Honestly, CS 1.2 had my favorite combination of everything. I loved the blocky/no AA/no AF feel, no idea why.
As far as graphics actually go, how could you say anything but Crysis? If you think it looks good normally, try making the foliage-to-sprite distance as high as possible, 3D trees rendered up to 2 miles away...
Also, Crysis had some fucking legendary post-processing, like the invisibility effect and the oversaturation/film grain effect when you get shot.
Mirrors Edge had me pausing and looking around at times... everything just looked so clean and crisp. Besides that I'd have to say ARMA 2.
Okami.
Sure, a bit dated now, but the art style is just so fantastic.
I thought Far Cry 1 had a nice atmosphere and environment
Crysis for looking beautiful
TF2 for its art style
Metro is pretty kickass.

Okay so the game was really boring after the first 30 minutes and in many ways it was simply broken.
But damn it looked fucking nice and it's probably the most well-optimised game I've ever played.
Legacy of Kain series.
Crysis didn't really look too realistic. It was still heavily stylized. And by god, when it's fully very high'd I couldn't find my jaw anymore it was drooping so much. Playing became difficult because I couldn't stop disbelieving just how beautiful it was.
But that's not really the game I want to talk about. I want to talk about Halo 3. It's even less realistic looking and it's a console game. But holy fuck the HDR! The HDR! Screw that it only outputs at 480p when it has that fucking HDR. I've seen live action movies with less impressive HDR than that shit. It crams so much quality into such a pathetic GPU and such a small amount of memory it's almost criminal. The shaders, the reflections, the lights, by golly the lights, first ones I've ever seen in a game with a proper inverse square falloff. Lighting up the dark tunnels ahead with your warthog is orgasmic. And it's all so beautifully and artistically done.
Did I mention the HDR? I played it first on a rather bright CRT TV. And I was dual wielding plasma rifles in the dark... that shit hurt mah eyes yo!
For being a console game I'd say this game does a fairly good job of looking better than Crysis in a lot of ways.

I didn't think Crysis was stylised at all. They went too much for realism and simply making nice shadows and detailed flora and completely forgot about that thing called "atmosphere" that Far Cry 2 has bucket loads of. Not once did I get the impression that I was playing in a boiling hot, humid jungle... everything was just so sterile.

Every console game since the 360 arrived has slapped HDR on by the tub full. It's just their way of distracting the viewer and covering up the poor anti-aliasing. I think DiRT and DiRT2 are especially guilty of this. They do look hella nice but sometimes it borders on ridiculous.
They haven't slapped it in like Halo 3 slapped it on I can tell you that.
Yeah, I guess it is quite tastefully done in Halo. I liked the visual style of that game, even if I disliked most other things.
I almost forgot to mention just how awesome it is when the background and foreground are all completely 3D and seamlessly integrated. My jaw once more found it's way onto the floor when that fucking massive Covenant cruiser flew little more than 50 meters overhead and then cruised far into the distance where the 3D mountains were until it was little more than a tiny cigar on the horizon.
Post the pic how it would be like to play oblivion when high.
I almost forgot Heavy Rain.
Here, let me make a chart for you....
Mass Effect 2, Team Fortress 2, Mirror's Edge

When the ship flew down to drop off some tanks my jaw dropped. I was expecting a cutscene, not to be thrown across the map by wind as a MASSIVE ship floated meters above my head.
I can only name ME2. I mean, all the equipment, Tech and Characters look detailed!
ARMA 2 looks impressive on maxed out settings from what I have seen on Youtube videos.
Also, the textures and lighting in STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl are very nice considering it is a DirectX 9 game.
Arma II's characters look so realistic on the move - the animations are probably the best I have ever seen in a shooter; they're so very fluid.
Shame their faces look like shit, although Operation Arrowhead is rectifying this.
Call of pripyat and Metro 2033
Arma 2, by far.

That's just a quick example. I've seen it look even prettier.
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena had some of the sexiest visuals i've ever seen, especially during the final prison levels in Escape from Butcher Bay, and suprisingly the game did WAY better than the movies themselves, although im not saying the movies aren't worth a watch.
Dwarf Fortress.
I can just IMAGINE the hordes of skeletal giant eagles tearing my fortress apart in the deadliest manner possible as my dwarves attempt to flee from the bloody shows of giblets from long lost friends driving them into madness where they proceed to slaughter eachother horribly until the last dwarf steps out of the bloody mess of entrails and amputated dead dwarven bodies in plate armour.

Look at all that brown. Mmmm, brown.

Imagination doesn't count :colbert:
Anyways Metro 2033 was really great in terms of its graphical qualities, inside the Metro and Outside in the ruined city.
