Will there be achievements for the PC version of Battlefield 3? BC2 didn't have them which is the only reason I ask.

I swear, the enemy the US is fighting had better be China or Best Korea, I'm sick of killing generic Russians in every game ever Alongside the MEC, too (Has it been confirmed they're in the game?)
I swear, the enemy the US is fighting had better be China or Best Korea, I'm sick of killing generic Russians in every game ever
Do you not play BF2 or something? You only fought against Russians in like, a few maps in the SF ep. Otherwise the only anti-us sides would be MEC or China (PLA) in vanilla, and if I remember correctly (haven't played SF forever) insurgents were also in SF, and some others.

i hate you battlefield 2 hours in and its still not done and i still have to apply 1.5 patch which has a chance of "CRITICALLY FAILING" again [editline]6th February 2011[/editline] welp, failed to install the patch again. maybe its a bad link, but EA's supplied links are all gone and whenever I try to install it again it says "you are up to the latest patch"
Anyone else getting invalid cd key issues with BF2 on Steam?
I just tried this out, it's pretty cool. I think the wallpaper is a bit too high, though, but that might be my resolution. I like it - nothing revolutionary, but it's nice.
Possibly, either because I picked only the second-highest resolution wallpaper or because I set it to fill the screen (as opposed to scale it down and apply black padding). Quick question: (and sorry if this has been answered already) I bought MoH and I got the whole EA Gunclub thing, but then I sold my MoH because I didn't like it. Can I still get in on the beta, or do have to have the MoH disk?
It's probably in the gun club
Can't wait. 2011 will be an awesome year for gaming.
This game is going to rock. I can just imagine a night time New York map with bullet tracers flying everywhere and armored vehicles plowing through road blocks, mailboxes, and street lights/signs.
Another thing I hate about Bad Company is the lack of firemodes. In BF2/2142 you could switch your assault rifle to semi-auto and actually be able to hit targets relatively far away.
Or single shot. God I loved single shot. [editline]7th February 2011[/editline]
Battlefield 2 had pins and medals. I like that system.
I really felt I earned the medals and pins because I actually had to work for them instead of the 60 medals I earned per game in Bad Company. Same goes for weapons. I'd love to see more weapons in BF3 then in BF2, but the amount of time it took to unlock them was what kept me going the first year. After that - just plain old fun. :v:
Hope it has the T-80 too, it was fun in BC1. Also, the 2T Stalker should make a return.
Completely random thing that would be cool: "Ghost jets" that can't be seen by players that spectators can fly around.
Or single shot. God I loved single shot.
Single shot = semi-auto
Ballsack, you're right. I was thinking about three round bursts in my tired rage. [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] My lack of sleep is evident on all of my posts two day.
I'll leave this here.
I hope BF3 has bot system kinda like in BF2, I love to super charge the bot numbers so i am fighting 40vs40 bots. But any bot system kinda like BF2 would be just fine... At least they won't grenade spam.

ITT: Everybody praises Strike at Karkand Sharqi Peninsula was way better than karkand :colbert:
Dalian Plant. I love everything about that map.
Completely random thing that would be cool: "Ghost jets" that can't be seen by players that spectators can fly around.
What happens if a spectator crashes a ghost jet?
Spectator TK for ghost planes
I hope the aiming is more realistic than BF2 and BF: BC 2. MOH had a pretty good aiming system.
I have decided to have a media blackout on BF3. I shall only look at the footage that'll be shown at GDC (E3 too maybe?) and nothing else after it. I want to be completely blown away when I'll get it on PC! It's going to be my first preordered PC game too! (all other PC games I got were after launch) :buddy:

I'll probably just see GDC and the launch trailer too
I'll think about trailers, probably no. Nothing after GDC (maybe E3) :v:
I hope they have more diversity between the factions; because usually the vehicles and weapons are the same just with different models and sounds.(or least from what I have seen in most BF games) and there is more of a story behind the war that is being fought in the game than there was in BF2. I also want a realisitic vehicle armor system; a grenade launched from a M203 or GP-25/30 shouldn't be able to destroy most MBTs, no matter how badly damaged it is. And I hated the fact that were was no faction-based weapons in BFBC2(Americans could spawn carrying AK-74s and Russians could spawn carrying M16s). I hope they bring that back to. I hope they live up to their promise of large scale battles, that is something most recent games have been lacking in. I remember the maps in BF1942 and Vietnam sometimes being so huge; it would take you a considerable amount of time getting to place to place even with vehicles.
