Brits are super-arrogant bastards with stupid accents, American's are super-arrogant bastards that don't have a stupid accent, I think I'd rather have the Americans in games. The British accent if done sounds good though, but most of the time in games/movies they do it horribly and it sounds stupid.
Have you played Fable2 on the 360? I'm glad it's in british english. Gives so much more feeling to those ancient times portrayed in that game.
Killing Floor voice acting wasn't that annoying. And at times, entertaining.
Are you kidding? Playing that game with sound on makes me want to vomit.
Have you played Fable2 on the 360? I'm glad it's in british english. Because all of our actors/voice actors are too busy playing bad guys in films.
You mean the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) invented the Internet.
they invented ARPANET which is in fact the root of internet, since the currently used OSI model still refers to the original DOD-model (dod only had 4 layers, osi has 7). The commercial internet as we know today is only like 10% relevant to the original ARPAnet, heavily influenced by CERN and other universities. The main idea was to setup a huge military network that was self-sustainable. In case of a huge war where half of the network could've been blown away, the other half would still operate. This is what made TCP/IP today. [editline]07:09PM[/editline] Thanks for breaking my automerge, guys :)

Americans had the least ammount of casualties in WW2 but games are mostly made about them, 20% of Polish people died in WW2 but the only game to even mention them was COD3 in some tank brigade.
Bunch of hateful fucks ITT
MW2 Killing floor pretty big games if you ask me with big brit characters. maybe you brits should just get into the gaming business more instead of growing potatoes
We invented them. Some examples of games by British developers: Rare (Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, Diddy Kong Racing) Bullfrog (Theme Park, Theme Hospital) Free Radical Design/Crytek UK (Timesplitters) Lionhead (Fable, Black & White) DMA Design/Rockstar North (Lemmings, Grand Theft Auto, Manhunt) As characters, I don't think there's really a massive lack of them. Most games aren't set in or near Britain and if they are, there are plenty of us.

Well I have a southern accent. People say I sound like Ellis from l4d2 makes me sad. Anyway we need more Latino people in games. Might aswell say it since every one else is.

Only two of those games are popular nowadays, the rest were either were only popular for a short time after release or weren't talked about at all. Also some of those games are ancient and weren't even big games. Grand Theft Auto is amazing.
You're saying Goldeneye and Black & White weren't big for their time?
You're saying Goldeneye wasn't big for it's time?
I wasn't saying that.
This is why you never make a thread about countries. It turns into a stupid debate.
This is why you never make a thread about countries. It turns into a stupid debate.
Ditto this thread needs more on topic stuff.
Because those Americans develop the games, so they are obviously going to have American Characters over British Characters
Which hopefully people don't take as a negative thing, considering that most other countries would do the same.

Grand Theft Auto is amazing.
And yet they were all still better than 90% of the shit the rest of the worlds (mainly US) developers spew out. It would be interesting to see more British characters in games, but when we have some of the best developers, it's not really that big of a loss (shame a lot of them are having money trouble, we've lost a couple already).
It's like movies, British ones are often seen as modern classics more often than American ones are.
They're in Killing Floor DOSH, grab it while you can lads!
I like how this turned into a smorgasbord of debates between the British and Americans. Well, it was to be expected seeing as a lot of people have tissue paper feelings. I don't care what accent or what the main character looks like in video games, as long as the game isn't shit...
Money Money Money
"Yer all fur coat no knickers bitches!"
I want some Zimbabweans in my games. And some Japanese bad guys. Maybe some Malaysians too. Brits? That's like going into an ice cream shop and asking if they have any tar flavored ice cream with an extra topping of gravel and dog shit. Kidding.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY CHILDREN!?" Oh wait.
Not just Londoners, Yorkshiremen too, best accent.
This is something I find realy annoying Brits are uncommon nowadays in games, And when they are, they are either Old Coots (Tenpenny FO3) or right cockney fuckers (Kent Paul GTA). (CoD Doesnt count cause TF141 are Alright). Resistance FOM had some good Brits in it, Cartwright was a hard man who got stabbed by a 20ft spider and survived and the British snipers who when getting a kill had loads of quotes "RIGHT IN THE FUCKING CHOPS" But Why is it always Americans, Brits are just as good
Most games are developed in either America or Asia, so we're unfortunately left out most of the time.
Which hopefully people don't take as a negative thing, considering that most other countries would do the same.
I suppose, Killing Floor, all the characters are pretty much Stereotyped accent Brits, like myself. It would be cool, if each game made like a foreigner to the region or something, say like a Tourist or Immigrant or something along the lines, i dunno
CERN couldn't have done their work on the web without The ARPANET, an american creation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hIQjrMHTv4
