I want good ol' JC back, not Helios'd dumb philosopher from Invisible War.
Which means..
DX1 remake! On new engine! I'm sure you want this.

We don't want Deus Ex remade simply because it's a shining beacon of an older generation of games. If anything besides the visuals is changed then the game will lose its identity from that classic late 90s/early 00s-era of gaming. It'd also kill us a bit to see the classic with lobbed on regen health and cover mecahnics.
If anything gets changed here, the hardcore fans will come down on the developers like a ton of augmented limbs. Some fans were opposed to many of Deus Ex: Human Revolution's design decisions such as the third-person cameras and one-button-press takedown moves, so they'd no doubt be up in (augmented) arms if the beloved original was tinkered with any way.
Human Revolution showed that you can make a sequel that stays true to the original whilst also being playable in today's generation of games. Like Monkey Island, we'd rather not see a remake of Deus Ex. Leave it alone, and let us remember it and look back on it with fond memories and move on. We'd much rather see a new Deus Ex sequel.
Possibly for some parts, but assuming it's a "the making of" that doesn't really work. Might just be like that giant dude from game of thrones, some ridiculously huge actor.
I played throught Deus Ex HR now.
[sp] When you get to China for the last time, I decided to get that biochip upgrade. When you fight Namir, your augments get blocked because of that.
Does the same happen if you dont get that upgrade?
I was also able to save Flygirl. What happens before you fly to panchaea with the rocket, who saves the scientists if you didnt save Malik?[/sp]

Might want to spoiler tag that. [sp]*content*[/sp]

I guess so. Well, maybe not remaking first DX, but remake IW to remind people about it, since many doesn't even give a shit about IW, yet it's actually good.

Maybe this time they won't bake the PC loading screens.

Oh yeah, those FUCKING SMALL levels.

[sp]If you don't get the biochip upgrade, you won't get messed up during Namir's fight.[/sp]
[sp]And from what I recall, there's no pilot if you don't save Malik, the scientists board the helicopter and presumably one of them takes control of it.[/sp]

[sp]But weren't all augmented people the victim of the signal? Did the biochip just open more possibilities for control? Why the upgrade at all if you could make peoples body hurt by just sending a signal.[/sp]

It wasn't meant to do that, [sp]Darrow interfered to make it drive them insane[/sp]

This. Hence why [sp]the Sarif Industries employees who had received Frank's 'cure' weren't affected.[/sp]
I met the guy who voiced our protagonist. Really cool guy, I helped him get past the police station level.

Wait, you mean you met Elias Toufexis?
I praised his "growling" as Adam Jensen, got a RT for it. Life now complete.

He managed to avoid making it too "grr hardcore hollywood military hero", too.
That he did. Some hilarious deadpan was delivered too.
Now I know how Dugas is so awesome. And why the game works so well.
Game director Jean-Francois Dugas said:
“It’s because of my breakfast cereal ritual! First, the “healthy” low sugar cereals go at the bottom of the bowl. Then, the somewhat healthy but not too much go in the middle. And I finish the bowl with a coating of junk cereals (i.e. Captain Crunch). And to make it all work together, I fill the bowl with almond milk! This is how you extract the awesomeness of awesome!”
Just started playing this game after 12+ hours downloading
Damn this game is amazing. Has that Deus Ex feel in it
But all the video cutscenes are extremely lowres for me for some reason.
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
And without using DirectX 11 my graphics go all wireframey

The pre-rendered cutscenes are like that for everyone.
What graphics card do you have?
[sp]Seems that killing everything on Pancheaea or whatever was the right ending. Did you hear about Sarif in DX1? I am sure you did not. So it kills the new characters and slowly becomse DX1's storyline.[/sp]
Also, I got my pacifist walkthrough killed because some hobo just died right in front of me and the game autosaved (it always autosaves in that house where the former detective works as a guard). When I exited the house, it autosaved once again. That's how I dropped my second walkthrough.
spoilers
Also yeah pacifist breaks if ANYONE dies near you, the game automatically blames you. But then, did you find the body? Why didn't you call an ambulance, or the police? Did anyone else see him die? Can I take your fingerprints, please?
It's [sp]spoilershere[/sp], and [sp]all the endings can be canon[/sp]
Q: How come we didn't find out more about some story aspects like Eliza's background and information on White Helix, as well as in game information on the tyrants. Was this left mostly as easter eggs towards Deus Ex and The Icarus Effect?
A: “No, not really. Our original intention was to enable players to learn more about Eliza and the Tyrants by exploring specific locations and finding books, emails, and/or characters who might be able to tell you more about them. But we needed to have locations in the game where it made sense to find this information, first. For a long time, we planned to have an entire mission take place inside Belltower headquarters – the most logical place to learn about the Tyrants. We also planned a more extensive mission in the city of Montreal, where you would discover a lot more information about Eliza. Unfortunately, late in production we realized had to scale back, and both of these locations got axed. By then it was difficult to find places where it made sense to uncover this information. So it ended up getting cut.”

One of the things that annoyed me was how the boss characters had very little character developments.
Most of it was in the book, I think.
I need to get that book.

Mine aren't low-res at all, just they stutter constantly to the point of not being watchable.

It's what they did before, so it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it.
Wait, you mean you met Elias Toufexis?
Yes, had two conversations on two separate occasions with him.

H'okay...
take it take it take it
It's pump action if you know what I mean.
I picked this game up again recently. I tried the no-kill run (and failed, no idea where), so now I'm doing the murder everything run. Every guard, civilian, punk, robot, etc.
It's really, really hard - just got through the police station, and was super sad to find your old SWAT-mate among the bodies, with his sad PDA message.
