The Crysis one story is used in some parts, but you don't need it.
You won't know who prophet is though, or any of the guys shown during flashbacks, unless you play Crysis. So you'll basically be getting 95% of the story.

Yeah I've heard that the story is good I was just hoping that they would involve the first crysis a bit more so you feel accomplished when you understand the story completely because you played crysis 1

You realize that the aliens invading are the ones from Crysis and the Nano-Suit is heavily linked.
Its hard to explain my POV (considering I stayed up the whole night and it is now 6AM) but. I feel you need to play Crysis first to get the full experience.

The only thing I don't like is that it's too shiny it reminds me of stronghold. This is my demo impression though so it might have changed

I have my FoV set at 75 but the gun FoV at the default 55. Looks weird with it at 75.
