Because I pwn noob ass and my skill is unmatched.
Cool, can you like me to that aimbot?
I loved it when surfing was still big. [editline]18th March 2011[/editline] and not surf_greatriver but maps like surf_vegetables or surf_ny_somethingsomething
I like CS:S for it's quick 5 minute gameplay.
cs 1.6 gets boring after playing for a long time, but i like to play on surf maps sometimes
Sorry, but it doesn't make ANY sense. The game is boring, repetitive, simple, repetitive, no team play, shitty graphics, shitty sounds, shitty gameplay and it's repetitive too. So... What's the big deal? Oh yeah, rate me "frowny faces" all you want, I really don't give a crap.
Anyway, Half-Life has bad graphics, so other mods based on it will too. And after you beat it(Half-Life), it's repetitive, Yet it is still one of the highest ranking games on most top ten FPS games lists I've seen. The gameplay is just basic Team vs. Team, which is the same as TF2, CoD, UT, and basicly every competitive multiplayer game out there. And the sounds are fine. Your argument is invalid. I played 1.6 for 2 years back in 2004-2005. I loved it to death. I never liked the "pro" side of the community - I would play in "pubs" as they were called, I think? Usually play De_Dust2 or Office. I never once joined a clan, and I had around 500 hours on the game. In my second year of playing I discovered a server called Kingpin. It was essentially a "fun" server where we played custom maps. I usually did very well at these because I had a lot of experience from playing so much "pub" servers during my first year, but it was a really relaxed community where you could just have fun. It wasn't all about kdr. I upgraded my computer after my second year of 1.6 and finally bought CSS in 2006. This was my first experience with source. At first I was weary of switching to CSS - I didn't like the changes it brought, and the maps just didn't feel right to me. But I quickly discovered what makes CSS awesome - the gametypes that the community has made. I discovered a community called SteamGamers, or SG. They had tons of servers - Zombie escape, surf, prison break, hide and seek, ect. I had found a community much like Kingpin.. it was amazing. Such a laid back experience, I usually spent my time rotating between their "fun" server, zombie escape, and jail break. They would always be populated with people. The community got so large, they got two zombie escape servers, with 40 player slots I believe. Most fun I've had with a source game. Then in the summer of 2010 I moved, and lost the ability to play online games, because my latency from satellite internet renders it impossible to play.. I was playing CSS all the way up until July 2010, which is when I moved. That's my experience with CS. I've been a very casual but dedicated player since 2004, and it's been a great experience. Don't let the "community" ruin it for you, you just need to find the right servers that suit you.
At OP: Yeah just because you don't like it, it totally wouldn't make any sense if others did.
Please for the love of god change your avatar, im sorry to thread derail, but the black plague shits me up the wall so far im practically tasting wallpaper
I love Counter Strike: Source. There are many different ways to play, and I played in pretty much practice pubs with 16k. I admit, it was a little frustrating at first, but it provided immense thrill when you get lucky or your aim is good for just this once. I switched and started playing on Deathmatch servers, annoyed at the respawn time. After getting satisfied with killing a lot of people, I switched back to the main game. I was really good, but then again, I was still only playing in a pub. I personally like some of the communities, mostly admins can be pleasant if they don't abuse their power. Then I switched to the modified versions of the game. Most of what I played then was minigame, most of them were fun, and I liked how it stuck to CS:S. That had charm to me. All sorts of different types of minigames to play, you could barely classify it as its own game mode. Then, well, I got TF2. I haven't touched CS:S in a while, but mostly because I was obsessed with the item system. Then well, I mellowed out and played TF2 normally. I prefer TF2, but CS:S still has a place in my heart.
Sick of french people. HORDES of them on CS:S now, best way to ruin a good game... I came here to rant, rant over.
Because the game has absoloutely perfect balence, pacing, skill requirements and teamwork required.
lol
He's right, It's not like a cod game where you can just spray a whole hallway with bullets and win, a single shot with a pistol from a player with good aim will end you. And a team that combines both teamwork and aim will roll over anything.
I like it, what's so stupid about it? Still more fun than CoD.
I like CSS mostly because of gamemodes like gungame which are extremely fast paced and loads of fun
He's right, It's not like a cod game where you can just spray a whole hallway with bullets and win, a single shot with a pistol from a player with good aim will end you.
lol
That's actually true because people who have been playing for years will ALWAYS dominate everything because a lot of being good at the game is how fast you can react and aim at their head. You can't just start spraying and hope to do well.
I bought CSS and played it for about for an hour then never touched it again. The only reason I got it was because I wanted the content for Garry's mod.
Because claaa of dutty black cocks is better!!!11
I know where your coming from with the whole CS is shit thing, but for me I think I love it because it was the first online game I played on PC. Theres something about it, all the memory's of me and my buddy's going down to the LAN cafe and playing it. Just love it, although I don't play as much any more, I just love it, but I know why people would hate it.
The CS:S Beta is a tad bit rebalanced (plus it has that new testing crosshair that is very awesome for knowing when you should lay of the spread), so I prefer it to 1.6 or normal CS:S. But I still suck. :saddowns:
I occasionally play with bots, exclusively on my own vanilla listen server. All of those server side modifications like mani and HLStatsx are fucking annoying, and so are the kiddies and retards that are so prevalent in the community. I swear to god my Blacklist is longer than my server list.
There are too many children these days being fed bullshit baby games so they aren't use to real games like cs.
shitty graphics, shitty sounds, shitty gameplay
I've got no idea what ya have against graphics and sounds, but i admit it is just replaying the same thing again & again & again
I feel sorry for Tactical Ops : Assault On Terror. It was basically UT99's Counter Strike and it blew CS out of the water. CS overshadowed TO though, making it mainly forgotten and unknown. I still play it every now and then
Yeah I hate CSS with a passion. All people play is dust2 or office. Funny how almost no one on my friends list actually play it, but almost all of them own it xD Edit: And the sound quality is horrible, especially the footsteps. And all servers are 16k start, stupid hlstatx spam, annoying text notifications in the center of the screen for "KILLING SPRUSEHEEHE 1!/11/!!"
Realism isn't fun. 1.6/CSS with GunGame and WC3, and small shit like surfing makes the game enjoyable on many different levels.
I find CS alright, but only ones without WCS and RPGmod, they just remove why I like the game, its completely balanced, you are all equal if you use the same gun with the exception of if your wearing kevlar
It's old and I've heard the sounds and seen the textures in every source and gmod game not to mention I played CS for a while myself. Honestly, it was great at the time, but I'm just sick of it now.
How to play counter stirke and have fun: 1) Buy grenade. 2) Hold left click (Do not let go at any point in time!). 3) Run into enemy.
