Orator Standard
Many thanks.
Damnit, I want L.U.R.K. 1.1 now. I've been keeping myself constantly preoccupied but I have about ran out of things to do. Suicide petition agreeing that we kill ourselves tomorrow at 1:00 PM central anyone?

I am eating A cookie while think about STALKER.
That's a lot of weapons. SMP?
Yeah. the new SMP makes me feel like I'm playing a new game, even tough I've played SOC about 30 times.
I havent played SMP. Is it any good?
I am eating A cookie while think about STALKER.
Taffel Nacho Cheese Balls here, and oh boy these are tasty
Let me guess..... [editline]09:55AM[/editline] .....Raiskauskone! [editline]09:59AM[/editline] Also I think we should have a gif for that image that we always have at the top of the OP. Like one that flickers or something. Just a thought. [editline]10:01AM[/editline] HOLY SHIT! SMP is 2 gigs!?
what image
STALKER is a shitload easier to use mods than Oblivion. I am currently setting up a FCOM++ installation of Oblivion which is about 15GB or so and has taken 3 days. I hope LURK 1.1 doesn't take 3 days to setup and install
Yeah. the new SMP makes me feel like I'm playing a new game, even tough I've played SOC about 30 times.
Do they still have recycled rubbish animations for the guns
Taffel Nacho Cheese Balls here, and oh boy these are tasty
It is delicious

Compilations in STALKER are also hard to do if they share similar files right? Well, not hard, but very time consuming. As for setups though, I suppose it is easier to just drag and drop a gamedata folder and maybe change a .ini file, as opposed to FCOM which requires you to install other software (Wyre Bash) as well as needing a tutorial longer than most JRPG walkthroughs just to install it(bit of hyperbole, but you get the point), but I attribute this to the lack of a FCOM installer (probably so the user gets as many customisation options as possible), while STALKER mods come pre-prepared to 'plug and play'.

Exactly, especially the parts where you have to extract all of your models, PyFII them and then then repack them. The copyright law with STALKER allows users to modify vanilla models and then upload it as a mod. [editline]08:51PM[/editline] Also, I have read roughly 100 pages worth of documentation and a shit load of .ini files just to get it configured correctly.
Why do I feel like I've seen this in at least three post today?
Because I posted it twice today.
I think I'll try and use hammer to make my own version of Cordon or Rostok, I'm not exactly sure how will I implement everything to stay correct, tho. Also, just took a walk around Yantar in LURK for the first time, quite scarier than I imagined.

I remember my first playthrough, Yantar was actually quite unsettling for me. Even Cordon once had the effect of making me feel like I really was in the zone. Hopefully LURK 1.1 will revive some of this.
Actually, Cordon reminds me of that "The Path" game, mostly because if you get off the main road you're gonna get in a load of messy shit. Cordon is probably the second most anomaly filled map in the game, which is strange for a place that is right next to the edge of the Zone.
heh, you should see the cordon of people soup two times larger, two times more anomalies
How did they actually managed to stretch the maps in People Soup? I know that a few mods used a diffrent levelchanger positions, but that's about it.
Beta maps, herp. Cordon is way bigger, Bar road is three times longer, etc. Lost Alpha will have some self-made maps too.
All lost alpha maps are the 1935 maps, only more polished.
They remade Dead City and added some new shit to Garbage, at least the FAQ says so.
Lost Alpha better get released soon before I bite my arm off.
I just wish CoP would still have that ShoC atmosphere.
Maybe it would have if you already hadn't played Stalker to death.
Nah, CoP doesn't have the same feel to it that SoC did. SoC was quite overpopulated and the safe pathways were fairly narrow, plus there was a sense of progresssion throughout the whole thing. CoP feels more like they worked too hard on freeplay and forgot to put in a meaningful storyline, the open environments and few anomalies don't really give the same sense of the environment trying to kill you either.
I agree, yes, but CoP could feel pretty immersive if it was your first stalker.
