I just picked up Stalker: Call of Pripyat today. I haven't played Shadow of Chernobyl yet. Am I missing anything? I played for about three hours already, and my first impression is that it's kind of like Fallout 3, but not as silly and every section is the ghoul section. Scary as fuck. Especially at night time when snorks hide in the bushes and chase you off a god damn bridge.

Also, it acquaints you with the fundamentals of the STALKER series (anomalies, artifacts, etc) much better than CoP does.
Just let him play CoP first, SoC should be a somewhat pleasant surprise regardless.

Luckily I figured out that I needed to eat by myself. Everything else I know comes from the protips during loading screens because instruction booklets are for suckers.

http://filesmelt.com/dl/Rusty_Sound.ses Here is a old Adobe Audition project I did. It simulates a small old radio at a small distance. I think it sounds fantastic. Throw in your own songs in the first music track and listen. For those looking to put in custom songs into a stalker environment, this might be helpful. Old style music like classical/Big band/jazz/opera sound unbelievably real. There is a preset for Old radio, but I add in distortion/Gain/Peaking etc and some other stuff. Reverb sounds good, I like to use the Karaoke preset. Here is a comparison between the two: http://filesmelt.com/dl/24_True.mp3 http://filesmelt.com/dl/24_True_After.mp3

Hey guys I reinstalled SHoC so it would be vanilla and I installed SMP. But for some reason its giving me an AMK error? Expression : fatal error Function : CRender::texture_load File : E:\stalker\sources\trunk\xr_3da\xrRender\Texture.cpp Line : 295 Description : <no expression> Arguments : Can't find texture 'arsenal_mod\556x45_clip_g36' I have really bad luck with SHoC modding please help! Zezi.....
Arguments : Can't find texture 'arsenal_mod\556x45_clip_g36'
It doesn't surprise me that the game can't find a clip for a G36. Oh and that's not an AMK error. It just means the model is specifying a texture and the mod makers mistakingly forgot to include it. It's an Arsenal mod error that was caused by someone else. Maybe one of AMK's later variants but I don't remember AMK ever including Arsenal. Just download Arsenal mod and throw their textures folder over whatever you got now.
derp [editline]09:24AM[/editline] which SMP did you install? Did you update it to 2.4.9.9?
I got 2.4 FULL. I'll do what holden said.
I got these 3 pistols I absolutely love and carry with me everywhere 1911 silverbarrel in .45 that I use for doulbe tap and general gunfights in open FN HP MKIII in 9x19 which I use supressed OT-33 in 9x18 which I use when shit hits the fan. They're causing alot of logistical problems due to me having to carry around 3 different kinds of munitions, but I love them all equally. Alltought HP seems to lack double-tap capacity. Which one should I carry everywhere?

I always have rpoblems micromanaging until I reach FN FNC and Colt1911. [editline]01:54PM[/editline] also using smplite2.4 I get a crash the instant freedm are ambushed in army warehouses. Anyone know the cause?
I was just looking at pictures from LURK 1.1 and saw a picture with the return of red jelly. :byodood: Luckily it looks like the red stuff from the earlier Call of Duties.
Red Jelly invades Chernobyl.
Dun-dun-duuuuuuun. Edit: Page king :c00l:
I declare second post page king bow the down
I AM THIRD bow down. [editline]11:53AM[/editline] [sp]This page is shit.[/sp]
OTs-33 is the obvious choice. Such a tasty firearm.
Big Ben. :colbert:
Wasn't it Big Boy in OL? Has any mod had the name "Big Bird"?
This sounds like a bit of an arse move on my behalf but as soon as I download LURK 1.1, I'm gonna modify the carry weight to around 500kg and increase artifact slots to 20. [sp]Haters gonna hate.[/sp]
I would do the same if I could. I don't know shit about lua though so the best I can do is Ctrl+F weight.
I would do the same if I could. I don't know shit about lua though so the best I can do is Ctrl+F weight.
That's pretty much enough. Either weight or carry limit or something along those lines, probably in the actor file I think? I'm a bit of a masochist though, will be playing LURK 1.1 that way it was made. For some reason I don't mind keeping my hand on the quicksave and quickload buttons 24/7
LURK 1.1 better have improved hit points, I dont want to be making 4-8 shots from a Mosin Nagat into a chest of a bandit and then see him still standing. No matter what difficulty. Because when you enforce weight limit you have to balance out some other things so you would have to carry a reasonable amount of ammo with you. Running out of ammo in the middle of a gun fight while being miles away from any trader is a major pain in the ass. Especially if your enemies never carry your type of ammo.

So a mosin will probably drop a bandit in 1-2 shots I think, and accuracy won't be a problem in most cases. So should be cool. Worst comes to worst, mod it in yourself :) That's the beauty of STALKER mods; they are easily moddable and are distributed in a state where you can mod it, no archives needed to extract or decrypt or anything
I would do the same if I could. I don't know shit about lua though so the best I can do is Ctrl+F weight.
It's actually easy as hell. You don't need to know any LUA at all for basic stuff like that.
