Is the icarus book good? Also I am on the [sp]Panchea level[/sp] [sp] And damn it I am seriously freaking out. The atmosphere is so tense and all those bodies and diary logs don't help at all. Well at least I convinced Hugh Darrow to give me the codes[/sp]
The Icarus effect is a good read, it serves primarily to add character to the Mercs who attacked Sarif. It also has a lot of nods to Deus Ex 1 as a whole, but Adam isn't involved bar a passing mention.

After playing through the game three times, I never figured out what his codes actually do. After looking at a guide, I see they do very little.
Hmm, never got around to buying the Missing Link, worth it?
At least wait for a sale.
As I'm nearing end of Deus Ex I just can't see how this game could ever be remade. I know there aren't any plans for it but seeing how old this game is and how much it has to offer is incredible.
Finished the first game last night, great game. Started on Invisible War, trying to get it to look decent at my resolution is fucking annoying, and the Steam overlay wont work so I've got 6 minutes of playtime clocked after playing for an hour.

I beat The Missing Link a few days ago. It was incredible for a DLC, I'm surprised I got 7 hours out of a DLC considering most full games are 6 hours at best
This is random as fuck, but am I the only one that wants Adam's jacket?

I don't think it was ever intended as a replica, they just said "We know you all like trenchcoats so here's one we can sell".
Yeah, the one they sell I think isn't at all made out of leather, doesn't have the flower pattern on shoulders and overall is a different style.
Yesterday I finished Deus Ex and went with [sp]Helios ending. I was sure I wouldn't help the Illuminati to regain power again. I was at first considering the new dark age but I felt it was maybe too extreme. Then Helios wanted to talk with me and even though there is a risk the AI could turn evil, with JC I think I'd give the world an entity with ruling capabilities no human government or Illuminati could match and with goal to help the people.[/sp]
That picture has made me realise just how small everyones heads are in Human Revolution. What gives? I know they said it was artistic direction, but what did they gain from such tiny heads?

I think the only character that has decent voice acting is Paul.

beans might be useful. [editline]12th April 2012[/editline] god damn it, that's one video I'm never ever going to get out of my head
stick with the prod, prod with the prod
I'm a bit sad I didn't get "What a shame." and "A bomb!" in my first walkthrough. [sp]Yes, that means Jock died. And it pisses me off because I knew the mechanic was fishy but didn't know what to do about him.[/sp]
stick with the prod, prod with the prod
just in case though, we'er police

Gunther's in that room. Remember that a headshot's a lethal takedown.

Well at least I convinced Hugh Darrow to give me the codes[/sp]
Icarus Effect is a very good read The story is a little better than the main game IMO actually, for the most part. The characters are all rather fleshed out, and I personally found the two protagonists in Icarus Effect more interesting then Jensen and his girl. It also gives depth to the actual Mercs who you fight against in HR, which was VERY SORELY lacking in the actual game, and it really surprised me that they didn't flesh them out at all actually in-game. [editline]12th April 2012[/editline]
Just finished it and the missing link with around 36 hours in total. :v: It was a great game. Are the stories in the first two just as good? I think I'll also buy the Icarus effect book.
2nd game is allright, not bad all-around. First game is one of the best games of all time, and has a really brilliantly executed story IMO. It has some legitimately shocking twists that make you go "OH MY GOD" and stuff in it. Some of the twists (not all!!) are going to be obvious though after playing DX:HR.
[sp]As far as I know if you don't do anything about the mechanic you don't find A BOMB and Jock then dies at Area 51. That's what happened in my playthrough. Oh, and I let Paul die... At first I stayed to protect him but he basically killed all the enemies so I thought he would be okay if I let him alone. Yeah so much for that...[/sp] I'll keep using spoiler tags, it's a part of the story I think you should experience without knowing it beforehand. EDIT: And I agree, DE:HR really failed at giving the bosses some personality. Given their position and employers I can see it was hard for the Tyrants to interact with Jensen differently and it would require quite a lot of story or missions to be added (from a gamer's point of view I'd be all for that).
In DE1 I collected cigarettes thinking I'd eventually be able to give them to an NPC or something, and it turned out they were useless. I kept thinking I could sell them because of Fallout 3.
