It wasn't too complicated - page up, page down, T and you're good to go.
I think it was more the hierarchy system that I took a little longer to adjust too. It was simple enough, but the fact you as a footsoldier had no control over anything, if your squad leader was a moron you had no way of stopping him really, other than making a new squad. If your commander was a moron you would be blind.
But once you get used to it, yeah it makes so much sense, and is much, much more enjoyable than lone wolfing.
It's not like BF doesn't have a slight learning curve already.
True, still.
Finished my 5th playthrough of BC1, now to do 3 more playthroughs of BC2.
Not gonna happen. BF is one of the franchises that INVENTED class-based multiplayer.
Invented large scale vehicle style yes, class based no.
The RPK was awesome in that map. Once I managed to shoot down a Blackhawk by whittling its health down whenever it passed and got around 6-8 free kills once it blew up.
They should award dismounted assist points for helo pilots. Like if you drop off a squad and they proceed to score a few kills and capture a point in around 5 minutes, you should receive some points for shipping them over to a good position.
My favorite vehicle kill from BF was in 2142 when I was alone guarding a point on one of the giant conquest maps, I see a helicopter(or whatever you call those 2142 helo counterparts) coming at me so I duck in a corner and hide so it won't see me. I hear it land and noticed they stopped the engine. I look out and see a whole squad including the pilot run for the flag. I run over to their helo, plant some bombs on the side and run back to my corner and wait. They get the flag, feeling like bosses they run back to their helo. But the own hubris would be their undoing. There are no clean getaways. It was rainin men that day.
Also yeah, pilots should get points for transporting people, maybe then they won't be so motivated to crash into tanks.
Do it how Planetside does it: For a limited amount of time after someone gets out of your vehicle you get assist points for every kill they make.
3 dumbs? Really? last time I suggest something in this thread :colbert:
I am so going to enjoy crashing jets into buildings filled with snipers.
wow u so gd derp
What? I just like replayability, and BF has it. Finished 3rd playthrough of BC2.
I am so going to enjoy crashing jets into buildings filled with snipers.
The first challenge is going to be, how to get the jets, since everybody is all hiped up by crashing/using jets for the love of destruction. There are going to be huge rows of people waiting for them to spawn.
I am so going to enjoy crashing jets into buildings filled with snipers.
New Achievement: Never Forget
Crash plane into building and kill at least two enemies while a team mate crashes into another building killing two enemies within 15 seconds.

Mexican Standoff. When we are all waiting for the jet I pull out my pistol and look at the others in the eyes. When the jet spawns the first one to move is a dead man.
[editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
Also jet with nose filled with C4, fly straight up into the air as high as you can go, the dive at full speed towards the target building and when you get close fire all the missiles, drop all the bombs and fire the autocannon. Supersonic meteor of death.

Going to be the same as in BF2 where people were rushing towards the choppers and jets just to fly them for themselves, and sometimes, even teamkill to get the jets.
Hope it won't be like this, but might be a possibility :smith:
Mexican Takeoff.
When we're all waiting for the jet to spawn.

You are hilarious.
Thank you.
I hope they bring back the Grappling hook from BF2: SF

They should punish people for crashing jets and helicopters. I mean a jet costs what? 30 million dollars?
Not vounching for realism in battlefield of all things, but Fighter jets should probably be reserved for people who know what the hell they are doing instead of the guy who can run to it the fastest and teamkill the most opposition. Don't crash the jet into a building, pepper the building with rockets and GAU fire and turn everybody into pudding, it'll be way more fun.
I'm sort of skeptical about how they are doing Jets. I mean BF2 was basically pure arcade, but looking a the new footage, it looks like player movement mechanics are a lot slower and dare I say it, realistic. It's going to be a sharp and awkward contrast when people are plowing jets into buildings :ohdear:

Say if you have a certain amount of time in aircrafts or certain amount of pins/badges from flying the aircraft and killing people, they should be the ones that are allowed to fly.

I know it isn't quite the same. But look at BC2 and when people crash helicopters into whatever (usually wookies who are wasting a slot). The game is fairly realistic in terms of movement, but it doesn't stop you doing dumb shit without it looking weird.

No.
Say if you have a certain amount of time in aircrafts or certain amount of pins/badges from flying the aircraft and killing people, they should be the ones that are allowed to fly.
And how do you suggest that people get these badges, and the minimum time spent flying, if they can't fly prior to getting these?
Just make the jets realistically powered (able to take down a building with its payload) And I think it will solve the problems with people flying into buildings (not all but most)
Oh also I'd like to see a Titan like gamemode.
I hope they bring back the Grappling hook from BF2: SF
They won't.

how about making a suicide with a jet (where you haven't taken a massive amount of damage and still have control) a huge amount of negative points and a ban from flying for the next 2-5 minutes

I still like my idea of a flight training program. No piloting in servers until you're qualified in offline modes.
Come on! a similar titan mode kmon people! you know it'd be awesome (assuming its realistically portrayed instead of a huge ass airship)
Like a mobile command center or even a aircraft carrier.
Will it still have offline, non-story, battles with bots? I used to like just having a quick game and slaughtering everyone without the stress of having people who are better than me killing me all the time.
C'mon, almost GDC.
