I know no specs have been released yet, but I havent PC gamed in nearly two years and am wondering how my rig stacks up to todays and possibly future games as well...BF3 is bringing me back after the ridiculous amount of fun and time I spent with BF2 and I would love to be able to run it at a respectable medium settings at LEAST. I currently have: 4GB DDR2 800MHz ram, Q6600 Quad core 2.4Ghz and a 9800GTX. I was thinking maybe just upgrade the GPU and Ill be good? For High perhaps? Or is my rig quite behind and will struggle a bit? What you guys think?
You realize that it's not just WHABAM hole in ground? There's actual calculations that are taxing on your CPU that decide HOW that terrain looks after being deformed.
No, it IS "WHABAM HOLE in the ground" yes, it's simple like that.
ground on every map in bc2 is just a displacement that uses white-black heightmap (that's what i heard)
This, didn't see it at first.
Nothing beats this.
High quality, fully orchestrated.
Found this, http://twitter.com/SupportEA/status/36515570073473024 Beta is in October now?
Broken dreams of a summer beta. :saddowns:
Maybe some licensed ''real'' music in some of the loading screens, like they did in battlefield Vietnam ( Altough it being placed in the 60's was a good excuse to include some vintage music )
Amazon has PC pre-orders listed at 60 dollars?...
I found my copies of Battlefield 2, Special Forces, 1942 deluxe, Vietnam, 2142, Modern Combat, Bad Company 1&2, and since I have 1943 on my Xbox and BFP4F + Heroes on my PC that makes my collection... complete! Ha-ha! [editline]13th February 2011[/editline] I might update the OP tomorrow.
I envy you so much right now...
Why? I'm sure most people in this thread have all those games, myself included. Though I lost my 2142 disk...
Amazon has PC pre-orders listed at 60 dollars?...
Yeah, I think they always aimed to set the price at $60. It sucks to pay more, I hope that the extra 10 dollars have gone into making the game even better.

Trust me, I loved BF from the start, but I was at Primary School back then and I'm pretty sure my parents wouldn't approve of me buying every game and console as they were released over the years just because it was my favourite game series [editline]Edited:[/editline] Hence, why I envy you guys

No meaning to it when I don't have the time to play through the games I don't own =/ I've got BF2 deluxe edition and BF1942 deluxe edition and played most of the named games so the loss isn't the biggest
I like the BF2142 version of the main theme the most, the more "epic" one.
I need to reinstall BF2 on Steam. Oddly, couldn't play because all the dolphin diving and lag.
I need to reinstall BF2 on Steam. Oddly, couldn't play because all the dolphin diving and lag.
I honestly dont notice much dolphin diving when I play
As said before. I do miss the Q/T commands they had in Bf2 for the PC version (i don't know if it had in other versions though). I miss saying thanks to a medic after reviving me.

-No mod tools at release. Maybe none down the line either.

What are you, a child? They aren't coming. I'm not even saying it will be a horrible game, I'm just saying it isn't going to happen.

I'm holding out hope that my X1950 Pro will be able to handle this game. [sp]I refuse to listen to logic[/sp]
What are you, a child? They aren't coming. I'm not even saying it will be a horrible game, I'm just saying it isn't going to happen.
You can't be completely sure they won't come; there's a possibility. BF 1942 and BF2 didn't ship with mod tools.
I do hope they make a remake out of this one for the main theme . Of course, it would be a remake of a remake :v:.
Does anyone else notice the ambient music that plays when in an uncap or home base in BF2? So far I have noticed: Operation road rage: Eerie, hopelessness inducing music reminiscent of Defcon and Halo 2 (Heard when on rooftop of supermarket) Road to Jalalabad: Quiet music that sounds like the ambient music in BFBC2. (USMC base) Note this is very quiet and best heard with nothing else going on, but it is there.
Never heard that, but I did hear Never Going to Give You Up in a custom level.
Amazon has PC pre-orders listed at 60 dollars?...
the game will be 60 dollars like all standard games today, so what
Didn't the BFBC2 beta come out during the end of Feburary? So if its the same for BF3, BF3 will come out during November?
