Little update for you boys:
This is a WIP, meaning if you see anything incomplete on it I haven't done it yet but I plan to, but by all means go ahead and tell me all about it because that really helps me.
It's way too dark, besides that, it's awesome.

Uh huh.

No one's going to notice if you're going to riff off industrial/whatever the proto map was.

It's stomach ball thing, looks more flesh coloured in the original. The arms from the inside of the elbow to the bicep look a bit blue'ish compared to the rest of the arm/s.
I like the cloak/cape texture, though, I hope once its all complete the model is looking more Orange box quality than beta. It would be nice if the arms and the stomach ball had some veins seeing as the character is so thin and skinny. Purple - blue with a hint of pink veins, I think would suit.
Boots, hands and gloves all look good.
Also the original had some wierd orange dome things going on on the back of the glove.
Unfortunately not. We don't have a character animator (we could really need one!), so he's still just teleporting down the stairs :( Sorry!
We know it sucks!
If you can send me the rig with the stairs models I could give it a shot. Although I'm currently busy with my College Portfolio..although that's due in Early Feb.
What program did you use to create the Cremator, mug?
Uh huh.
I'm sorry, mug, I agree with him. Color is a little too dark, although the overall consistency is great.
And that little ball needs a little more yellow/flesh color.
I can wait until release.
I have got some patience.
Doesn't the right hand in the original model have an orange orb on it?
Edit: To whoever rated me dumb:

Check the right hand, dummy.

That was sarcasm.
I've noticed everything you just said, I'm working on it. Though I never noticed the stomach ball was supposed to be organic, I always thought it was metal, thanks for that.

Oh I sort of agree with him, he's just a fag :v:.
What program did you use to create the Cremator, mug?
3D Studio Max 8 (cause I'm too lazy to get 2010) for the low poly mesh and some UV mapping, Photoshop CS4 for the textures, 3DCoat for some of the other UV mapping, Mudbox 2010 for the high poly models and xNormal to bake the normals/ambient occlusion maps.

Yeah I know, the hands are just mirrored at the moment.
Shit, double post.
It may just be me, But I think his head is a little bit too wide and his collar should cover a little more up on hes neck/bottem of head. But other then that, the model is awesome.

I based it off the head in Eli's Lab, which I think is a much better example than the original. The retail head was a bit wider and squashed in.

Ace!
Once the Cremator gets rigged properly, we'll show a video of it ingame. I'd rather not show the current model, because it sucks.
I always thought the ball was metal too. Why would valve intentionally want to show off the cremator's beer belly? >_>

Pretty sure the intention was that they were taking extremely potent digestive juices from an alien species straight out of it's swolen belly and into a gun. I believe there was meant to be a pipe between that nozzle on his stomach and the back of the gun.

Oh wow......that actually makes sense.
Actually the Cremator heads were the only parts manufactured in the factories by little kids. The most horrifying thing about the Cremator was that there was nothing organic in it. Sure it had some respiratory mechanisms which sounded like breathing, but that's only for cooling the damn head. Even raising The Bar had a sidenot which said that Cremator was a machine. Kinda like Darth Vader. It was something organic a long time ago, but now it's just a machine. Also, machines don't have feelings which is why it slowly walks to you and spews acid on you like a serial killer.
Now about the model itself. You could make very THICK veins. Kinda like tubes that make the fuel flow to the arms, maybe gears show up through the skin? slightly even? no? Oh well.
Last thing i have to say is: Make the damn Cremator dirty, especially the core (The "pokeball" in it's stomach.) It's a janitor, meaning it goes to dirty places and does dirty stuff. Also machines don't worry too much about dirt getting on them unless it affects their functionality. And as far as i know, the Cremator doesn't, and even if it did, how could it clean itself? Spew acid on itself? Don't think so.

.
But the last part was my opinion.
I don't think a machine would have skin and veins, and Darth Vader is not a machine, he's basically a cyborg, there's a difference you know.
Small update I guess

I've been pretty busy, still gotta do the head.
I also wrote a news post on MODDB which will be posted here and on the Tub when it's approved on MODDB.
Looks noice.

That new texture looks 10,000,000x better.
Stomach looks perfect!
Unfortunately I should of corrected the other guy, if you look closely the orange orb w/e is on both hands :S <---hate me now!
Head is looking nice waiting to see mascare running down from the eyes.

No it's not.

Well, about that...
I was just borrowing Yoda's words: "Vader is a human no longer. More machine he is than man."
Woah, the new Cremator looks a thousand times better than Valve's model! Keep up the excellent work, Mug.

It took me almost three minutes before I realised I was having a staring contest with your avatar...
On topic now: Sounds cool, the Prowler seems interesting, and the mapwork seems godly. Looking forward to this.
Oh, cool.
(but will it connect to gabenet, I spent hours trying to set up a tunnel because of a PDF Blake or ScarT posted in the forums :downs:)
