holy sh... how the... i just played my first round... this game is so insanely good... i cant even... amazing [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] how do i turn off mouse acceleration though
Hey guys, maybe if yoou didn't hype up every big title you wouldn't be so massively dissapointed every month. Yes this demo is a console port, is that a problem? It's the same game and I hate to break it to you but a console game doesn't automatically suck or are unfiit to be played on a computer. Boohoo you're not allowed to fiddle wit the grapchics, who cares, you can in a month.. Boohoo, it's a CoD clone, yeah, what a shame, I guess you'd rather a Battleifeld clone, haven't had enough of those yet right? Can a fast paced shooter even get released now a days without being called a CoD clone?
I think that CoD is so broadly generic that nearly every FPS with unlocks can be called a CoD clone.
I think that CoD is so broadly generic that nearly every FPS with unlocks can be called a CoD clone.
It's more because Call of Duty 4 was first the game to feature that kind of unlock system where as you level up, you receive new perks and weapon attachments that you later equip in custom classes and a lot of multiplayer FPS games are using really similar systems to that. Crysis 2 is a perfect example of that.
and it tasted like shit i honestly cant see how you can find this fun its incredibly infuriating the controls are useless and you cant see anything
with the adjustments i've made, it's gone from a piece of shit to incredibly fun
it performs good until after a while it starts slowing down, going back to normal and then slowing down again every second. it's like your character goes in slow motion instead of skipping frames [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] I have a pair of 275 GT*something* I'm not using them in SLI mode
I don't like the multiplayer. I just don't find it fun. The controls and graphics are fine. It runs great and all but the gameplay is just not fun, killing someone especially is just not satisfying at all and doesn't make me want to continue playing. I guess I'll be getting this just for the singleplayer.
well i do wish this was more like crysis wars

I found Crysis 2 MP very enjoyable. With Power Jump and "Parkour" , maps feel a lot more 3D than in generic shooters. Cloaking gives you and your team more tactical options. Stuff like Air Stomp and Power Slide are just plain badass, even if they're a bit unreliable. Relatively unique gamemodes spice it up aswell. Crysis 2 MP is focusing on being more tactical and less tactic00l. Using correct suit modes at correct time and microing your suit energy gives you a huge advantage, simplest example of it is turning on armor mode when being ambushed 1v1 and winning just because your opponent used up all his energy or didn't turn his armor on. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] I always end up getting Energy Bunny award, because i use my suit energy constantly.
The demo rank limit needs to be raised, I can't even get all the demo weapon upgrade unlocks now because I'm already at level 10 and I already bought different unlocks that I didn't like. Not the mention that FUCKING bloom which I just now found out how to turn off. I don't think crytek tested this demo at all. Either that or they were all wearing sunglasses and playing 20 second matches.
Do what now? I'm at 10 and I have everything unlocked, I think. I might be missing a couple suppressors and one of the shitty suit powers though.

Crysis 2 seems really weak in this aspect. The ragdolls are stiff and unrealistic, there's basically no effects that show your bullets just contacted with someone's face, the animations when someone gets shot in the throat or balls are really weak (especially the transition from the animation to the ragdoll), and etc. It's just not satisfying at all when comparing it to something like bulletstorm.
you think bulletstorm has more realistic death animations? ahahahaha
you think bulletstorm has more realistic death animations? ahahahaha
he didn't say realistic he said satisfying eg FUN I can see what he means but personally once I got a decent framerate I really enjoyed it, I felt that the kills were just as satisfying as most games
you think bulletstorm has more realistic death animations? ahahahaha
I was referring to bulletstorm's gunplay as a whole (i don't even think it had death animations). It's so much more fun and satisfying killing someone in bulletstorm than it is in crysis 2 because bulletstorm actually got the physics and effects right. lol realism ≠ fun [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] maybe i should just play more. i haven't even reached rank 4 yet.

It hurts my internet pride. Anyway yeah you'd figure by now they'd have some awesome procedural behavior system like Rockstar has. That'd make it a lot more visually appealing. They do have the inverse kinematics and all of that other awesome shit that makes the animations look really good, but the blending to ragdolls is pretty terrible.
I suppose if all you play is blops, then yes, that's the conclusion you would come to.
Well I got to level 20 something in Modern Warfare when it was still new, but I've actually never played the new ones. Maybe I'm just too casual to understand the subtleties of clicking on people.
I haven't really been anticipating this game so the demo was a nice little treat for me to waste some time with. I found it enjoyable for a little while - waiting at the crash site and then doing stealth kills was fun - but seriously, it seems every game nowadays is trying to copy Call of Duty. Playing the same thing over and over again is going to get dull.. Oh well. I'll probably only get this game for the singleplayer anyway. I don't play MP much in games.

