Well I just spent all day playing Crysis and Crysis: Warhead again. I think I'm adequately prepared for Crysis 2's release tomorrow...
This is fucking awesome. I can't activate the game until 10am while the Xbros get to play a game that shouldnt even be on consoles. Fuck you Crytek.
Oh, and I got the limited edition without pre-ordering. What a scam.
Someone tell me how the fuck people are playing the PC version, please.

No shit, limited edition is the first wave of copies.

It was leaked and god forbid Crytek spend some extra time ensuring the PC release goes over well.

That's been going well for them so far, right? And now this.
Console players who got it at midnight get to play
PC players get the shaft yet again.
The only thing that'd make this preorder better is if it came with a Tf2 hat.
Why do the games I want to preorder and do never have Tf2 hats included?
I know why.. but whatever.

Boo fucking hoo you have to wait a few hours to play
Go to bed and play it in the morning when you wake up

I'm home from work and don't have to be in bed for several hours, which is besides the point.
The point is that people don't mind DRM fucking PC users up the ass. There is absolutely ZERO reason we should have to wait to play for something we legally purchased from a retail outlet while console kiddies get to play now.

Yeah they really fucked us PC players by making us wait what, 2 days? 3?
When I wake up, I'll be in math class, that's no good.
The TV commercials I keep seeing for this game make it look incredibly sexy :v:
I was going to get this, but after playing the multiplayer demo I decided to wait until it was on sale so I could play the campaign. Multiplayer had an extremely boring CoD-with-Nanosuit feel to it.

What does this have to do with DRM exactly?
While I wish I was playing Crysis 2 right now instead of getting ready to go to sleep so I can play it in the morning, I don't see why you're so outraged over the fact that they released for consoles early.

Reminds me of Homefront but without sub-par graphics and no nanosuit :3:

I expected this post to be agreeing with me, after the long rants you went on in the Homefront thread about how the shooting looked like CoD and how much you desire innovation in games.
Then I found out you wanted to play Crysis 2.
Heh.
Well I hope you have fun paying $60 for Call of Duty. I will wait for a drop in price, as I already own Black Ops :3:.
Downloading Overgrowth while I try to convince myself to go to sleep early so I can play tomorrow, I feel like having both games installed will be a conflict of interest for me :(
Alcatraz does not speak the entire game. It's odd too considering what goes on.
Then again so was Gordon Freeman not talking all of the HL series. Or any of the main protags for that matter.
Well poo. I like having a voice.
Even if I don't get to choose what I say.

I played it and it felt nothing like cod to me. I loved how it played and I don't get what in it is like CoD.
Everything except the nanosuit abilities. The stealth and superjump are pretty cool, armor is lame. I dunno, it just felt really boring. It may have been because of the lack of interesting weapons, but then again, the full release doesn't seem to have very many either. Also, way too easy. Learn when to use armor and use the SCAR. Easy top of the scoreboard, atleast in the demo. I have a feeling the endgame is going to revolve around people just walking around like CoD and using armor in gunfights and hoping their random SCAR spray gets a headshot. Not really interesting enough to me.
Singleplayer looks like a blast but I refuse to pay $60 for a singleplayer only experience unless it is godlike.

I played a lot of matches where stealth was the main part of the game for me, and what seemed like many more players, yeah, learning when to hit the armor button is nice, but that isn't the end of the gameplay, and to say it is, is kind of stupid I think.
Not to mention, the whole leveling up systems, you really have no idea how it's going to play.
Hence the "I have a feeling" part. No one can know for sure, but it worked incredibly well in the multiplayer demo for me. I did stealth around (PS3 demo time was spent stealthing and pistol only) and it was fun no doubt, but it feels like armor is so much more of an advantage. Chances are that if we didn't see much depth in the demo, it's hard to believe that the full release will be a cornucopia of strategy. Honestly you have to be a bit delusional to not see the Call of Duty inspirations here.
I activated my copy, and yet I still can't log into my original myCrysis account. :argh:
The EA store switched the release date to March 23rd for NA. Damn.
Looks like 24march here in sweden thought it was 25march.

Steam release is still in six hours.
I hope that doesn't change...
If I used an American proxy or something, could I buy Crysis 2 now and play it?
I see more particles during intro, SuperSoldier difficulty had its name changed, HUD looks smaller, and graphics option is High, Very High, and Extreme, rather than Gamer, Advanced, and Hardcore.
Extreme

Very High

Extreme had less eyeraping bloom.

If you used US proxy you could buy the game, play it, get your account banned.

Not much difference. Texture size, polycount and shadow resolution are the same.
The only difference is that lightning is a bit different (GI?) and there's proper depth buffer for lightning effects.
To be honest Crysis 2 still looks amazing even on "Gamer".
I know I'll get my copy early, as GAME took payment yesterday.
I hope I don't run into that release date check, especially after acquiring the game through legal means.
I went to capture the scene after Visor tutorial in all 3 modes.
Obvious differences are LOD, shadows, and tree leaves.

only difference I see are some of the shadows and those 'sandbags' or whatever they are in the lower left corner
