At least it will grab the attention of wannabe gangsters when they're watching TV. Any attention to this game is positive because I haven't seen any advertising anywhere.

You only say that because you don't like rap. *insert that =P emote here because I forgot the code for it and FP doesn't want to tell me...*
Also, it sounds more like rastafarian jamaican music than rap. But that's probably because the singer sounds very jamaican.

The original Crysis did well without that. Any attention isn't always positive.
I'm going to wait till people try out the singleplayer.
In my opinion the Crysis 1 campaign wasn't too great (gameplay wise)
I enjoyed the Crysis 2 MP demo, but that alone isn't worth $70.
Lot's have played the singleplayer. From what I've heard most people who have played it liked it.
I haven't been able to join a single match in the PS3 demo

I didn't think it was that out of place. Then again I am suffering from the effects of sleep deprivation.
I mean the lyrics were about New York. I think.
[editline]16th March 2011[/editline]
I think its a cover New York, New York by Frank Sinatra by a rapper. Sort of like the first trailer where they covered that song with Polly Scattergood.

every trailer has a variation of new york
As I've been absent from most of the thread to avoid spoilers, I found an OPM review giving it an 8/10 citing one of its weaknesses being a campaign that "only picked up after the fifth hour."
Well, that automatically makes it longer than most fps campaigns now. Unless it ends an hour later or something.
Also I know a ton of you have already played through the singleplayer so don't tell me how long it is.
That trailer is kinda shitty with the rap...
Anyway, I am very sure we will get DX10 on the PC, and most likely will get DX11 aswell.
It's Crytek, not IW or something... And even then, its obvious that we would get DX10 on the PC.
the more i listen to that trailer the less stupid it sounds, but it's got that fanmade trailer feel to it. like the song is too loud and clear and there's still background noise so it feels like whoever put it together decreased the original sound and slapped a rap song over the top
I was just thinking about how Hybrid songs would fit perfectly in the game, but it looks like that Crytek had the same idea before me with the multiplayer intro video.

Wow, no one is on the PS3 demo. I have been stuck waiting for players every time I try to play it.
The PS3 demo is horrid. Having played it on a PC with a great framerate on advanced-settings and a good resolution, it looks horrible and runs like shit. The fps drops every now and then, and with nanovision it goes to 10 and below. The resolution is so small that it makes nanovision even more useless. Even on a 40-inch Full-HD TV I can't see enemies further than maybe 5m from myself with nanovision. On my 20-inch PC- monitor I use nanovision especially to spot enemies from a distance. Not going to happen in the PS3-version.
Good thing I preordered the PC-version.
There's no real difference between 9, 10 and 11.
:v:
Why does the pinger's animation in the new trailer look so laggy? I noticed this in the leak, but with other animations too.
Only so many days until release
I'm having mixed feelings about this game
Noob question.. can a 5870 run DX 11 smoothly?
Because I ran Crysis maxed out with 40-60 fps smooth but I can't even run Metro 2033 maxed out with DX 11 on, even DX10 gets a little graphical lag < 30 fps.
It's been a long while and maybe I need to clean my computer to keep temperatures low? I don't think so though..
Is there some 'driver' or something I can download to run DX11 smoothly or is it a matter of hardware?
It never hurts to update drivers but otherwise it's probably just a matter of hardware. DX11 features are pretty resource intensive.

Temperatures and drivers don't affect performance enough to where it will be noticeable; temperatures that cause your card to throttle itself will, however.
A 5870 can't max out Crysis at 1920x1080 with an average framerate over 40, and Metro 2033, for whatever reason, is just a lot more intensive on your hardware.
Not a matter of DirectX version, more so of how the program uses it.
There's no real way to tell how any card is going to run Crysis 2 maxed out in DX11, so you'll just have to wait and see. You're safe with a 5870 though.

What? I did max out Crysis. It was 1920 x 1200 too.
I love Hans Zimmer.

Christ that sounds beautiful.
:unsmith: I was happy running Crysis at 1600x900 High, on an 460GTX (Free Performance boost)
