How do you slide? There's nothing in the control scheme.
Shift + C C can be substituted for crouch key.
How do you slide? There's nothing in the control scheme.
Sprint and press/hold crouch. Default C.
I think I just unlocked "Crash Site" as a gamemode. But I could already play that... :ohdear:
I don't see why people snipe. Sniping is pretty terrible.
After finally being able to log in I must say it is a great improvement over the leak's MP. Sniper rifles are only good on Crash Site, (and in the demo, on Pier 7 or whatever it is), the TDM game mode focuses too much on run and gun for it to work well. The death animations are pretty good too, "Crotch shot!"
Hmm, how do I go prone and lean around corners?
After reading this thread throughout the day I expected the demo to end up being a horrifying mess but apart from the GameSpy issues, which was admittedly a big mistake on Crytek/EA's part, the game isn't half bad. It looks and sounds great, runs very smoothly, and a lot of fun can be had mixing up the suit powers. I think some of you in this thread need to get off your high horse about Crytek no longer bending over backwards to give you a reach around just because you're a PC gamer.
Still can't register or login with the account I already had. Wonderful demo experience thus far, Crytek. A straight 360 demo port that doesn't actually demonstrate anything PC-specific, nor has the infrastructure it needs because you expected PC gamers to remain completely disinterested anyways. And there are rumors there'll be NO Sandbox 3. I'll just save this money here. Glad I haven't preordered.
1. It would have probably taken until after release for a Crysis 2 demo if they made one from scratch for PC. 2. Why would there be no Sandbox 3 editor?

To be completely honest this doesn't feel like anything special. It's fun, but that's about it. I can't see myself playing it for long at all and with so many other games on the horizon I'd much rather wait for things like Brink rather than paying $60.
Hmm, how do I go prone and lean around corners?
Fuck that, nano suit solders don't cower on the floor and pray not to get shot at. Anyway, http://steamcommunity.com/id/errorproxy/screenshots Somewhere in there is Crysis screenshots.
I got one of those mystery things
Fuck fuck fuck. Still nothing on the issue of "Why the fuck won't the Demo run?" Tried MyCrysis forums. Nothing. Tried the Tech support. For Christs sake, Nothing. Tried here, someone offered advice, but it wasn't very much. I know some of you are decent people, and will try to help; SOME. Not ALL. So... Once more... "Failed to initialize GameStartup Interface"... Specs: Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Edition (Service Pack 2) Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5200 (Overclocked) @ 3.1 GHz AMD/ATI FirePro V3800 512MB DDR3 4GB RAM I realize scrolling down the list seeing my post is a bit irritating. I'm going to bed after/if I get this sorted out.
This was a BAD move on Crytek's part. Honestly, before today, Crysis 2 was a day 1 purchase as I LOVED Crysis 1 and Warhead. Now that MP is confirmed to SUCK, I don't want to pay $60 just to play through the campaign. I don't know if I am even gonna buy this anymore.. No vehicles, small maps, boring gameplay and gimped settings. I am looking more forward to Brink or maybe even Frontlines... something better than this.

Ummm.. yes... is a DEMO not to DEMOnstrate a game? "Oh sorry our demo was crap.. but I promise if you buy the full game in 20 days, it will be MUCH better!" With that kind of logic, we should buy every game despite the demo.

Plenty of demos have sucked, only to turn out that the full game was much better than the demo. This is especially true for Brutal Legend.

They're two maps, there are vehicle controls listed in the menu. I've no doubt the final game will be much bigger than the little glimpse we're getting. A demo is supposed to whet your appetite, to give you a little taste of the gameplay. Not to be a fucking entire portion of the game.

Who "confirmed" the demo to suck? I was unaware after playing it all day that it sucked.
Okay so I just disabled the mouse smoothing via command line as well as the FPS cap. I'm averaging ~90 FPS on Pier 17 with the minimum being about 73. On Skyline I'm averaging over 100 FPS and it never drops below 82 no matter what's going on, all with a GTX 570. It's ridiculously smooth and now I can actually aim and shit. I just have to say, I don't think I've had as much fun playing any game since L4D came out (which I put over 3,000 hours into and is the first game I went pro in and won money.) Crysis 2 doesn't have advanced settings for graphics. What the fuck Crytek.
Something REALLY good to know: Using the integrated binoculars (middle mouse button > up), you can tag people by left clicking on them with them. Just found that out.
Crysis 2 doesn't have advanced settings for graphics. What the fuck Crytek.
I'll make this one word very loud and clear for you: DEMO That wasn't so hard, now was it?
You can still criticize a demo for leaving out vital features, get over it
I'll make this one word very loud and clear for you: DEMO That wasn't so hard, now was it?
Amen. What most people don't realize is just how hard it is to make a stripped down demo. It's essentially a completely different build of the game that only shares similar code design to the final copy. It takes quite a bit of effort to develop even a basic demo as this.

2/8 and you win with all of the points... what the fuck.
2/8 and you win with all of the points... what the fuck.
lol its 2-0, the 0 just looks like an 8.
I love using a silenced sniper and silenced pistol. Just made a stealth class out of them. People don't seem to know how to get on the glass shack on top of the middle building, thus giving me a considerable advantage over the entire map. When I didn't have a silencer, every time I shot while up on my perch, everyone turned and started firing. Was not fun.
