Mine unlocked last night already and the same thing happened.
My only real complaint in this is the lack of destruction.
I just removed EDGE AA with Wasdies options tool and put 4x msaa there instead.

It also fixed most of the flicker issues i had with my sli setup.

Steam locks your games based on Geolocation, not content servers. This is why you're able to play if you use a VPN, because it literally changes your IP address to the VPN's.
