The STALKER Series Megathread does not support this halo-stalker mix.
i loved the co-op in the first one, all the games are ok but Reach is the last one im buying since 343 studios is getting in charge of things :|
That was one of the best maps
Can't play 4 on same box
When someone got you in their pistol sights it was basically instant kill. More or less.
1. Aside from the fact that you had to go through the same two rooms like 15 times (and backtracked through it again later), yeah it was pretty good.
2. Yes you can.
3. Wouldn't know about that.
Also what a coincidence that my avatar is from Halo.
Also, ONI needs to stop lying to everyone. :saddowns:

Halo 3 and ODST are fine. It's just 2 that's shit.
I would say that the only halo game in the series that sucked ass was 3.
I liked halo 3 multiplayer, then started to suck after realising you had to shoot everyone to fuck with the assault rifle and then bash them, or be cannon fodder for the lucky fucker with the rocket launcher.
I personally didn't like ODST, because of the campaign. Firefight is good but I can never get anyone to play with me...

Yeah that was one of my biggest complaints about Halo 3 MP.
the shift from Mid-long range combat to mid-short.
2. Yes you can.
You can? What the hell.

Maybe I was thinking about campaign

But only 2 players on the same machine.

I know, I've tried.
I loved the first, despised the second, haven't played the third, am avoiding Wars like it was Black Death and enjoyed firefight on ODST. I liked the first because at the time it was released it WAS something new and fun to play. There were awesome environments to run around and shoot at for no reason, the vehicles were fun, the guns were balanced and felt right and the AI was fightable, not great, but it worked.
Halo 2 ruined it for me really. The inclusion of gimmicky combat systems (dual-weilding), the inclusion of a one hit weapon (the sword), and the frankly boring storyline and barely any new or interesting ideas. I haven't played Halo 3, and if I do I won't be touching the MP as it looks terrible now. I've messed around in firefight with a friend, which was pretty fun, especially when we realized that those flying enemies make great target practises with Gravity Hammers. I have always liked the feeling the music used provides, when something sad or depressing is going on the music reflects that well, and when you are in a big battle, the music gives it this certain feeling that makes it fun.
I might give Halo 3 multiplayer another chance after I get a bit better at MW2.

Bump. But a worthy one.
You have to feel sorry for the guy that is going so far out of his way to rate everyone dumb. I guess that big fuck you that Halo 1 shouted at PC gamers when it was so successful, pioneering one button grenades, regenerating shields and basically paved the way for solid FPS games on the console that could take on PC games in terms of quality.
I'll admit, I've probably went through each games Singleplayer alteast a dozen times, enjoying all for what strengths they have but Halo 2 was a dip for single player. With such strong (yet successful) inclusion of Online Multiplayer, single player took a real hit. That and fucking deadlines. 3 was good but again Multiplayer. I liked the path ODST goes in and I sure can't wait for Reach(around). :v:

LOL HALO IS DUMB BECAUSE ALYX IS SEXY
lol
since I used to play halo custom edition so much i started to think halo:ce meant halo custom edition
Games ok.
OP, you missed one minor about the "original" Halo... It was originally a game being developed for Mac until Microsoft bought Bungie.
It bugs me when people don't realize that little bit of info about Halo.
It's still available for Mac.
I know that, I have it still. I was just saying Halo was originally a Mac only title.
Yeah, I saw that at E3 I think it was.
It was also going to be a RTS.
yep, then it was a FPS. the next year Microsoft bought Bungie.
and because of that gaming on the Mac died.. but it's slowly coming back, even though it's really weak.
No bashing or bitching intended but part 1 was good, part 2 was better to me because of the online play, everything else was just awful, they also milked the franchise a bit too hard with the maps, ODST, and Wars. They really don't need to make another one.
While Halo's storyline is very generic, the gameplay is quite good. That's enough to keep me interested for a few hours.
When I want a great storyline I play the 90's point-and-click adventures or games like Beyond Good and Evil or Psychonauts.
While the Halos aren't total shit, I'd rather be punched in the testicles then deal with their dumb, American fanbase.

I always say, that's what friends are for. Keeping the wankers away.
COD is worse nowadays, so Reach could easily capitalise, atleast it's looking like something fresh.
Halo is great period. Although the second one, in my opinion, felt really stiff and bland. The level design in the first and third games was brilliant and the gameplay was average. The story, however, is extremely good and the music, as always, is just plain amazing.
As much as I love Halo, I have to admit the story presented in the games wasn't that great.
The books do a much better job at telling the story. That's what Bungie is looking to achieve with this game - because its been lacking throughout the series.
Halo 3 > Halo > ODST > Halo 2 > Halo Wars
Halo 3 managed to make some of the most ridiculous kills possible.
Eew, overrated franchises.
let me ask you something
how the fuck does a game being over-rated or over-hyped make the game worse? It has nothing to do with the development, it's just people are excited for it.
If you hate a game because of this you are a gay loser that is just trying to go against the majority to be ~badass and smart~
