The .pak files are encyrpted. Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? I give up. I tried to like this game but I simply cannot. There is nothing good about this game. It's ALL bad. Crytek needs to go out of business. A fitting end to what was once a good developer.
I give up. I tried to like your posts but I simply cannot. Crysis 2 is a great game. People such as yourself really pick at the most useless of things to say "ohohoho this company made the .pak files encrypted? They should go out of business!" and other stupid things you think will kill the game for you. Have fun not playing a lot of games this year if you continue to act like this.
That is exactly what I think. If you had told me Crysis 2 was going to be THIS after I first played through Crysis 1, I would have laughed you to death.
well the implications I got from your posts was that this game has no good aspects whatsoever, which I disagree with
1. DX11 is on its way soon. 2. Crysis 1 wasn't that must open then 2. 3. I changed my key mapping and it worked just fine. 4. Sandbox is also on its way soon. 5. What game doesn't have MP problems at launch? They problems aren't that bad anyway. I'm playing MP just fine and not running into many "Aimbotters" as you say the game is full of.
the problem with these is that those are features that people were expecting to come with the game's release, and there are really no valid reason/excuses as far as I can see as to why Crytek are releasing them after initial launch
well the implications I got from your posts was that this game has no good aspects whatsoever, which I disagree with
Your implications were correct. Hell, only Crysis 2's brilliant AI could even come close to matching your vast gaming intellect. How else could you so quickly understand and refute the implications of encrypted pak files? Bravo sir. Bravo.

It's no surprise someone as ignorant as yourself would pick out only the most stupid of things to dislike. Games are designed for entertainment-- I was entertained, but it's too bad you weren't (Well, I couldn't vouch for if you actually played the game. None of your reasons sound reasonable at all.)
I don't think many people can reply to your posts; most people have blocked you.
You mean I won't get anymore dumb replies? Oh happy days! I have changed my mind! This game has one redeeming quality!
You're very clever. I like you about as much as I like this game. You might just be as smart as this game's brilliant AI!
The AI has its quirks. But to be fair it is hard to program AI that has react to attacks from any angle in a reasonable way. AI in other fps might seem better, as most shooters now a days are a lot more like shooting galleries were they are programmed to run to the nearest cover and stand up every few seconds. The Crysis 2 AI will try to flank you, flush you out with grenades, shoot at where they think you are etc. It'll still do stupid shit like run past you or get stuck but it's miles better then anything else out now.

Man, you guys must have some fuckin fine taste in games to be whining so much. What happened to just, playing the game and having fun?

The problem I have with it is that it's seemingly worse than the AI I saw in the first Crysis. I managed to make it half way through Crysis 2 without using bullets. I just ran around punching people while their buddies walked or ran away, without so much as firing back. It's pitifully easy. I have done similar things in Crysis 1, but it was a lot harder to do, and they would at least act right (Firing back in random directions when I cloaked, and becoming frightened when I uncloaked near them.) And, on the note of the pak files, if anyone else has a mental deficiency: Encrypted pak files mean no mods what so ever. No skins. No shader replacements. No custom models. Nothing. We're all stuck waiting until Summer to do modding of any kind. And by then, the pak files might still impose a problem toward modding the original game vs making a new indie title that runs on CryEngine 3.
if you dont like the game, leave. you're playing the leak and bitching about the game anyway
I'm not playing the leak, and this thread is for discussing the game, not sucking it's dick.
Man, you guys must have some fuckin fine taste in games to be whining so much. What happened to just, playing the game and having fun?
It's called taste. Not everyone likes the things you like. It's definitely not a new concept.
I won like five instant actions in a row. Each match I got to the 25 kill mark and averaged at 5 deaths. Did Crytek up the damage on the weapons by default or is that something that can be modified in the custom unranked game settings? It was taking 3 to 4 rounds to kill someone on semi-automatic with the SCAR which I found kind of odd because it took more in the demo.

