wat?.. oh yeah there was one wasn't there.
FYI, they were called Trench Guns.
Half Life 2, Ravenholm, no problems with zombies.
L4D1. Autoshotty is so useful because a shot penetrates a whole horde, and you have so much ammo you can spam at far away targets and easilty take them out. You can reload while melee-ing, too.
Quake 3
Fear 2.
L4D 1 and 2 and the halo series

battlefield 2
The Chronicles of Riddick games. The shotgun was pretty much a guaranteed kill if you got in a firefight, it had great damage, decent spread, a fast fire rate and a quick reload time. It also made compensating with the games horrendously slow bullets much easier, unlike the assault rifle.
L4D for sure. It is the most versatile gun in the game.
L4d1.
STALKER. You can load slug and dart ammunition into most shotguns in the game giving them rifle-like performance.
HL1. I wuv my shawtty. :3:
Mw2.
The automatic shotgun in any of the GTA games So damn handy [editline]05:28PM[/editline] The automatic shotgun in any of the GTA games So damn handy
Fallout 3: When your gauss rifle runs out of cells, your assault rifle out of clips, and the raiders are closing in, it is a godsend.
CSS one hit kill for headshot
Not to mention half the time you can practically snipe with the shotgun in CSS.
All of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, but I find especially Call of Pripyat. I barricaded myself in a room and took out an entire 15 bandit camp when they tried to get to me. Using the stryker.

[editline]06:20PM[/editline] And with Oblivion Lost the first time I fired the winchester it scared me because it's so loud. :haw:
At close ranges (Which every underground place is) they just obliterate everything.
I discovered this the hard way, multiple times :frown: Shotguns are pretty damn useful on Bad company 2, with buckshot, excellent for clearing rooms and taking out enemies repairing active tanks so you can safely C4 them. With slugs loaded, they are essentially sniper rifles, and are capable of going straight through both users on quads, and sometimes killing passengers at the same time as drivers in jeeps.
Half Life 2, Ravenholm, no problems with zombies.
Yeah, in Half Life 2 the shotgun was key.
Modern Warfare 2. At least for me.
Spelunky, as long as you are the one who's carrying it.
Marathon 2+infinity. It functions like the 1887 but you reload by spinning it like the Terminator, making it the most amazing gun ever.
half life 1 deathmatch right click, win match
Bioshock, Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3 On a side note, the ones in Mercenaries 2 were fucking useless.
AvP 2. I don't use that noob Smart Gun bullshit.
GTA IV shotgun
Rainbow Six Vegas. I stuck a rifle scope on a shotgun as a joke and my friend said, "you'll never hit anyone with that!" For no apparent reason, as I ran out of the room he yelled, "SHOOP DA WHOOP!" and I managed to shoot some bad guy about 50 metres away IN THE FACE using the scope on the shotgun. Most accurate shot with a shotgun ever.