Use your head to figure it out, so when you manage to kill the person you'd feel like you achieved something because your idea or plan worked. It requires creativity. Maybe there are other reasons as of why you hate the crysis 2 mp demo or fps games?
Maybe there are other reasons as of why you hate the crysis 2 mp demo or fps games?
Is that directed at me? You may have misunderstood; I think the demo's great fun, like any other shooting game. And the only game I really 'hate' is world of warcraft. The intent of the post was to express my feeling that the game is just as satisfying as any other shooting game I've played.
so how do we go about turning off motion blur
I could barely run Crysis at high, but I can run this at max without any lag what-so-ever, seems weird.
gamespy u mother fucker let me in
I really didn't enjoy it. I spent about 2 hours with it and while it's nicely presented, it feels much too much like COD. The level design is too busy and I feel sick after playing it for a while. Will still be getting it for the single player.
This. Everything feels a little blurry, like you're playing at the wrong resolution or something.
Gamespy, ew. I have to agree with a lot of others here, maybe the demo was rushed but that really doesn't matter. I didn't like it. You could say things like this:
I think that CoD is so broadly generic that nearly every FPS with unlocks can be called a CoD clone.
But it isn't just the unlocks. The dogtags, the closed environment, upgrades, classes, custom classes and the list just keeps growing. It's everything, except the nanosuit abilities and the futuristic style nothing really sets it apart at all. I hope vehicle maps are released or at least showcased so i can see what I'm missing. Also the only renderer settings are V-Sync and Resolution. That hurt my soul.
Well, managed to get to LvL 10 last night so here is my opinion. Played this at eurogamer in October and outright stated it would be a terrible console port (simply due to the fact the PC version we played still had "Press Y to swap weapon" etc. The demo however isn't that bad a port, hell I enjoyed it and will probably buy it but still has some issues. Menu and friends system - This is slightly broken, some of the buttons don't link up with their clickable areas and friends invites are often lost (also no way to cancel requests sent to the wrong person) There is also the issue that my NAT setting is always shown as "moderate" despite my DMZ, makes some of the party connection issues difficult to sort - also no indicator of squad size max, think it should be 6 but we can never get more than 4 in. Also when joining a game as a party you are not put on the same team, this eliminates team play without you having to move to different channels in TS or whatever. Menu rotation is really off- putting for me at least. Controls - Ok so the controls are customisable, but things like sliding cause issues for me as I use control for crouch meaning awkward pinkie holding for the entirety of the slide. Only other issue is the sometimes random mouse acceleration, I use the DPI adjust on my mouse when sniping to tone down the speed and the acceleration freaks out at this. Gameplay - Hit detection looks irregular as hell in kill cam, and LMG is op but the majority of my issues come from the level design and suit powers combined with the gameplay theory. Crysis was always about options, however in crysis 2 those options have been streamlined this minimises your options but also dumbs down the play style. It just seems like the combat boils down to "did you save energy for armour for this corridor shootfest" the routes through the maps while often open funnel players into VERY close combat, this means punch 2 hit kills and random spam seem to be the weapon of the day. Gone are selectable fire modes (I reset the key and was disappointed for no tighter shotgun spread or single shot scar) Just feels disappointing when you can do so much cool stuff (slides stealth tricks hologram etc.) and you just end up with who is more accurate for this 2 second period of shooting within a 1 meter square. This all said it does have enough nice features that I will probably be getting this, teamplay works well (multiple decloaks around objectives and people is just amazing) and the kill reward system means to have to travel to the bodies to get your rewards so you can't just sit in the corner with a sniper rifle. There are so many features that show excellent design choices and game design theory which give me hope they will have a go at fixing this (and hell if they don't, it's time to get my mod on)
If anyone wants it, put these in your launch options: +g_SkipIntro 1 +cl_fov 70 +r_MotionBlur 0 +i_mouse_smooth 0 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov 70 Removes the intro, motion blur and fixes the issue some people had with the aiming. Also changes the FOV so it doesn't feel like your head's in a tube.
