Someone gift me the game! :buddy: Heh, just kidding.
Very disappointing for me, the story I found to be bullshit, stereotypical characters, a twist half way through so predictable it was actually funny, so much of the game doesn't make sense, [sp]immortality ?[/sp] I know many of you guys disagree, but take it from a rational standpoint, the story lacked (although the gameplay was solid, since it was basically COD with extras, and the graphics were as expected top notch even if sometimes determining enemies from a wall was almost impossible)
The utterly useless visor mode.
You mean the visor mode that highlights enemies, paths, ammo, weapons, and tactical options? It was very helpful to me.
Hitting an enemy while they are doing an environmental animation (like climbing under a pipe) does not deal damage.
I didn't seem to have that problem. I think you mean if they are doing an action meant to be cinematic.
The "funny quotes" that pop up if you do certain things ("Warning: 1.21 Gigawatts", "You got a speeding ticket").
The speeding ticket line isn't supposed to be funny. I'm pretty sure of that.
Pistol-sized silencers on a shotgun. And the make the shotgun sound like a pistol.
Why even bother with a silenced shotgun? It instantly drains your suit energy if you're in cloak mode and in both games (I think there were silenced shotguns in Crysis 1) it had terrible range.
Buying upgrades.
Get used to it. It would suck out all the fun if you could easily just max out your suit's abilities. They make me more interested in playing the game AND MAKING MY MONEY MORE WORTH IT.
No prone mode.
Don't worry there are large things to hide behind everywhere. You can just get behind those, cloak, and ambush your enemies from behind. Or jump from over the cover, go into power mode, and shoot the living crap out of them. Also, congratulations on posting in a thread about a game you hate and claim you won't play ever again. Actually try to enjoy it rather than look anywhere and everywhere for it's flaws.
Oh well, I guess this game isn't for you.
For clarification, your terrible computer sploding isn't Crytek's fault.
I know. my GPU/CPU were using so much power that my PSU blew its self out at the same time frying the mother board. I was pushing the limit with the wattage, but crysis just said fuck that limit and took it down to pound town.
I have a feeling this is going to become one of those quote-battles.
You mean the visor mode that highlights enemies, paths, ammo, weapons, and tactical options?
Oh goodness. I've played two hours in the C2 campaign so far, I don't know if I can continue. It is a horrible disappointment. It's like they took out all the good stuff from the first game and replaced it with the most irritating things from CoD:MW2. The entire campaign so far has been a rail shooter. Short runs through narrow corridors broken up by two-minute cutscenes. A list of the things which I find irritating:

you jump when you LET GO of the spacebar, not when you press it.
The utterly useless visor mode.
Hitting an enemy while they are doing an environmental animation (like climbing under a pipe) does not deal damage.
The "funny quotes" that pop up if you do certain things ("Warning: 1.21 Gigawatts", "You got a speeding ticket").
Pistol-sized silencers on a shotgun. And the make the shotgun sound like a pistol.
Buying upgrades.
Having to toggle crouching.
Collectibles. Nobody likes collectibles. I'm okay with easter eggs, but not ones that show up as a stat.
No prone mode.
[sp]Zombies.[/sp]
The enemy can see you through walls.
[sp]Aliens that look like Predators.[/sp]
The HORRIBLE screenplay and the seemingly uninterested voice actors.
I'll probably find more as I go. IF I go. Feel free to argue that I'm wrong.
The visor does add confusion.. I don't understand it at all. Rate me dumb and explain to me what the numbers mean and how it changes if you tag an object, please. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline]
The leaning is actually a bit better. I never used it in the original, but here, it's a lot smoother. You run up to a corner and press Mouse2, and you lean out from behind cover. Pretty nice. Q and E are used for Armour and Cloak now :/ And yes, removing prone is unforgivable.
I wish the lean control was in multiplayer..
I really wish the visor wasn't on the nanosuit menu thing. I've never, ever hit it on purpose. In SP I just went to it by pressing B, in multiplayer I hit it by accident all the time.
The visor does add confusion.. I don't understand it at all. Rate me dumb and explain to me what the numbers mean and how it changes if you tag an object, please.
At first I thought tagging an object would let you keep track of it through walls and such, but it does nothing.
At first I thought tagging an object would let you keep track of it through walls and such, but it does nothing.
Exactly.
It takes the fun out of exploring and removes the sandbox aspect
Then don't fucking use it if you think it takes away the sandbox aspect.
If by "cinematic", you mean climbing a ledge, then yes.
It takes almost less than a second for them to go over the ledge, are you talking about multiplayer or singleplayer?
It has no context whatsoever.
Then it isn't a problem. It doesn't interrupt you, it happens between fights, and it goes away in a second. Just ignore it if it doesn't cause a single goddamn problem. Good lord you're a crybaby.
There wasn't one in C1, and I never use it anyway. The fact that it exists simply bothers me.
Then don't complain because it's not even a problem.
Why have upgrades at all?
Help you find cloaked enemies, speed up suit recharge, less drain while sprinting and jumping, know when enemies are near by or around the corner, make your footsteps quieter, etc. There are a lot of reasons those upgrades are there. Don't want to use them? Then don't use them. It never forces you to.
True, but it's a really stupid way of doing things.
My pinky prefers not having to hold it.
They bring out this urge to find everything and a sense of shame if you don't.
Ignore the collectibles. Wow there are so many "problems" you can ignore so far.
Part of the fun in C1 was creeping up to a ledge and sniping people from inside a bush. Taking away prone ruins that.
Mouse 2 Lean Right/Left Mouse Lean.
[sp]Then what do you call the infected people sitting around everywhere?[/sp]
[sp]They aren't zombies. Those are infected people who were abandoned because they were a lost cause. They're just people slowly dying.[/sp]
I hid in a sewer. They saw me through the pavement.
They can still hear your footsteps, you know.
[sp]You can't deny it.[/sp]
[sp]Stop trying to nitpick. The aliens look awesome in this game. They have triangular masks with red lights all over them and their face is practically jelly with a few glowing dots. The Predators had rather humanoid faces with dreadlocks and weird mouths[/sp]
I have seen worse, yes. *cough*Just Cause 2*cough*
So true.
They're forcing themselves onto me, I can't help it. I AM going to finish it, though, I'd be pretty pissed if I didn't get my money's worth.
Then keep going and finish it. The game is pretty fun.
If you hover over someone with the visor, they'll get a halo around them, that makes it really easy to spot them. They'll also show up on the minimap, although just looking at them normally will do that. And I'm pretty sure tagging does let you see them through walls, it's just pretty faint.
Short runs through narrow corridors broken up by two-minute cutscenes.
Hahaha, you're not playing Crysis 2.
you jump when you LET GO of the spacebar
...because you hold down the spacebar to do a power jump!
useless visor takes the fun out of exploring
I call contradiction! Besides, the visor only shows you what's right there in front of you! Saying "it shows ammo and enemies" would be a fair complaint if it didn't only show the ones right in your face.
"funny quotes"
"THE GAME ISN'T SERIOUS ENOUGH"
silencers on a shotgun. There wasn't one in C1
There was!
Buying upgrades. Why have upgrades at all?
"I HATE VARIETY"
Having to toggle crouching. No prone mode.
Considering how crouching in Crysis 2 is implemented, I'd say it's more like a combination of the best parts of crouch and prone - the ability to hide really well, combined with being in a relatively comfortable position!
Collectibles. Nobody likes collectibles. They bring out this urge to find everything and a sense of shame if you don't.
So... you have OCD?
[sp]What do you call the infected?[/sp]
[sp]The infected.[/sp] [sp]We don't use the "Z" word.[/sp]
The enemy can see you through walls. [sp]Aliens that look like Predators.[/sp]
Crytek are obviously staying true to the source material.
The HORRIBLE screenplay and the seemingly uninterested voice actors.
Hey, man! Gould seemed pretty into it, man! Dude! Brah!
Singleplayer so far has been a blast. Being able to do attack an area from multiple directions and with multiple options is great. Twice so far I have been astonished when I was able to actually explore the area, where in most games invisible walls or insta-death zones would have stopped me. Played a game of multiplayer but am not investing time into it considering how buggy it is, was alright.

