:siren:Halo 1 was a great game and Blood Gulch is one of the best maps in FPS history:siren: That is all.

one of these days i need to replay halo 1 coop it'll be awesome
Loved Halo 1 on PC, despite a few quirks I encountered while playing it. Halo 2 and 3 were very underwhelming, although my roommates and I loved the co-op in 3. ODST was pretty good, and I loved the semi-open world feel to it, that side story with Sadie and co. and that twist with the [sp]engineer[/sp]. I, at least, didn't see that coming. Fairly good memories all around with some sour spots. Nothing revolutionary though and won't be showing up on my list of 10 favorite games.
I don't know why everyone says the first one was the best. It was by far the most drawn out and repetitive.
I don't know why everyone says the first one was the best. It was by far the most drawn out and repetitive.
Especially The Library. I died SO many fucking times there.
Especially The Library. I died SO many fucking times there.
I was mainly thinking of Assault on the Control Room.
me and my brother freakin love halo all the way from first to last their isnt even one horrible halo game at all
I don't know why everyone says the first one was the best. It was by far the most drawn out and repetitive.
It came out when it was one of the least repetitive and most flashy games out. It has that retro game feel, where it's kind of unfinished and still playable yet nobody asks why it's unfinished.
it's pretty fun
I only like the original...
Halo Wars was awesome what are you people smoking.
Does the PC version of Halo 1 still have some people playing it? I don't want to search for the disk just to find no servers at all.
Yeah there's still people playing it.

Alright. Time to dig through games... I remember playing it on a 56k, couldn't really play it at all. :v:
Haven't played much for a while. ODST Firefight needs to have some sort of matchmaking as well. No one I know on XBL has ODST or is on due to timezones.

I just wanted to come into the thread, not to shit, but to praise. My final statement in this thread and any recurring halo threads: I fucking love Halo. I am a halo fanboy.
Original Halo needs a co-op mod.
I love Halo. Good story line, very creative game, and fun to play. The dialogue is hilarious (especially in successive games), I always find myself cracking up at a lot of the stuff the marines scream. I don't know why a lot of people had a problem with Halo 2. I really loved seeing things from the other side and enjoyed watching as things went to hell from both sides. Playing as the Arbiter was fun. I think I've played through Halo 2 many more times than any of the others, and I've had a lot of fun doing so. Plus, the games look spectacular. The alien architecture, the landscapes, being able to look over to the horizon and seeing a megastructure curves over above you and recede back into the horizon below you (or see the arms of the Ark). I'm a big sci-fi fan, and I fucking love the concept of megastructures. I'm fucking glad they were in the Halo universe... I've never seen them in any other game before.
Me and Zip were trying to get into the same server and I created this gem:
3:42 AM - Zombii.ONI: HALO ACTIVATION SOON FELLOW SPARTAN 3:42 AM - tehzipfile: REALLY? WHEN? 3:42 AM - Zombii.ONI: NOW 3:42 AM - tehzipfile: omG
I joined a server that had two kids (I assumed they were kids by their typing and using text emotes): Comparing their dick sizes Telling each other what words meant Talking about gang raping their moms And other things. :colbert: But Halo 1's MP is pretty fun. [editline]04:34AM[/editline] And the server had a "crouching = surrendering" thing, people would crouch in the middle of combat and then get mad at you for killing them.
I see a lot of people saying they liked the first Halo but hated it after that... I didn't even like the first one. It was just bleak corridor crawling with no personality. I much preferred Timesplitters (and while we're on that subject, why was the dual-stick control scheme commonly referred to as "the Halo controls" despite the fact Timesplitters came out a year before?).
If you have 4 controllers and friends to play with halo 3 is good too.
Halo 1 was great, Halo 2 was great/good. Halo 3 could've used some new gameplay elements though. Gonna see how Reach turns out.
Needs more Red vs Blue
