I just don't understand this. Crytek is a studio that up until this point was an exclusively PC developer. Did they all have lobotomies in the last 3 years and forgot how to develop Pc games?
What did you expect? Even if there was no piracy from Crysis 1 they can make more money on consoles. The only two companies I think really give a shit about PC anymore is Dice(to an extent) and valve(complete PC devs) [editline]26th March 2011[/editline]
It seems like you only wanted to spend your $60 for an editor, advanced settings, and DX11.
Hmm? I heard BF3 won't have an editor. No actually it's principal. Crysis 2 was obviously made with consoles in mind more than PC. I'll buy it, but I don't think it's worth $60. For the record the only games I think are worth $60 are valve games. And valve sells their games for $50 or less. I'd only spend $60 on BF3 because it's a sequel to one of my all time favorite games.
I kind of wish they let you use some alien weapons, I mean: [sp]the suit is already able to interface with the alien tech it should be able to access the weapons.[/sp]
For anyone on thier second playthrough, are you able to collect Nanocatalyst?
I am. Were you able to carry over your previous save's nanosuit enhancements? I was for a few chapters, but then it glitched and I lost them.

Even MW2 had more advanced settings than this. Anyway I'll probably get it fron INTkeys unless someone finds a price cheaper than $29.99.
Just beat it, 6 hours on normal. Considering I rushed through most of it with armor on, and the leap in difficulty from normal to hardest, I can see that 10-12 hour figure.
Would having an outdated video card affect crashing or just major texture fuckups when playing?
I tend to get a massive fps drop randomly, even on Just Cause 2. No idea why.
yeah i got 12 hours on my first play through playing on the hardest difficulty
Oh I remembered what the sound was from. When you pick up the random stuff in this game it plays that creepy little piano melody that plays when you click stuff on the Bioshock main-menu.

Anyone else get the Modern Warefare feeling playing this game? :saddowns:
yeah i got 12 hours on my first play through playing on the hardest difficulty
I got 6 hours 44 minutes on Post-Human, but Steam says 7.4 hours. There was one section I rushed because it was the sixth or seventh time I died there and I started to get pissed, but other than that, I didn't feel like I was rushing, but neither did I really explore.
Oh well, no console port can surpass the terribleness of the PC version of resident evil 4. It was literally a straight port of the gamecube version and had the baffling feature of looking worse than said version.
yup, kinda sad that you have to download a third party tool to get a modicum of customizability
The only other setting one should change to get a better FPS if they can't run it decently on the highest setting would be Shaders. Other than that, there is no reason why you should need to do specifics on any of those options.
Anyone else get the Modern Warefare feeling playing this game? :saddowns:
Not at all actually. But thats just me, someone who plays alot of CoD 4, MW2 and Black Ops.

You know, the setting that has had the biggest FPS hit in every Crytek game released? [editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
I will laugh soo much if it comes out a "consolized game".
I'll kill someone. Luckily I don't buy a game until independant(non payed by game publishers) reviewers put out some reviews.
Whoops, yeah. Shaders, that's what I meant.
Well actually you were right about shadows too. I know in games with dynamic lighting the shadows can make cpu usage rise. I just thought maybe you were implying that shaders had less of a performance impact in Crysis 2.

I don't see why advanced graphics options are such a big deal on a game that any rig can run. If you are really having a hard time running this game, your PC is trash.
yup, kinda sad that you have to download a third party tool to get a modicum of customizability
Not really. All the tool does is modify the autoexec.cfg file, which you can do yourself.
Ok. So I just finished it. This has probably been said but I'm not reading 120 pages to find out. It's a big spoiler btw [sp]What the hell is with the reveal of Hargreaves? It was like a carbon copy of Mr House from New Vegas[/sp]
[sp]Crysis 2 has been in development since at least a year before New Vegas. I doubt that it's a copy, it's probably just a coincidence[/sp]
I don't see why advanced graphics options are such a big deal on a game that any rig can run. If you are really having a hard time running this game, your PC is trash.
wow that came across as pretty bigoted and shitheaded I think it's noticeably more demanding on max than Crysis was, but not incredibly so. I guess you won't be running it on integrated graphics even on low, but then again I guess no-one was expecting to. [editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
I will laugh soo much if it comes out a "consolized game".
All the gameplay footage thus far has been PC footage, so I have hope. That said, I am slightly cynical about them not releasing modding tools. A little voice in the corner of my brain keeps telling me it's because they want to make you pay for map packs, which kind of fits with EA's new business model.
Not really. All the tool does is modify the autoexec.cfg file, which you can do yourself.
We shouldn't have to. Should I feel bad that I laughed at this? http://h-6.abload.de/img/crysisbannerv78e.gif