Can't believe how well this game runs. My computer is over 2 years old at still runs the game at max settings with quite good fps.
How wonderful, I even managed to redeem the LE bundle to my account and now I can't even play multiplayer. The fuck do I do now? [editline]k[/editline]
QUESTION I just installed Crysis 2, but when I try to log into multiplayer, I'm getting an error message that reads "This key is already in use". Why am I seeing this? What can I do to fix it? ANSWER We have received reports of some Crysis 2 players on PC experiencing this issue with their game's multiplayer key. A patch to fix this issue is in the works, but until that patch is ready, there is an easy work around solution. Go to multiplayer and type in your key. Navigate back to single player. Go back into multiplayer and re-enter your key. After completing these three steps, your multiplayer key will be saved, and you will not be required to re-enter it.
Oh thank god that scared me.
Oh goodness. Short runs through narrow corridors broken up by two-minute cutscenes.
Are you fucking kidding me!? I don't even know how to response to that...
I've heard a few people talk about a program that essentially acts as an advanced settings editor, but couldn't find anything on it with Google. Could anyone provide me with a link? Sure, I could edit the .ini myself but I'm too lazy for that :v:
I found another Easter egg. [sp]When you go to the prism island to go kill that cell commander and get Hargreave, if you manage to stealth through without killing anyone or being detected, when you go to disable the power for the anti-nanosuit emp, there are some guys talking german that do a sound test with that rave song that was in the other easter egg.[/sp] Also [sp]Rasch isn't french, he is German.[/sp] And the choreography with the characters was surprisingly well done. You can not tell me Gould wasn't incredibly animated when you [sp]sit down in the nanosuit cradle for the first time.[/sp] He does a subtle handwave and that activates the Nanosuit diagnostics. How cool is that? Then while it's loading again, he's sliding around on his chair and tapping rad beats on his table.

Thanks!
So who else thinks Inon Zur's score shits on Hans Zimmer's?
I'm glad prone is gone, it's been removed from a lot of games to prevent exploits in instantly proning. If they made it slow, people would complain as it would be far less useful. Also, I think Hargreave's VA was awesome. The rest were good, but the marines seemed kind of forced is all.
Played some multiplayer. Really boring. Lost 3 games of Crash Site because the enemy team had one "good" player (good in Crysis 2 is subjective). Just like I predicted after playing both the PS3 and 360 demos, the entire game right now is run around in stealth, switch to armor in fights, and spray your SCAR like nothing else. Makes for very boring play. Also laggy as shit, I got several kills that didn't register for a full 3 seconds, and some bogus killcams where I was shooting someone on my screen but in the killcam I was firing to his left. Meh, went in with low expectations so I am not too disappointed. Luckily the singleplayer delivers.

It doesn't work with FF and Opera. Refreshing didn't work either.
Doesn't work with Chrome for me.
