Pre-ordered it on Steam. $59.99. Fucking che-wait...
whoa, that's £37 you got ripped off
whoa, that's £37 you got ripped off
Pretty much, yeah. But I prefer buying my games on Steam rather than retail, and I'm pretty sure it's too late to re-pre-order it somewhere else. So I guess I'll just deal with it.
I'm debating whats worse. P2P or Rent-only dedicated servers. The rent only has actually hosting power and runs better than P2P on an astronomical scale. But P2P has the "server" files in the clients hands and has online modding potential. Sure MW2 did not see official modding, but there are some mods that get played in private matches, you just have to look harder.
Really? You must be crazy. You are actually wondering if modding potential is better then dedicated server power? MW2 had nice modding capabilities, but the fact that it was P2P completly fucked it over. The lag sometimes was unbearable, the people with the good connection always won because of the delay the others had, host migration, host migration failure and kicking of old host... I could go on a bit more. Modding capabilities won't do you good when youre playing with some guy warping around or when youre getting bum raped by someone with better internet then you. Give me dedi servers. I don't care if they require human sacrifices, but if you are going to murder the MP part of the game with P2P... Well, the SP still saves it I think... about the sandbox: Why exactly wouldn't we get the new sandbox with the game like we did with Crysis?
Can you activate your retail version on steam?
I'm contemplating not buying this at all now, there's no editor included and DX10/11 support has been confirmed untrue, someone in Sweden has the game. Oh well, when they give us what we are entitled to I'll reconsider but for now they can stick their shitty console port up their ass.
Can you activate your retail version on steam?
Nope. Confirmed via twitter.
Can you activate your retail version on steam?
This article contains every single game that can be activated in Steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601
I just preordered for £19.35 from https://www.gamepointsnow.com/points/Crysis-2-PC-Key Cheap!
Got it from D2D during Pres Day (they had 20% off everything). It ended up being $48 which is badass.
there is an editor you idiot if you're on about the xbox version, that doesn't deserve an editor PC needs SOMETHING for it to be worth buying
Far Cry 1/2 editors....?
there is an editor you idiot if you're on about the xbox version, that doesn't deserve an editor PC needs SOMETHING for it to be worth buying
What about superior graphics and controls?

You aren't entitled to shit.
You are what's wrong with the gaming community. You aren't entitled to shit.
Pretty much this, you're entitled to a game they make for you... nothing more.
I already pre-ordered a 12 slot server. Will upgrade to 16 slots if I have to. So far I find the to be a fresh alternative to BC2, if only because of the jumping and power sliding in the game. Also, the visuals are great looking even on DX9. Denying that is foolish.
Quite honestly, after playing the demo, I cannot stand not being able to have the freedom of movement to jump/slide/vault over ledges/etc.
i'm buying it from someone who works at EA for $10
Can you activate your retail version on steam?
No but I'm pretty sure you will be able to activate it via EA download manager. That's what I'm going to do when I get the game. Install it first with the disc then activate the key in on the EA download manager, so I have both a physical copy and digital copy. Finally I'll just add the exe to steam and bam, it's just like having it on steam.

I found out about that a couple weeks ago, I added a few games to it that I had on disc like MoH Limited Edition, Red Alert 3, and C&C4. Crysis and Crysis Warhead wouldn't work on it though sadly.
It would be nice if you could activate it through steam, but also still have the choice to either play it with steam or to play it non-steam.
there is an editor you idiot if you're on about the xbox version, that doesn't deserve an editor PC needs SOMETHING for it to be worth buying
Someone from the MyCrysis forums said there isn't one included with the game. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
You are what's wrong with the gaming community.
okay you must be dense seeing as there was fully working version of the editor with the leak
But that was a developer build, silly. Also I believe Crytek stated that the Cryengine 3 would be released alongside Crysis 2.
But that was a developer build, silly.
however the editor is still going to come with crysis 2 because it'd be a fucking stupid move by crytek not to include it, plus the version in the leak seemed fairly polished
Only going on what the guy on the forums said, Warhead didn't include the editor either you know. It was released later on the MyCrysis website.
Iono, but I'll only buy from Steam. It's convenient to have most games in one place.
Only going on what the guy on the forums said, Warhead didn't include the editor either you know. It doesn't even makes sense that the PC version wouldn't have DX10...
Was he actually from the dev team or anything of the sort? You know, related with EA or with Crytek?
No, but he got his preorder early. With all the shit that's happened from Crytek I'm inclined to believe him.
