Anyone think they could use the guy from Icarus Effect?
Gunther?
I wonder if they can pull off a female protagonist.
I wonder if they can pull off a female protagonist.
Don't see why not.
If you discount the idea of Adam Jensen returning as a protagonist there's extreme potential for a sequel. [sp]It could be set in the chaos post-HR just after all the augs started killing everyone, the world in disarray, people paranoid of technology in general, everything grinds to a halt and no-one is exactly sure what is going to happen next[/sp]
Maybe the next game will be placed around the idea of development of nano-augmentations, Page and [sp]Megan[/sp]? [editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
Don't see why not.
inbefore it's true and you'll ask the devs to include a big tits augmentation.
Maybe the next game will be placed around the idea of development of nano-augmentations, Page and [sp]Megan[/sp]?
Eh thing is that happens literally right before DX1 starts. Paul was the first prototype, so that's a lot of time to fill between HR and Nanoaugmentation technology.
inbefore it's true and you'll ask the devs to include a big tits augmentation.
I want tits with those blades that Jensen had in his arms
Fembot augmentations
inbefore it's true and you'll ask the devs to include a big tits augmentation.
I don't really care if the protagonist is male or female as long as they're actually a decent character.
Jordan Shea?
Jordan Shea?
The bar tender at the tavern? She was some sort of veteran, correct?
The bar tender at the tavern? She was some sort of veteran, correct?
Ex-Unatco mechanically augmented woman. She never reveals why she left so that could be explored in a game.
Gunther?
Nah, the Ben Saxon guy.
Was anyone else expecting Jensen to say "Your move creep" at least once in the game?
Jensen awayyy~~
Ben Saxon is too much of a brute force kind of guy and his ideals/motives have already been chosen in the book. They need blank slate characters each time to allow you to choose what you want to do.
I think I remember reading somewhere that they're already considering a sequel. Personally I think they should treat it as a completely seperate game (In the same universe of course) rather than a direct sequel.
A grim-dark setting that explores the collapse of society would work perfectly. They could hit the atmosphere DX1 had while mixing in stuff from DXHR.
What if the new game went for a twist and put the player working for illuminati.
What if the new game went for a twist and put the player working for illuminati.
You don't really "Work" for the illuminati. You'd either be part OF the illuminati or unintentionally working on their behalf.
Book spoilers in case anyone still hasn't read it but [sp]Namir knew full well who he was working for the entire time and really, he had no control over it.[/sp]
That's interesting. But still I don't imagine many people would want to play a protagonist working for the Illuminati. Unless it's like JC and UNATCO and you find out about your "Employers" part way through.
What if they made a hitman with a golden heart type protagonist who is employed by triads who are the puppets of illuminati and then goes through the usual deus ex cycle of finding out and rebelling :v:
Deus Ex gameplay director "truly sorry" about the boss fights
"We should have put more effort into them" Francois Lapikas, gameplay director of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has apologised for the notoriously difficult boss fights in Eidos Montreal's reimagining of the PC classic. Speaking in a post-mortem of the game at GDC (via Game Informer), Lapikas admitted the development team should have spent more time and effort on them, and promised to do so "next time." "[The boss fights] were a big part of the game, and we should have put more effort into them. I'm truly sorry about that. Next time we're gonna think about it more," he said. According to the director, the boss fights were treated as a "thing to break up the pacing more than a way to test the player's skill", which is what most games traditionally design boss battles to do. Lapikas admitted "play tests did flag the boss fights as a problem" but claimed "they didn't flag the severity of it" and the team believed the weapons and ammo found in each battle would compensate for the difficulty level. Shortly after the release of DX: HR, Square Enix revealed the game sold through 2.18 million copies in US and Europe. If you haven't played it yet, you should. Now.
You could just take potshots at the other two and last one was way too easy with those automatic unlocking devices.
I foud only the Mantis or whatshername to be difficult. You could just take potshots at the other two and last one was way too easy with those automatic unlocking devices.
The AUDs are DLC though, and all the bosses are hard if you're focused on stealth.
The AUDs are DLC though, and all the bosses are hard if you're focused on stealth.
True. It took me forever to beat the second one because i kept dying from the floor getting shocked or that Typhoon spam.
The AUDs are DLC though, and all the bosses are hard if you're focused on stealth.
They are all beatable, I had to do a couple of them with a pistol and a couple of stun and emp grenades because I didn't know to prepare. They weren't overly difficult. I had no combat augs at all.

The second boss battle was easy for me since someone warned me to get the Electricity immunity aug.
Francois Lapikas, gameplay director of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has apologised for the notoriously difficult boss fights in Eidos Montreal's reimagining of the PC classic.
It wasn't the difficulty that bothered me, it's the fact that they're unavoidable. That was a big part of the original.
