wow that came across as pretty bigoted and shitheaded I think it's noticeably more demanding on max than Crysis was, but not incredibly so. I guess you won't be running it on integrated graphics even on low, but then again I guess no-one was expecting to. [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] All the gameplay footage thus far has been PC footage, so I have hope. That said, I am slightly cynical about them not releasing modding tools. A little voice in the corner of my brain keeps telling me it's because they want to make you pay for map packs, which kind of fits with EA's new business model.
Everyone's business model more likely. Every dev and publisher nowadays seems to make a farm out of their work, milking their cows and adding water to the milk extracted for more easy profit.
Here's a little thing on what I feel about the openness of the single player campaign. Loved the campaign though, just a little disappointed. Crysis 2 isn't that linear in terms of killing/taking out an objective, but it's extremely linear compared to it's preprocessor. Back then, there was just an open terrain of fuck and you can do your mission as you see fit to plan. Whatever you did was your own plan, your own method, your own idea. In C2, it's just a small open pocket and equip your binocs and let the game tell you where you can go. Set predefined paths that lead to the same objective. IE: seeing an area marked as "stealth", or "ambush". It just doesn't feel as open as Crysis1 when the game literary tells you, you can only go here, here, and here. Where as the first game it was pretty much do as you please and come up with your own idea to get to the objective, so when completing something, you feel a lot more sense of accomplishment seeing as how you executed the plan that you came up with so efficiently, rather than just saying, okay I'm going to take the predetermined path of "stealth" or "snipe".
We shouldn't have to. Should I feel bad that I laughed at this? [img_thumb]http://h-6.abload.de/img/crysisbannerv78e.gif[/img_thumb]
The one who did that had so much butthurt that he even forgot the advanced options and the sandbox :v:
We shouldn't have to. Should I feel bad that I laughed at this? *lagging gif*
Can you scale this down or not have it be a gif, it's lagging me more than the game itself.
I hate how he's always like "DUDE, USE THE FUCKING BINOCS TO FIND OUT THAT YOU CAN SOLVE THIS SHIT IN 3 DIFFERENT WAYS THAT DON'T MATTER!". Yea cap. obvious, I'd do that shit myself if it was actually an open environment. And if we can't use C2 assets in SB3 when it comes out in summer i'm gonna fly home to germany, go to Crytek's office and punch them in the face.
Anyone else get the Modern Warefare feeling playing this game? :saddowns:
Playing the singleplayer? Shit no. Multiplayer? Definitely, and it's all the more sadder now that I have beaten the singleplayer. So many more creative things they could have done and they opt with Call of Duty: Future Warfare.
Can you scale this down or not have it be a gif, it's lagging me more than the game itself.
Works fine on my phone and my PC. Problem on your end buddy.
Works fine on my phone and my PC. Problem on your end buddy.
Weird, chrome is lagging to hell and almost crashing cause of that gif.

And some of them are damn useful, particularly the "Stealth", "Avoid", and "Snipe" ones. If you want to do your own thing you still can (I sure as hell did), but having the option to play it how the game wants you to, and be rewarded for it (Alternate paths, great sniper areas with good LOS) I think is a great feature.
I think I have a good theory as to where the missing 13th weapon attachment is. After I'm done finding all the collectables, I'm going to attempt Post-Human difficulty. I think by doing every single other thing in the game it might give you the missing attachment as a reward for getting 100%. Anyone else who wants to test this theory is welcome to it.
Weird, chrome is lagging to hell and almost crashing cause of that gif.
I'll just post it as a link then. Not fair that you can't read the thread well cuz of it.
That gif is perfect for it, if i could sell Crysis 2 i would but i bought it on fucking steam.
So you're saying I should preorder BF3 instead :P I found the image on HardOCP and I thought it was pretty funny too.
Does anyone know where to get pistol silencers in the campaign? I picked one up at some point, had to quit, came back and it autosaved before I got it. I went to the same location and it wasn't there.
So you're saying I should preorder BF3 instead :P I found the image on HardOCP and I thought it was pretty funny too.
It's your money. I had hopes for it, Crytek being Crytek i would imagine Mod support and level editor on release, but no. The cunts opted for no mods, no custom maps, Shitty MP, stupid graphic options, liner maps (I know most games are this, but crysis had the feeling of it being more open). so yes, Fuck off Crytek with your rushing games and shitty hitboxes on multiplayer, and i swear, IF BF3 is consolized i will loose all hope with game company's. So i can officially say i'm not going to by a game made by crytek again. And they took out the health bar, Armor mode does shit all "Oh another 1 bullet" headshots are instakill (Now if i remember correctly Headshots was not insta on Crysis's multiplayer) Power mode has barely any use, Cloak mode hasn't changed which is good.
FDR, when the bridge collapses the three soldiers have them.
That's the place I was talking about, when I reloaded my save none of them dropped silencers :ohdear: Luckily I am going to start another playthrough tomorrow :buddy:
The cunts opted for no mods, no custom maps, Shitty MP, stupid graphic options, liner maps (I know most games are this, but crysis had the feeling of it being more open)..
So... what's your opinion on the singleplayer gameplay aside from being a bit more linear?
Story is nice though the whole [sp]Hargreave turns on you[/sp] was sort of predictable. Level design, as i said is linear though the small bits of "Combat options" are nice at first then get tedious after the first half, they could have opened up more streets and pathways to make it feel bigger and give the player a feeling of freedom. And they should have not limited the console horribly.

What has hurt it though, is being a lazy port. I wouldn't be surprised if Crytek pull a Treyarch and 'forget' to release the editor, though what the point of that would be eludes me as it already got leaked, though considering the leaked editor is in a functioning state you have to consider why bother delaying it if it's working already?
I love the game so far, I'm glad I pre-ordered it (I felt bad that it got leaked). I find it amusing to me that the only 3 graphics options in the options menu where "High," "Very High," and "Extreme." It's also looks much nicer than Crysis & Crysis: Warhead did.

Now I'm fairly certain that the consoles are to blame as the leak was pretty much a 360 port, but they still don't hinder the PC version as Crytek were a good PC dev, if they release a patch that will support mods, Custom levels, brings the health bar back, and allows anyone to host a dedicated server, i'll forgive them. That said I'm rather optimistic about that.

Also, Crysis 1 had regenerating health, and so does 2, who cares if you can see it or not? It makes sense that it regenerates when you have a suit that can keep you living when you have a ruptured lung, heart, sternum, and spine.
I like to be able to see it, if it's not broken don't fix it, they removed it for no reason.
I like to be able to see it, if it's not broken don't fix it, they removed it for no reason.
I do agree though, if they don't release an editor for this or Crysis 3 I won't buy another Crytek game. Unless that game is like, so damn amazing that it gets 100 on metacritic and nobody rants about it. Keep your hopes up though, remember the time it took for Crysis Warhead to get an SDK?
That's the place I was talking about, when I reloaded my save none of them dropped silencers :ohdear: Luckily I am going to start another playthrough tomorrow :buddy:
If you want to hit two birds with one stone there is a Suppresed Nova w/ Laser sights on Sudden Impact. It's right after the Gunship crash sequence where you have to lift up the gate to get in the parking deck. The pistol is lying by a dead guy and an ammo crate.

Plus it probably causes major FPS loss. I don't see why people want to max out the game as much as possible when they know it probably isn't going to end up with at least 25 FPS.

So I was playing through the story and... I guess the explosive barrel was a bit much?
silenced pistol + cloak = best weapon in the game, since headshots kill in one shot and the silenced pistol only takes a little bit of energy while cloaked you're pretty much laughing
