Are the aliens in Crysis 2 the same aliens as the ones in Crysis 1 and Warhead?
Yes and no. They're not the annoying blue flying ones, but they're the same species. More humanoid.

Same species but they use bi-pedal exoskeletons instead of airborne exoskeletons. Also, for some reason they're red now.

If I read the Crysis Wiki page on the aliens correctly, it said that they genetically modified themselves to operate in our atmosphere, the red pigment was a side effect of the modification.
Makes sense since you never saw the exposed flesh of the Crysis 1 Ceph outside the mountain/ship.

I like the blue ones better. They feel more.. mysterious.
I hope they didn't completely take away the flying ones.
The aliens in Crysis 1 were horribly annoying to fight. Strength mode punching was more effective than actually shooting them.
The aliens in Crysis 2 don't look annoying like the first ones.

Most flawed post I've read in a month.

Sadly, the only things that you will probably see flying, are the Dropships and the Gunships. From what I've seen from gameplay it looks like they completely threw the squid-like exoskeletons out the window. The only thing that still remains squid-like, is the aliens exposed flesh that you can see coming out the back of the ground units.
Also, I think the reason why they changed the Ceph is because half the game you were fighting Koreans and you learned tactics to specifically take on bi-pedal units. Then once the game changed to have airborne enemies, everything you learned was basically useless on the Ceph. But still, that kind of adds to the point of having an unknown enemy so you have to change your tactics. It's debatable if it was a good choice on Cryteks behalf but personally, I'm perfectly fine with either.

Didn't exactly make the best sentences there but you get the point. Shooting the aliens in the first Crysis was pointless.

experience fighting Crysis 1 aliens: terrible
experience fighting Crysis 2 aliens: none
says Crysis 1 aliens were terrible to fight
says Crysis 2 aliens don't look as terrible to fight, yet no experience
??
Keyword being look.
I've just seen videos of fighting them, I never played the leak. They look less annoying to fight.

:fappery:
It was alright... up until the singing started. Ugh.
But why reserve a copy? Game's are not precious commidities - most stores will almost never run out of game even on release day
I've rocked up to a store a couple of times on release day and said they were sold out.
So that's not always the case.

It has a nice beat to it. The singing is average and it gets especially worse near the end when he starts whispering.
Can't decide between purchasing this... or Homefront. Want to see if final PC version is still gimped with DX9.
From what I've heard on the MyCrysis forums, a patch will be released when the game comes out, which will add DX11. I don't know how reliable this is because there isn't any solid word from Crytek.
Far Cry... DX8,DX9
Crysis and Warhead.. DX9, DX10
Crysis 2... DX9?
Let's hope and pray that isn't the case. I do not understand why Crytek is being so vague on this..
There's no real difference between 9, 10 and 11.
Crysis 2 comes out in 7 days and I get my paycheck in 6 days. :smug:

Crysis has DX10. That was one of the big draws. It was like that first game to try your fancy new 8800GTX on.
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
And they already said DX11 is in Crysis but comes out after the game.
Yeah that is what I said.. it's like going backwards. If Crysis 2 only ships with DX9, I'll be sorely disappointed.
And for "no difference in DX versions", go play Metro 2033 on all the different versions and then report back :)
Oh sorry, read your post wrong.
But the reason, I believe, that the demo doesn't have DX10 or 11 is 'cause it uses 360 assets which also uses DX9
The pistol is goddamn fucking useless because it takes years to pull out

10 days in Europe.
Who is all the European demo servers put down?
I think they shut down the PC demo servers.
Oh, shit. Did they? I'll be severely pissed. My new 6870 just arrived today... That's bullshit D:
