Um, I haven't been catching up with this thread or the Crysis 2 community, but, the multiplayer for this game looks exactly, and I mean exactly, like Call of Duty Black Ops. I mean, the fucking perks, attachments, holy shit it's practically a fucking sequel.
Or not.
Just beat the game. I loved it. One of the best games I've ever played, to be honest. Now to wait and see if Crytek will fix the console commands so I can godmod myself and find all those collectibles without fear of getting raped to death.
And for all you guys bitching: You've made your point. You think the game sucks. We get it. We also get (and some of us will even admit) that in some ways it's not as good as the first one. Now that you've stated your opinions (over and over and over again), can you PLEASE let the rest of us talk about how much we enjoyed the game?
Tried the beginning of the campaign at my friends house earlier on, didn't really seem like my type of game. Felt to me as thought a lot of the tactical options were really out of your way and not exactly worth it. May give it another try at some point, I suppose that it was just another game that got a little bit over-hyped.
does anyone have a weird issue where keys will be locked out randomly? like for instance when i'm playing suddenly i won't be able to melee/sprint/ADS/reload at random times, it's not my keyboard because i tried to rebind the keys to my mouse/other keyboard keys
Does any one find that the menu music starts to overlap other songs and eventually gets louder and louder?
I am finding this on the console.

That happened to me a ton in the demo, which got really annoying when I was sitting in lobbies.
Shouldn't the game be released now? :byodood:

Doesn't say any time left on steam store, but i can't play.

Nevermind :buddy:
one thing that really annoys me about this is the delay between letting go of the aim button and the character actually letting the gun back down
'cept the game has lean (not prone). It's a dynamic lean that activacted when aim down ironsights near the edges of objects. Works on the verticle axis too.
Yeah, it's essentially a first person cover system. I don't mind it. Takes a bit of skill to use it efficiently, but how often did you use lean in an actually convenient way in the first place?
Most of the bitching is coming from people who wanted to see a much better release, particularly PC gamers. No one is saying you can't have fun with it or that it is entirely not entertaining, just voicing their disappointment, and making damn good points by doing so.
And my comments on their points mean nothing, because I don't agree with you and therefore my discussion isn't valuable? Look at the counter points raised, yeah, the game isn't pefect and it's not what we wanted in some cases, but I'll just leave it at this, the gameplay itself, is very tight and fun so far. It's not Sci-Fi CoD, that's not a fucking fact. That's an opinion.
Is it true that this doesn't ship with a sandbox editor despite there being one in the beta?
one thing that really annoys me about this is the delay between letting go of the aim button and the character actually letting the gun back down
Yeah, it's really annoying.

I've had that too, but it fixed itself after 5 seconds of key spamming/re clicking the screen.
So I just had a revelation in accordance to the story.
[sp]So all of us know that Prophet died. But if you actually beat the game, you find out that he isn't dead, it's just that he was 'imprinted' into the suit in a way. Even then, he isn't actually imprinted. The way I see it, due to the suit being heavily based off of the alien technology that was discovered a century earlier, and the fact that Prophet was infected by the alien strain, Prophet somehow managed to become the suit itself. This theory can be proven by the presence of "Prophet's memories" in the suit, and how it can talk to you when you're changing levels (Not the "go here do this" stuff, but the "this ain't no time for dying, soldier" parts). The only thing of Prophet that died was the husk of his body itself, not his conciousness. Now based off of this, I assume that with the knowledge Prophet gained on the positions of the other underground ceph hives during his return trip to the island, that the next Crysis title is going to involve building some sort of establishment that goes around the world disabling dormant hives and preventing activating hives from killing everything. I even forecast that you will discover the whereabouts of the other Nanosuit soldiers like Nomad, Psycho, and the squads that Psycho teamed up with on the Lingshan islands, and team up with them to go into activated cold-spheres and destroy the central colonies.[/sp]
Decrypting seems to be stuck on 15% :saddowns:
Nevermind again. It started moving again :v:

[sp]It was heavily implied in at least one of Prophet's memories that Nomad and Psycho (and possibly Dr. Rosenthal) died during the return trip to the Island. But other than that I agree with you. However, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, I still have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Hargreave. One of the main plot points in Crysis 2 was the origins of the Nanosuit (and Hargreave's goals concerning them), but now that Hargreave is dead that plot point's pretty much dead, which is disappointing to say the least...[/sp]
The only reason the people think the game sucks is because Crytek made the game less of a sandbox and more of a shooter, plus the lack of editor and DX11.

Wearing Psycho's nanosuit will be awesome.
Maximum Muppet.
Only thing stopping me from playing is all the lens flares ingame are flickering like crazy
Wearing Psycho's nanosuit will be awesome.

Despite having played Warhead enough times to get the reference, I'm still getting visions of nanosuits morphing into the actual characters from The Muppets. Kermit-shaped-nanosuit singing "it's not easy being green" and all...

Wait a second, mind explaining that first bit to me? I don't remember seeing anything like that.
So... anything objectively wrong with Crysis 2? I mean, all that's been brought up so far are subjective things, so it's kinda hard to get an idea if there really is anything wrong with it.

the games a big bust, worse then CoD and you want to know why, cause you can't shoot down trees.... DERP

[sp]One of Prophet's memories had him having a direct confrontation with Hargreave in his office, accusing him of fully knowing what was going to happen at Lingshan, and knowing what was going to happen with the nanosuits once they got in contact with Ceph biology. Seeing as Jester and Aztec were mutilated by the big flying guys too quickly to not have been affected by anything biological, it's only logical to assume that Prophet was mentioning something that happened to Nomad and Psycho. Unless Crytek ends up retconning Jester and Aztec's deaths somehow.[/sp]
From what I've been hearing on this thread there's going to be a prequel comic coming soon that'll connect Crysis and Crysis 2 more thoroughly than any reference in Cry2 did, so hopefully it'll tell us what exactly happened to everyone between Crysis and Crysis 2.

[sp]I must have missed something in Crysis 1 or just have a bad memory of that single player, Aztec and Jester were both grabbed up by the Ceph, but how were they affected?[/sp]

The graphics really aren't as realistic as Crysis was (it looks more like a game than reality, which is the opposite of what Crysis looked like), and some of the voice acting is sub-par. Other than that, there really isn't anything objectively wrong with Crysis 2 that I can think of...

It's the art style more so than the graphics I think

[sp]They got mutilated and torn apart by those big flying squiddies. Nothing biological like Prophet was implying, which is why I think the biological stuff happened to Nomad and Psycho.[/sp]