For anyone thickheaded: Just because the game isn't moddable doesn't mean it's bad. Continue life without it, it's not an essential component of the game. Crysis 2 is fun and entertaining, as a game should be. Another complaint is that "the graphics don't look better than the first Crysis'". I've never played the first Crysis, but I honestly doubt it matters. Regardless of what the first game's graphics look like, Crysis 2's graphics are still very good looking and very pretty. I'm not playing the leak, and this thread is for discussing the game, not sucking it's dick. It's called taste. Also, I never played the first Crysis-- I had no expectations for what Crysis 2 would be, but what I did get was satisfactory. I enjoyed it and it served its purpose. I liked it.
ive got pretty high standards and hate almost everything but crysis 2 is really good
What do you like about it in particular? I'm honestly interested.
when i don't like a game, i usually post about it once in a thread, and then a second time if i'm asked to elaborate it's time to leave
Yeah, that might be a good idea. I'm really trying to like this game, but every time I pick it up, I just keep finding more and more I dislike. That's why I'm interested in your opinions of it. What makes Crysis 2 a good game?
it's a discussion, and I can very well understand why he doesn't like the game but you're not really making any points here
You're a good poster. Can I nominate you for a quality member title or something?
1/4 life all you whined about is the lack of modding tools which is going to be fixed by the summer this does not make a game bad it's like saying left 4 dead was a bad game because it took almost a year for the authoring tools to come out
What do you like about it in particular? I'm honestly interested. You're a good poster.
the gameplay feels solid. it's different from crysis 1, but it's retained a similarity. it feels nice. the graphics are great. and with a little bit of tweaking, it runs great too. i'm not sure who to blame but i'll give crytek the benefit of the doubt there. the game's campaign seems interesting. i played homefront the other day and the story was so disinteresting and i didn't give a fuck about any of the characters. wharas in crysis 2 there is a genuine intrigue and i want to see what happens next. bare in mind i'm only like, two levels into the SP, i have a lot of work and uni
By the looks of things, I can't even create a private listener server with my friends. I don't want to purchase one when my system is completely capable. Ugh....
Well, you guys can keep whining. I'll be enjoying Crysis 2 and every other game I have installed or downloaded or played. :colbert:

I agree with everything you've said. I'll definitely want to know how you feel about the story once you've completed the game though. Have you played through the first one? Anyway, I'll make this my last post. Gonna go try that bioshock fix.
1/4 life all you whined about is the lack of modding tools which is going to be fixed by the summer this does not make a game bad
I've whined about: The story. The AI. The lack of modding tools. The fact that the pak files are encrypted, which modding tools may or may not fix. They don't need to fix that to release modding tools, which means the actual Crysis 2 game will remain unmoddable while others make new indie games with the mod tools. And a bunch of petty shit that honestly only someone like me would care about.
Oh, did I mention you can't even change the key mapping? :v:
Uh, you can. I've rebinded a few keys.
I played this for a hour, and now my room smells like burnt electrical wiring. but it runs.. so.. great.
1/4 Life agreed with me? How the.. How does that work...
1/4 Life, to be fair, I will agree with you on the fact that it is pretty damn different from Crysis 1. It's a common complaint I see (and sometimes make) on many sequels. They just feel too different, and in some cases it's a wonder it's called a sequel instead of a new game (honestly, Crysis 2 leans towards that end of the spectrum for me). But on the other hand, I still manage to enjoy it because, being a storyfag, I enjoy the expanded story in Crysis 2 (because let's face it, Crysis 1 wasn't exactly number one in the story department). A complaint about the story I have, however, is the sudden mystery surrounding the Nanosuit. In Crysis 1, there was no real need to explain the Nanosuit, it was just the latest technological marvel that just so happened to help you get through the events of the game. All of a sudden Crysis 2 comes along and ejaculates so much backstory and plot points onto the Nanosuit I begin to wonder whether the game's supposed to be about Aliens invading New York or if it's really about the Nanosuit and the Aliens were just a side-story Crytek were forced to add in because they forgot to wrap up what happened to them in Lingshan. Other than those complaints, I really enjoyed Crysis 2.
i just recorded this, no spoilers
I think Crysis 2 was supposed to be a "reboot" of the series, to send it in a new direction, which would explain why it's so different from Crysis 1. *shrug*
I love the game, even if I'm not very good at it. It's gorgeous and sounds great. The only problem I'm having is that with high settings it's fucking hard to see people who are cloaked.

Part of the reason I found the multiplayer so ball-numbingly boring.
I don't see how it's that much different from Crysis 1. The levels are a lot more like Crysis Warhead with linear paths connecting the bigger areas, smaller then Warhead but the same basic concepts still apply.
i just recorded this, no spoilers
nice gameplay. Wish I could just buy the singleplayer for like, $30.
nice gameplay. Wish I could just buy the singleplayer for like, $30.
I would love if publishers started doing this. Sell the multiplayer and the singleplayer separately for $25 each, that way people could just get the part they are interested in.
