I hope they have more diversity between the factions; because usually the vehicles and weapons are the same just with different models and sounds.(or least from what I have seen in most BF games) and there is more of a story behind the war that is being fought in the game than there was in BF2.
And people bitched and moaned about Dice doing a Singleplayer Campaign again, so when I said we needed a narrative that would (among other things) explain why everyone is at war with one another everyone balked at it and said we didn't need a reason other than "that guy over there has a different uniform than me, I should shoot him."
Just give me multiplayer and I will be happy.
ITT: Everybody praises Strike at Karkand Sharqi Peninsula was way better than karkand :colbert:
Opinions.. I love both maps personally, I have probably played more Karkand than Sharqi but I like them both equally.
I remember in BF2 I would get on 64 player servers that would only play the smallest versions of each map. It was so stupidly chaotic, but it was so fun, I hope we can do that again in BF3.
Road to Jalalalalalalalalalalalalalabad is one of my favourite BF2 maps on infantry only.
I'll be honest with you guys. Wake Island should be in Battlefield 3.
Only 15.99 for the Wake island expansion pack! 3 reskinned weapons and 1 map!
Only 15.99 for the Wake island expansion pack! 3 reskinned weapons and 1 map!
or, it could, you know?, be in the LE?

Anything outside of that is in the "nice to have but unnecessary for proper functionality" category. Games that try to be good at everything rarely excels at anything :colbert:

An overabundance of planned content with a tight release date and EA hanging over you like a dark cloud of stress will risk affecting the quality of any game. I'd like the developers to focus on what will make BF3 good, and not go out of their way to create a feature that only a quarter of the buyers will be enjoying more than once. If it takes them 2 months extra to create a singleplayer co op, that's 2 months they could've spent polishing and balancing the multiplayer (you can sink an endless amount of effort into tuning wide-open environments). Or that's the 2 months of time playing the awesome multiplayer robbed from me. If there's a market for a singleplayer then they can go on making it into a DLC once they got the game released plus a patch or two.
Oh god, I just had the funniest BF2 moment EVER! 64 players on Wake Island, and I spawned thinking FF was off, then the jet spawned there, there were at least 20 waiting for it - I blew up the jet with a C4 and got 16 simultaneous Team Kills. All the people raged, and I quit before I got kicked.
BF2 with FF off...? :raise:
I hope the Leopard 2 is in BF3. That would rule. Also, is the Europe faction in it, or just the US Army/Marines? If Europe is in it, I hope their accents change depending on the map. Like french accent in Paris, etc. :buddy:
It's more likely than you think.
Eugh I hated the europe faction, just makes Europe look like a country.
I know what you mean. As far as most Americans are concerned, there are only a few countries: USA South America Russia Middle East Japan China Europe Australia Canada
You forgot Mexico. Also, isn't Japan the capital of China?
I know what you mean. As far as most Americans are concerned, there are only a few countries: USA South America Russia Middle East Japan China Europe Australia Canada
and Africa :v:
Just give me multiplayer and I will be happy.
Playing versus bots are fun too.
God, i need to get a new computer. I'm still running Windows XP on my old-as-fuck Dell Dimension 5150 :smithicide: This thread encouraged me to play some BF2 again though. Blowing shit up has never been this fun :3:
I know what you mean. As far as most Americans are concerned, there are only a few countries: USA South America Russia Middle East Japan China Europe Australia Canada
The high-shcool over there is what's called Kindergarden everywhere else.
Also, am i the only one who thinks the F35b's vector thrust capability is hugely underestimated? [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] God damnit, ninja'd :ninja:
God I hope they have sounds that are at least as good as Bad Company 2's. Hopefully they will, because it's the same company and everything. Bad Company 2 had the best M1A2 Abrams gas turbine sound of any game I've played.
m1A2 ABRAMS GAS TURBINE SOUND god you sound like a nerd
Not in the mood reading the whole thread, is it coming out on steam as a pre-order?
m1A2 ABRAMS GAS TURBINE SOUND god you sound like a nerd
I fail to see why, so please stop trying to be witty at other peoples expense. anyway, I have only played battlefield twice, first being that special ops expansion for BF2 (i loved the spec-ops class with the C4) and BC2. I like call of duty, but should I start playing battlefield again? I would like to know why BF is better than, say, black ops.

when do people start getting the march game informer
Do you not play BF2 or something? You only fought against Russians in like, a few maps in the SF ep. Otherwise the only anti-us sides would be MEC or China (PLA) in vanilla, and if I remember correctly (haven't played SF forever) insurgents were also in SF, and some others.
I meant in most modern FPSes, like CoD or Bad Company 2
All the hype about Project Reality on here has made me download it. I'll see how it is when thats done.
