It'll probably end up being the best fps for 2011 in my book, but I'm betting 20 bucks that the next MW game sweeps all game industry awards. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] Also I like how the people don't look as cartoony now.
Ahahaha, when was the last time Call of Duty won a fucking award? It doesn't because proper critics know what a quality game is.
Been playing BF2 for the sake of nostalgia. Feels good man. In many ways, i actually think BF2 is better than Black Ops. Bigger maps, better balance, no corner-campers, and so on. Oh, and i don't need a killstreak of 11 just to pilot a god damn helicopter
Actually? I'm surprised you need to put a qualifier there. Black Ops is cotton candy. Battlefield 2 is a fucking feast of heavenly delights.
Ahahaha, when was the last time Call of Duty won a fucking award? It doesn't because proper critics know what a quality game is.
The call of duty games aren't bad for the first week, until people learn that camping, killstreaks and mods are the way to go, coupled with being ultra serious. Critics don't realize this because they have such a short time to play it. Therefore, Modern Warfare 2 is one of the best reviewed games in years; http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2 Black Ops follows shortly after; http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/call-of-duty-black-ops A shame. On the topic of Battlefield, fuck man - I can't wait to get back into the jet flying tank jizzing action!
I'm not too annoyed about not having mod support, I only ever really played on Vanilla maps on BF2, while mods like PR were ok, they just weren't as fun as the standard game in my opinion.

After reading the scans of the Game Informer article (thanks for posting those btw) and seeing the pictures of Frostbite 2 in action (not to mention several pictures reminded me of BF2) I'm more hyped up then ever over BF3; I really hope we get to see some video of Frostbite 2 in action. Also, did anyone notice how when they were talking about ANT they mentioned "transitioning aggressively into and out of cover"; perhaps I'm reading to much into this, but could this mean there's going to be some sort of cover system? That would definitely be new to battlefield, but would it be good?

I wouldn't mind seeing a first person cover system like in Killzone but even in that series it was dedicated solely for singleplayer.
I really hope there isn't, hopefully they're just talking about AI cover animations.
or that there will be some type on the fly animation, ie: if your crouching right up next to a wall it would seem to others looking at you that your character is realistically using that piece of terrain as cover and not just standing behind it. /wildspeculation
Cover systems don't belong in a Battlefield game. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] What I think it means is if you crouch next to a wall, your character will slide up against it, like a real soldier. So like if you sprint towards a wall, and press crouch, from your FOV it won't be any different to any other game, but other people will see you perhaps slide into cover or something.
I think so... And hope so.

If they have to do a cover system, borrowing the scheme that Red Orchestra 2 is going to use would be nice.
Some full body awareness would be awesome in this, you can see your legs and some parts of your upper body, your hand going away from your foregrip/whatever to check your mag pouches. Damn, that would be awesome.
oh and apparently the MEC are called the PLR (the People's Liberation and Resistance) now.
Now everyone will confuse PLA (China) with PLR
After being so used to saying PLA it's going to be weird trying to say PLR, couldn't they have picked a better name? I quite frankly think I cover system in BF3 wouldn't be the easiest thing to do with destructible environments, not to mention I'm not sure that many people would actual want it in the first place. Some sort animation only other players see (kinda like the combat roll everyone does when going prone in BF2) would be fine provided they could avoid exploits. Also, the fact a lot of the screenshots show an M16 (?) without any rear sights makes it seem like attachable sights are going to be in, which I'm personally happy about as long as they don't go overboard (no thermal scopes) and you can customize your weapon how you want without limitations aside from reality (as in you can put a red dot, 203, flashlight, and silencer on your M16 if you want to and aren't limited to just one or two options).
I hope this game has snow maps.

A cover system where your player gets glued to a wall and you get throw into third person would suck. A cover system where your player is slightly stuck to the wall if you walk into it purposefully, and can then lean out of the corners a bit might work, but doesn't seem very battlefield like. But just pure player model placement? I'm all for it. I don't really care about the lack of modding either. There are some good mods for BF2, but there aren't many really. Compared to games like the Half Life series anyway, which has more multi-player mods of much more varying quality. Though it would be nice if DICE included some form of scripting solution so we can do small things like make a more arcade-like gamemode or something. So we don't need to add content to the game with their ridiculous requirements, but we can just change bits here and there through server side scripts.
I want this game to have those awesome lines from BC2. *Someone gets shot by an RPG* "FUCK ME!!!" *You are sitting on a hill 600m away and take out a guy with a headshot* "How do you like me now, you motherfucker?"
I hope this game has snow maps.
I really hope there are an entire range of environments, desert, snow, jungle, forest, city, island, etc... and hopefully there will be plenty of maps. Would be cool if depending on the map the uniforms each team had on changed as well; perhaps even vehicle paint jobs could change. Would definitely add to the environment.
I want this game to have those awesome lines from BC2. *Someone gets shot by an RPG* "FUCK ME!!!" *You are sitting on a hill 600m away and take out a guy with a headshot* "How do you like me now, you motherfucker?"
I remember how some people didn't like the voice over in BC2, perhaps at times it was a bit over the top but I really think it added a lot to the game. It's war, whether you like it or not people are going to be shouting, cursing, and saying all sorts of shit. At the same time, when you were trying to be a ninja it could be a pain in the ass.

Just seen the magazine shots. Damn this looks good.
Five year olds can troll better than this.
You're complaining about it. Congrats, you've just been trolled. You gave him what he wanted, you criticized him.
If they are going to add the auto heal system, i hope it could be possible only when your health is not below 80%
If they are going to add the auto heal system, i hope it could be possible only when your health is not below 80%
I'd want it to only heal to like 40% make it so you need to find a medic.
Anyways time to listen to MEC theme and masturbate furiously.
You're complaining about it. Congrats, you've just been trolled.
