i assumed the demo was something whipped up pretty quick so we got to have a taste, but it seems the demo was the actual game. the actual god damn game with press start to begin and everything still in there
i'm almost laughing at how little effort seems to have been put into the pc version

I think you misread that. They still ported the Xbox demo to the PC, they were just fixing it up post-release to make it more like the PC version.
I don't understand why everybody's making a big deal over "press start to begin." Sure, it's not necessary but it's not like its game-ruining.

it implies little effort was put into the PC version and it's a direct port from the consoles
Disappointed at the PS3 demo.
Some of the changes included in our day 1 patch and retail version will be;
i took this as meaning without the patch that will be released on the 22nd (or whenever the game comes out), the game will be exactly the same as the demo was when it was released
the changes they listed are what they fixed in the demo and will be fixing in the pc version. you would think they wouldn't even have press start to begin in the retail version if they'd put a decent amount of effort into it

But the demo was. The game isn't.
Every game has some bugs on release day. Due to feedback, we fixed a good few before the full game was even released. They're probably packing the fixes in a patch since the game is only a week away and it's too late to add them in now. Sure "Press start to begin", and aim-assist shouldn't have been in the game in the first place but still, we wont have to deal with the other actual issues in the full version.
After MW2, Bad Company 2, Black Ops, and now Homefront, if "Press Start to Begin" is the worst thing about Crysis 2 at launch, I could live with that.
I love Hans Zimmer.

are you sure this is actually hans?
i read the hans stuff was just rumours and none of the music is actually hans zimmer
[editline]17th March 2011[/editline]
it doesn't sound like hans zimmer either
There is an official posting on mycrysis.
god damnit i'm looking forward to this
haven't been this excited for a game in a loong time

Crytek are completely contradicting themselves here. They had an article earlier about the music of Crysis 2, and Hans Zimmer wasn't one of the composers (I think he only did one track). Sounds like they're just trying to ramp up the hype a bit.
EDIT: Yep:
Borislav Slavov, Tilman Silescu and Campbell Askew are the real composers. Zimmer and Balfe did first and* last track, just to raise PR potential of this score.
Well I mean MW2 did the same thing
Well I mean MW2 did the same thing
Sure, but that's MW2 :P
I like this one better.

So there's a guy on YouTube who's been uploading Crysis 2's soundtracks for a while now, it sounds promising
I would really like to get this but I'm still worried about the servers, does anybody know just how customisable they will be? and if there is any chance of non-gameserver hosted dedicated server.exe?
Would like to have a server where you could use mods/sandbox changes/ game balance changes in multiplayer (Even if it’s unranked non xp type)
For example being able to disable/ mod that nano vision as I dont think you should be able to see cloaked players - that’s what cloak tracker is for ><
Would have thought they would have let people have the server client, otherwise it's going to really hurt multiplayer mods.

Most likely for the PC version
They said no dedicated server files. Servers can only be rented. Which is bullshit and completely destroys any multiplayer modding ability.

Not that I want to be a jerk, but you're so late to say this is beautiful.
Oh, and a new official gameplay is here:

Looks like we can customize alot of stuff now.
looks amazing.

This is what I feared :(
Shame really, the tools looked like something I could get behind - but having to potentialy design your own server architecture is far beyond any mod skill I have. Back to RO2 being the main thing I'm looking forward to this year then.

Holy shit, that bullshit. :saddowns:
Bad Company 2 did the same thing, and no one cared after a week.
Bad Company 2 did the same thing, and no one cared after a week.
It'll be the exact same situation here most likely...
Bad Company 2 did the same thing, and no one cared after a week.
Except Crysis 2 has modding capabilities. Bad Company 2 does not.
Bad Company 2 did the same thing, and no one cared after a week.
BC2 did not have awesome mod tools though.
So, wait, they are releasing mod tools to customize your experience, but won't let us share our mods with other people?
Crytek :psyduck:
