?
well they won't all be running around with M60s, we all know what happens then. the MG I envisioned would be slightly less powerful per shot and less accurate than a rifle but have a higher rate of fire and a massive mag, a suppression weapon, good for crowd control and keeping the enemy's head down. and what I meant by "other goodies" is some kind of support item that helps when your in the thick of it, I haven't figured out what though. I was toying with the idea of giving him the mortar designator but then realized that it's much better in the hands of the recon class for the exact reason that recon guys tend to stay back from the fighting and have good overlook positions so they have a bigger picture of the battlefield, hence they would be better at marking targets. I have no idea what to give him now.
Expecting them to make a fully functional carrier is expecting them to suddenly make BF3 a follow-up to 1942. It's not gonna happen, for you need to take every word they say literally - they said a sucessor to BF2 - and that means a high chance of no-nos. I mean look at 2142's titans - sure they worked, but they were coded horribly wrong. Ever fought inside one while it was moving in a full server? It was damn near impossible to aim and every hallway was defended by grenades and infinite ammo, and it generally sucked ass :v: Sure titans were fun, when they were locked from moving and in low player counts - but I can hardly accept that this new "frostbite 2" engine can handle a moving aircraft carrier on a full server. Batlefield has been known for horrible netcoding and hitbox detection since BF2 :colbert: Whoa, we need a pessimistic rating

I am staying fairly neutral to this, I would love it if it provided everything we ever wanted (flying, tea-making toasters exempt). But it won't, we all know it. It would be a nice thing to have a real Battlefield though, so I can't complain. The only thing I fear is prone, they removed it from BC2 because it's a dick to hit people in prone at the ranges you get in BC2 on consoles, they left it out on PC and it worked fine, it made players spotable and hittable, while still allowing them to keep some cover through crouching. Prone in BF2 is a great example, if someone with a sniper rifle, decent aim and a bit of patience goes prone, you will have a hard time actually finding them, let alone killing them. When they are camping your last capture point that is the worst experience ever.
Have the Commander find them.
UAV/Scanning is one way, sure. But killing them is the next pain in the crotch. If they are on the crest of a hill your guns will be useless, and if your last capture point has no aircraft you are shit out of luck. I don't think a commander will enjoy using artillery on one guy either :v:
Have the Commander find them.
...Was just about to mention commander spotting. If a commander does his job properly he'll spot the enemies hiding in prone position in a bush or on a rooftop, possibly even send a barrage that way.
why does it matter if it's the last point
why does it matter if it's the last point
Always make that last push, you never know how well it might turn out. Don't just give up and surrender because they got to your last point. Try your hardest to fight back and hold it.

Honestly though, prone enemies at range is not nearly as much of a problem as some make it out to be. Sure your enemy can camp nicely with a minimal profile and peg your guys from half the map away, but you can do the same back. Snipers are quite underpowered as it is, they're really the easiest enemies by far to counter if you just know their location. Dolphin diving is the only real gripe I have with prone.
I like how in the 1.5 patch they said dolphin diving was gone, yet I barely see a change at all.
I like how in the 1.5 patch they said dolphin diving was gone, yet I barely see a change at all.
You get a bit of aim deviation and that is it really, nothing stops you from doing it, it just makes it a tiny bit harder to hit people.

Constant Scanning, UAV over hotspots, reporting Armor, Snipers, and even individual Soldiers closing in on a point. It feels real good when you spot a couple Soldiers coming up on 1 of ours who's capping a point lone wolf, and he spins around and downs them both. You feel like you've really helped, because had it not been for you, that point would have been lost. Even though he's alone, I'm still looking out for him the best I can. I'm looking out for everyone the best I can.

Am I the only one hoping for no Killcam? I don't like hardcore in BC2 but the only thing done right about it is no killcam.
Am I the only one hoping for no Killcam? I don't like hardcore in BC2 but the only thing done right about it is no killcam.
I agree with you. Killcams can sometimes be quite an unbalancing feature.
I agree with you. Killcams can sometimes be quite an unbalancing feature.
Yeah, it just kind of takes sneaking or keeping your load out unknown so they can't counter you straight away and throws it right out the damn window.
wouldn't it be cool if the commander view had a live feed at every zoom level?. of course rendering the entire map at once might be a little...strenuous.
wouldn't it be cool if the commander view had a live feed at every zoom level. of course rendering the entire map at once might be a little...strenuous.
I thought he already did in BF2? Or did that only happen at the closest zoom? It's been a while since I've been commander on BF2.
I thought he already did in BF2? Or did that only happen at the closest zoom? It's been a while since I've been commander on BF2.
only at closest, the rest of the time it was a picture of the map.
I thought he already did in BF2? Or did that only happen at the closest zoom? It's been a while since I've been commander on BF2.
Only at closest, at second and third zoom it was just the map.
wouldn't it be cool if the commander view had a live feed at every zoom level?. of course rendering the entire map at once might be a little...strenuous.
Always thought that was a tradeoff thing, with just the regular map you can put a lot of stuff down at once with a lot less accuracy, but at full zoom you can do it with much more accuracy but cant do much at a whole lot of different locations.
Hey guys, look what I just bought out of nostalgia.

Having a view of all the destruction and that Urban map that you could kind of make out in the teaser that had fires dotting a cityscape, I just think that would be cool as fuck seeing that from above and it doesn't really fuck with anything. It'd be a nice touch.
Will I be able to wrench a tank to death
