Protip: Don't alttab while playing singleplayer, you'll lose your weapons on occasion, or be unable to melee, etc.
Still can't customize the graphics really, anyone playing in 3D?
That'd be cool, but don't you need those glasses?
And I wouldn't buy 3D hardware right now because I know it's going to get outdated soon anyway.

Aw.
Wait, why would you talk tab out of a game?.. I hardly do that.
Dammit, 8 hours of school and Crysis 2 is only half done downloading.. darn LA servers must be clogged up, with AC: Brotherhood downloads too.

Day 1 patch already. No Dx11 still, no editor. Already beaten by it's predecessor.
Crysis 2 didn't come out with an editor? If so, I'm already dissapoint.
Hmmmm.. installed, patched and went to try a MP match quick. "Serial code is in use" -- Nice one dillwads.
Play the damn singleplayer and multiplayer, maybe that'll hold some time until the editor/dx11 is released that you would have instead spent going "OMFG I DISAPPOINT WOW!!! SUCKZS"
I just put them into the command line, and it seems to work.
Make a shortcut of Crysis2.exe, and at the end of the "Target" box in the properties of the shortcut just add in the commands there, prefixing with a "+" sign. So for example "+g_skipintro=1" skips the intro videos
I think I figured it out. Only certain autoexec commands will work (like, say, con_restricted = 0/1), but others (which, unfortunately for some (:smug:) includes g_godmode = 0/1) won't. They'll just revert back to their default setting (I checked using the game.txt in the game's directory).

I went to school at about 7:30, so I didn't have a chance to start it.
Luckily Comrade isn't as much as a SLOW FUCKING CUNT as I thought.

The shorter the bar, the better, right?
Denver here I come.
...it's even slower. Isn't distance from the server a greater obstacle than the bandwidth of the server?
I'm wondering whether or not I should buy this game. I enjoyed the multiplayer demo thoroughly and I really liked Crysis 1, but right now $60 is a LOT for me and I plan on buying Portal 2 next month regardless of my purchase decision on this game. Thing is, $100 out for two games is going to be major set-back on buying supplies I'll need for college not too long from now, in addition for other things I've been saving up for.
Is the single player campaign and the online experience beyond what's available up to Rank 10 worth $60, or would it be wiser to wait for a price drop or something since this is something more or less to hold off on until more things are available (I've heard that many PC gamers were upset with the final result of Crysis 2 due to being gypped of several features, but this is only by word of mouth so I'm not sure what's to be believed or not).

If I only had to choose one, I would go with Crysis 2 no doubt.
Portal 2.. doesn't cut it as well as Crysis 2 for me.
Though I am hearing all these bad things about Crysis 2.. I still have hope. I don't care about the editor or anything but the watered-down settings I agree do suck for those who can't max out everything.

Same... and most of the servers say they are full when it clearly shows they are only half full in browser

Use Siberia
Seriously, I always get max speeds from that server

It's not rageworthy, but it is disappointing that they didn't include the features that their other titles have traditionally launched with
as long as they get to it soon though I don't mind much
So how hard is the hardest difficulty in this compared to Crysis?
[editline]22nd March 2011[/editline]
Cause I don't want to do it if it is retard die in two hits mode.

Crysis on delta is easy as shit just cloak cloak cloak.
This game is amazing.
Crysis on delta is easy as shit just cloak cloak cloak.
crysis was easy on delta even without cloak
Crysis 2's hardest difficulty is easier than Crysis hardest difficulty, mainly because you can get shot several times more on armor mode before "BLOODY SCREEN! SO REAL"
also i'm getting atrocious speeds on steam no matter what server i pick ffs

Probably because there are tons of people downloading at the moment. I'm getting around 500kb/s on the Siberia server. This is going to take ages.
holy shit why do i have 182 posts
Crysis 2 is pretty good so far. My favourite character is Mr. Wiggles.

I found him in the sewers and he was lonely so I decided to take him with me.

all posts before 2009 were archived
i'm only getting 1mb/s and it shifts down to 500kb/s really often, annoying

only 1 MB/s
What does this have to do with DRM exactly?
While I wish I was playing Crysis 2 right now instead of getting ready to go to sleep so I can play it in the morning, I don't see why you're so outraged over the fact that they released for consoles early.
Reminds me of Homefront but without sub-par graphics and no nanosuit :3:
The thing that tells you the game isn't released is a form of DRM, yet people who pirated it (it's cracked and uploaded online already) can play it with no hassle. It's ok though, because if you really want to play it you can just use a VPN with Steam and it'll think you're in the USA.
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
If you used US proxy you could buy the game, play it, get your account banned.

Not much difference. Texture size, polycount and shadow resolution are the same.
The only difference is that lightning is a bit different (GI?) and there's proper depth buffer for lightning effects.
To be honest Crysis 2 still looks amazing even on "Gamer".
GI is enabled on all settings, seen as it costs literally nothing to render. I don't know what you mean by depth buffer for the lighting, but I don't think that's what the difference is. Particles can receive indirect (GI) lighting on the higher settings too, as far as I know.

Not really.
http://www.gamerconfig.eu/commands/crysis-2/
Found this on crymod, not exactly sure what this is, but I guess it's the list of available commands.
Some interesting ones:
[release]r_UsePOM (parallax occlusion mapping)
r_ShadersDX11
r_NightVision (correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that there is no "normal" NV in the game)
e_SplitScreenTest (wat)[/release]
oh and I'm sure that Crytek will release the sandbox after EA gives permission for it (= after the last DLC)
You forget that EA have no say over anything Crytek do, Crytek have already said they will release the editor at a later date along with a stand-alone version of the engine for indie developers. I don't see people bitching about Valve doing the same thing for Portal 2...
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
No offense, but you're acting pretty much like a dumbass.
They are already releasing a full stand alone SDK for CE3 in the summer, and are known to always release modding tools with their games. Infinity Ward/Acitivision however, have never EVER released modding tools for their games. And Crysis War's editor didn't come out with it on release day either. Do you honestly believe they will never release an editor with Crysis 2?
And funny you mention DX10 making it less technologically advanced. Guess what - DX10 in Crysis 1 did absolutely nothing. Only thing it did was make your framerate worse, show a little "DX10" on the devmode info, and made it so per-object motion blur was less buggy looking. Every single DX10 visual option in Crysis 1 was able to be forced to run in DX9, at a better FPS too. DX10 in Crysis 1 was nothing more than a marketing gimmick, which is why they removed it's limitations from Warhead. Sure you could still force warhead to run DX10 but like in Crysis 1, it didn't really do anything.
All the Call of Duty games had editors up to COD MW2.
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
I'm truly sorry that you appear to be completely fucking blind, but I can assure you DX9/10 makes a difference.
[img_thumb]http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5633/dxcomparison.png[/img_thumb]
Notice the difference in the lighting effects, and the water. If that is not enough for your deteriorating corneas to detect, allow me to show a clear example of the sort of difference DX9/10 made in Crysis.
[img_thumb]http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b257/Cureless_Poison/DXComparison2.gif?t=1300823960[/img_thumb]
If you had read his post you'd of known that you can force anything DX10-specific in DX9 mode on Crysis.
Wow, Crysis 2's campaign is amazing. And it seems to be pretty long (about two hours in and nowhere near the end, unlike in Crysis 1 where I could beat the campaign around 3-4 hours).

My ass you could beat it in 3-4 hours. I couldn't even manage that in my cheating playthrough. Maybe 4-6 hours sure.
