Just Cause 2 [img_thumb]http://www.ps3blog.de/wp-content/gallery/jc20108/just-cause-2-20080129091534814.jpg[/img_thumb] and thats the pre-release pictures I believe ^^
That doesn't even look close to the real game. That's just a pre-rendered scene with some shit textures, lots of trees, and terragen skybox. The actual game looks like this: Kinda hard to find pics of the game, try watching some videos in HD to get a good idea of the game. That said, IMO Just cause 2 is pretty beautiful, and it's really big too.
Also, I really want Red Dead Redemption for PC, as I don't want to buy a console just for a couple of games when I've got one hell of a gaming rig.
you can tell rockstars devs put a lot of effort into IV when you notice the little things and yeah mirrors edge may not have "amazing graphics" but the design and execution is astounding
Bad Company 2 looks pretty good.
Brutal Legend.
probably just cause 2
BioShock, for me. I don't like the game very much, but the amount of effort put into the level design is just amazing. Edit: And Uncharted 2.
Little big planet or prince of persia (That next gen one that was worthless in every way besides art)
BioShock, for me. I don't like the game very much, but the amount of effort put into the level design is just amazing.
Yea, bioshock 1 and 2 looks fit in with the time and place. It is why I find it beautiful.
Shadow of the Colossus was the best looking game ever on the PS2. Conker's Bad Fur Day Reloaded had really nice visuals that were the best I've seen in a cartoony game. Fight Night Round 4 had amazing graphics, but considering it's scale it was nothing spectacular. Mirrors Edge just looked amazing. I remember being so confused looking at screenshots because I was conviced it was pictures of real things.
Best rendered game I'd probably give to Viva Pinata, actually. :v: Coolest enviroment has to be Brutal Legend, though.
I don't think crysis is that great. It has horrible shadows and lighting and in general it has a blurry/undefined look to it, like oblivion also has. I don't know how to describe it any better than that. Mirror's edge is sooo under rated for amazing graphics. Lighting and shadows are perfect, shaders are great, textures are fine even at a huge resolution, maps are really interesting. And it's not like it's lacking any tech behind that all. I think Uncharted 2 has truely great graphics as well.
Arma 2 looks beautiful when run on high or above.
crysis...then put the reality mod into it...and your head explodes =D oh and as a bonus...gm_avalanch test 2 for gmod...it's not even finished, but it just looks amazing =) http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=8551 <----epicness
All of this talk of Mirrors Edge, I may go out and buy it again! If places still sell it that is. :/
Killzone 2 or Uncharted Series.
Astal, hands down the best looking platformer and/or 2D game, or maybe that's just nostalgia talking. I doubt that though.
Oblivion with some graphics enhancing mods.
Ssbb
The Uncharted games
mirror's edge wins then there's brutal legend and killzone 2 honorable mention is bioshock
Please tell me you're joking. :ohdear:
Sadly, not. :frown: I get impressed with graphics that easily.
trials HD
Probably the only game that has actually used post-processing to effectively and efficiently create a cinematic and artistic spectacle. It's amazing how well some desaturation and depth-of-field improves the overall aesthetic of a game. Also, dem particle effects... oh boy dem particle effects. I don't even like the gameplay of Killzone 2 - it sucks - but god-damn this game looks good.
Mirror's Edge.
Red Dead Redemption may not have the biggest texture resolutions, but it's definitely one of the most beautiful games in recent memory when you are riding your stallion across the desert with the sunset glaring in your eyes. Uncharted 2 is also really nice, especially the part where you walk through the mountain village. My jaw dropped as I witnessed it for the first time.
Killzone 2, really epic looking, a bit cliche in the fact that it uses a lot of dark brown colours, and there is an absoloute abundance of lens flares, they're everywhere, but the use of DoF, lens flares, motion blur and loads of other post processing stuff like that makes the game really look amazing, other things like the animation of the characters (uses a system similar to euphoria, not sure what it is but it definitely uses "dynamic" animations) and the view you have of your own character just makes such a cinematic looking game.
Bad Company 2.
Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. EDIT: Seriously though, Grand Theft Auto IV with ENB Series.
Dirt 2 since its colourful, dx11 and great graphics.
