If you get the code for the Battlefield 3 beta from the limited edition medal of honor, is it only for the console you got it on?
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/jdtPD.png[/img_thumb] Read that from the scans. Did he think people wouldn't like the game? I got to level 25 in like 2 days because I couldn't stop playing.
I hope they have in there an explanation about why 20 friends is the max :colbert:
And also, no more fucking regenerating health!
ohnonononon, not 4 classes, please jesus fuck. Five at bloody least, BF2142 was the last one in the series that had acceptable classes. Recon for sniper/stealthy fucker, Assault/medic to kill shit and heal people, Engineer to kill and repair vehicles and Support to suppress enemies, create strong-points and resupply. BC was just fucking ridiculous. "Let's give the medic a fucking LMG". That's the most idiotic move they made - A medic is meant to be very mobile, so they can quickly react to their team taking casualties. A machinegunner is the opposite - They need to stay still to ground their weapon and maintain a good firing position to cover their squad, and should only really be moving when the rest of the squad or a vehicle is providing supressive fire themselves. The fact that the assault class, the guys who are supposed to be doing the majority of infantry-killing, have ammo is stupid too. Let them constantly resupply themselves and they barely have to take a break from shooting the shit out of whatever they see. Same with assault/medic in 2142, but that was acceptable since nobody would play medic if you gave them shit weapons, and everyone would play medic if you gave them decent weapons, IE BF2 once the G36E came about. The BF2 formula just about right if you ask me. All the classes were pretty much inter-dependent, encouraging teamplay. However, in BC/2 everyone was running around disregarding their teammates were able to continually fuck shit up until their shit got fucked up.
So why not use the 2142 class system then. I agree that the assault and medic in bc2 had the wrong primary weapons, so just switch them and the classes will be perfect. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline]
And also, no more fucking regenerating health!
Whats wrong with slow regenerating health? By slow I mean 2 minutes to regenerate from 1% to 100%
You don't just hide between a rock and magically recover from a bullet wound, it makes medics useless.
at a certain point is becomes smarter to just suicide and respawn rather than look for a medic.
You don't just hide between a rock and magically recover from a bullet wound, it makes medics useless.
And spawning in and getting hit in the dick by a sniper rifle so you have to sit behind a rock with no option to move or shoot back unless you want to die is a much more elegant solution.
as if most soldiers dont carry around at least a bandage? :P
at a certain point is becomes smarter to just suicide and respawn rather than look for a medic.
But no one wants -1 points right? RIGHT?!
You don't just hide between a rock and magically recover from a bullet wound, it makes medics useless.
If they make it proximity based. If there are no medics or enemies within say, 100m it starts regenerating after about 30s, that way you're not looking for a medic after you've killed off an enemy squad, and the 30s gap between eliminating the last enemy and starting regeneration means you can't really use it as a detection system. The question is about what'd happen once you're within range of an enemy again.
This picture is giving me huge BF2 vibes, reminds of a cleaner Karkand or Sharqi Peninsula. [img_thumb]http://i56.tinypic.com/21en7dh.jpg[/img_thumb]
The detail on the weapons looks a lot better than BC2s.
And spawning in and getting hit in the dick by a sniper rifle so you have to sit behind a rock with no option to move or shoot back unless you want to die is a much more elegant solution.
It worked just fine in BF2.
You know you can use Shotguns and G3 as medic? no need to use an LMG.
It worked just fine in BF2.
In which the solution was sit behind the rock and try to fish the bullet out of your penis because you can't do anything else without dieing. Considering the fact that it's been 6 years, it doesn't seem to be a huge stretch that the system may change a little bit.
Health systems could be worked by having a health bar which determines the maximum health of your character at any one time. When damaged, it does the normal regenerating damage thing but it will only regenerate up to that max health value, you'll need a medic to fix you back up to max max health (i.e. taking damage reduces your max health, health regenerates only up to that point).
Added all the scans to the OP. The lack of mod tools scare me, but if Battlefield is as godly as they claim I can live vanilla. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] http://battlefield.gamersverse.com/articles/655/game-informer-cover-issue-including-scans/ Look at the third image - crazy good destruction. Also, ANT looks to be interesting.
Project Reality had the best hp system, (Give or take the bleeding out)
No mod support = BF3 DEAD.
Project Reality had the best hp system, (Give or take the bleeding out)
But a lot of people won't like it because they're casuals. Project Reality exists for people like me who actually enjoy a higher degree of realism in their games. Unfortunately people like me make up a small percentage of the consumers who'd enjoy a Battlefield game. Nowadays it's less about what's good and more about what sells, but DICE seem to be going back on that at least a little bit.
No mod support = BF3 DEAD.
Either with or without mod support, it will rock fucking socks (unless they will fuck it up somehow). They will probably add mod support after a while anyway, as they did with BF2, so no worries.
I like slow regenerating health. You can still shoot at someone and expect them not to pop back up with full health 10 seconds later. You are also never out of the fight completely even if something stupid happens on the way to the battle. You can expect to start a fight with 100% health, by fight I mean from first contact with the enemy to one of you being dead or you have lost sight of them for some time.
I have played BC2 for about ~150 hours and i'm at level 13, i thought i was normal :byodood:
I like the classic health system that's been there since god knows when. I'm no fan of regen nor bleeding out. There are exceptions though.
It'd be cool if you could regen up to a certian point, like 30% or 50% health, so you could go around on you own, weakened, or you could search for a medic and get back in shape.
Aiming for CY Q4 2011 release -Concept for BF3 has been in the works for years, waiting on proper tech to seamlessly come together -Frosbite 2.0 is the culmination of this tech, entirely re-written -Lighting sounds neat, one “probe” contains more lighting information than an entire BFBC2 level. -Level destruction is going to be “believable” but basically everything is destructible. -Character animations powered by ANT, what EA Sports uses. -AI characters and multiplayer characters have different animation sets -No more “gliding” animations that look off, animation realism is a focus -Captured their own war audios (bullets, tanks, helicopters, etc) at different distances to ensure realism -Better audio cues for certain actions, more easily able to listen for threats -Plan on better, more immediate post release content -More unlocks than BFBC2 -Dice trying to find a good balance between customization of your character and not having “pink rabbit hat(s)” -4 classes -Will talk about squads “later” -Looking into a theater mode but can’t talk about it -Will have co-op -There will be a kill-cam but it can be turned off -BF3′s team is almost twice as big as the team for BFBC2 -They want the pacing of the single player mode to be balanced, with highs and lows. Makes the comparison to a song vs a guitar solo. -Part of the single player mode takes place in Sulaymaniyah – Iraqi Kurdistan. -“Fuck” will be used often, so M rated for sure -There will be an earthquake in a level. The destruction sounds very impressive. 7 story building collapses, looks very well done -Significant narrative that goes with the SP mode -More than one setting, you’re not in the middle east for the whole game -PC version is lead version -Why 64 players for PC only? No complains from the console crowd. -No mod tools at release. Maybe none down the line either. Frosbite 2.0 is complex and mods tools would have to be dumbed down, so does Dice really want to put their time to that or would it be better spent elsewhere? -Original story, not based on Bad Company at all.
From Rockpapershotgun Sounds very good.
If they have 4 classes, they should at least have alternating skins for them.
I really hope the REAL q menu is there, the one from bc2 is too simple.
