Hmmm I'm questioning getting this later now knowing nothigns really changed from the demo, there is no editor and the game being $60 (which I always knew but its just adds to it). So I'm thinkin about just waiting till the price goes down and/or when they actually release an editor.
Is there anything else coming out next week that'll be good?
What have you done, Crytek
Just what happened to you
Its no use when their trying to please people that start WW3 because theres a "press start to continue" button instead of a "press enter".
it's not that, it's the whole premise behind the fact that one of the most renowned PC developers has basically sold out
Woah, no editor in the PC version?
That's the first I've heard this.
Source?
There was a fully working sandbox editor in the leak. Clearly, they have an editor for PC. Why would they not release it in the retail version?
Source or I call bullshit.

don't be dumb, that was a developer build
of course they have an editor for PC, that's what they used to make the game

I'm not being dumb. They released the editor for Crysis 1 at launch. Why would they NOT release it for Crysis 2 as well? If they didn't, it'd be a dick move and it's not like they can't release it due to drama with licensing bullshit since it's THEIR editor.
So I say again, source or I call bullshit. They have no reason not to include it.
Source?
I heard people talking about it in the last few pages of this thread, but I'm not certain it's the truth.
[editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
and I can hardly call a few people in the thread a reliable source of info, but it's the first big thing I've heard about the game in a while.
Oh no. Really.. no graphics settings?
Well, whatever. Maximum graphics.
I am sure they'll be added as patches.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It's actually pretty decent. I still kind of want Crysis 2 though so I'm just gonna go with both, even though the demo kind of disappointed me.
Crytek can go suck a big fat dick, im not buying their shit. Lies, lies and lies
That's too bad. It's almost sad that you're not buying this game for all of the wrong reasons. Sometimes, I lose a few IQ points just by reading your posts. Sometimes after reading your posts I feel like jumping into a large meat grinder just to relieve myself of the pain of reading your reasons not to buy Crysis 2.
You're trying to not buy a game based upon small, unrelative issues. Seriously, not purchasing a game because there "won't be any dedicated server files"? Regardless, you can still enjoy both the multiplayer and singleplayer campaign without them. Something else you are also trying to push off as an excuse not to purchase the game is that there supposedly won't be advanced graphics options. Honestly, this is a god-awful reason to not like a game. I don't think it will be too peeving for you just to choose the preset graphics options. The game will still look good regardless. I don't mind.
I'd recommend finding a reason to not like the game gameplay or story-wise, not because Crytek hurt your feelings by limiting your almost irrelevant choices in how the game looks.

that was the most drawn out, content-less post I've ever read
I really want to know why Crytek is keeping so quiet about these major issues. Are they going to surprise us on Tuesday with something so amazing that our feeble minds will implode upon playing the game or are they just keeping their heads down in the fallout bunker hoping not to get their asses kicked by an army of pissed off PC gamers?
that was the most drawn out, content-less post I've ever read
Does that mean you don't pre-read your own posts, or do they not count? Thanks for contributing an irrelevant, un-Crysis-related shitpost to thread, though.
On another note, I'm looking forward to this game. I'm going to be purchasing it for the singleplayer, not the multiplayer, but I will undoubtfully be playing the multiplayer regardless. I never played or owned the first Crysis, but I feel fairly confident that I know what is going on story-wise. The multiplayer demo for the PC was tons of fun, even if it was only two maps on two game modes, I still managed to pack in 7+ hours of gameplay. The full retail version with even more levels and gamemodes is probably going to consum me for quite a bit after purchasing it. There are a lot of great games coming out this year, though, and it will help fill the gap inbetween each release date.
I am sure they'll be added as patches.
People seem to forget that Sandbox 2 was not in Crysis Warhead/Wars straight on release, that it was patched in in v1.4/1.5.
And if the settings aren't available to the point of extreme customization, then it is probably within good reason. As in, settings being hardcoded into the engine so far, so that specific setting is the most optimized, and any deviation from within that general area is less capable.
Crytek, what have you done?
I actually LOVE most of the people who were going to buy the game and as soon as they somehow thought the editor or the detailed graphic settings or DX11 weren't going to be in the game, they rushed to cancel the pre-orders and to rant and whine about how the game is suddenly shit, regardless of said rumors even being true or false AND, on top of that, dismissing both SP and MP.
This is in my opinion, quite honestly, the most bullshit reasons I've seen not to buy a new game.
Its as if you were buying a new car just for the GPS and electric windows instead of actually needing a car to drive around. Its downright retarded!
"Oh noes! Crytek sold out! They gave us an excellent single and multiplayer game which gave new meaning to my life but they didn't include DX11 nor the sandbox editor and I can't change the settings in detail! Crytek sucks!"...
I would actually laugh if they didn't include any of that stuff in the game. And the most likely thing to happen is for all this be forgotten in some weeks after launch.

Have you even played the Singleplayer? It's disappointing as hell.

The editor actually is something to be legitimately pissed about, and for some people yes, definitely reason enough to cancel or not buy the game. It's insurance that the game will live on long past its release date. Sure, it's a great game by itself, but you definitely get your money's worth when awesome maps and mods start pumping out, it breathes life into an otherwise linear experience.
As for being able to customize settings, it's a must in every proper PC game. The console commands will still be there to tweak them to our liking to some extent, but it sucks that people will have to do a bunch of investigating to get the customization they want. I care lots about a supposed lack of editor, but not so much about full graphics customization or supposed lack of DX11, although it does irk me slightly.
I still refuse to believe any claims without a valid source. I'm just gonna wait until it comes out and see what people say since nobody can back up their claims.

I think it's more that people are cheesed off when Crytek says that Crysis 2 isn't just a cosole port and they are designing a good PC version, etc, then they pull shit like this.
Have you even played the Singleplayer? It's disappointing as hell.
Everyone pretty much said the singleplayer was amazing, from the leak.

Still, they haven't even confirmed anything at all, and can't do so until launch.

Exactly, hence why this is just stupid. Looting and rioting before the city is even hit by the storm.

It was more than a few days.
When the leak first... leaked, I believe it was roughly 50 days.

Sadly, I'm probably one of the only people here whmo agrees with you, judging by the negative input I have gotten for reciting the same opinion.
People really are that stupid.
Crysis 2 SP was pretty decent but not worth 50€ in my opinion.
MP was pretty awesome though and with it they earned my pre-order.

Yet people just didn't give a shit about how finished the game was, and just went on playing and judging by what they saw.

Same reason for me, except I haven't tried SP yet. I bet it will have to be the MP doing the job like on your side aswell, but I still think the SP will be good, if not better, then the first.

SP is good, especially since they changed to urban environment, but it has zero replay value and the story is nothing particularly special. Good but not worth 50€.
[editline]20th March 2011[/editline]
I found MP to be absolutely awesome, I love jumping and running around like a squirrel on crack.
I played through the single player in the leak, and enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to playing it polished.
All of these features being excluded from the game... who in the world thought "You know what the PC version needs? Only four video options with no customizing." Sandbox and DX10/11 not being included as well, but it's a little more reasonable to not be able to fit them in. I really hope that the state of these things changes very, very quickly, as in it'll be patched in Day 1. Otherwise, they better have a good excuse.
Imagine the rage if the console was not included in the game. :v:

yeah, it's definitely much more linear
I can play through the first game's campaign numerous times, but I can't see myself playing through this more than a couple of times
