The sniper is god-awful in close quarter, where as the SCAR is great. The Jackal can't hit anything that is further than 5 feet in front of it. Again, the SCAR is superior here. The LMG is heavy and bulky, the SCAR is light and swift. If you like the LMG because of its heavy damage, remember that a SCAR shot to the head is instakill.

I've said this all already.
god damnit lol.
Sorry to be a bastard, but if something is versatile, it is assumed that it is also good.
You know... since it can be used for a number of applications and scenarios.
Just because a gun isn't versatile, doesn't mean it's good either.

Yes, you did.
[editline]6th March 2011[/editline]
Well, not exactly, i gave some differing facts, but the point was the same.
Just because a gun isn't versatile, doesn't mean it's good either.
Yes, but since you used both in the same description, you were referring to the scar and didn't need to say it was good in addition to being versatile because the former's definition can be encompassed by that of the latter.
I'll stop with the semantics now.
The scar is too damn good. I keep wanting to use different weapons but everything is terrible against it.
I hope they at least tone down the damage or the fire rate for the full game.

I personally would have liked it if they allowed you to switch fire modes like in the 360 demo.

I also said that no other gun is. Saying that no other gun is versatile AND good. If i said that no other gun was versatile wouldn't have meant that they weren't good, and vice versa.
I personally would have liked it if they allowed you to switch fire modes like in the 360 demo.
Press 2.
I personally would have liked it if they allowed you to switch fire modes like in the 360 demo.
Seems really stupid how they left that out since it's a port.
They must have removed it intentionally.
Press 2.
That just switches to hologram mode.
(Or under-barrel-attachment)
I personally would have liked it if they allowed you to switch fire modes like in the 360 demo.
What were the fire modes? Semi-auto and automatic?
I like how the nanovision actually looks somewhat like real thermal vision, or at least looks good. Compared to the shitty thermal scopes in cod that give a crisp white silhouette against a grey background.
IIRC, The CoD thermal imaging doohickies are like the ones the real US military uses (except as far as I know, they only use said imaging on big planes like that one in CoD4). Nanovision is pretty much the thermal vision from the Predator Movies. Which is okay because Predator > CoD any time of the week.
The motherfucking water dispensers give of the same blue "heat" a cloaked guy does, so I always shoot them and reveal my position
If there's one thing I like more about the LMG than the scar is that I rarely ever have to reload. Although this does make me lazy and I tend to end up having to reload in the middle of shooting someone, and that doesn't turn out well
What were the fire modes? Semi-auto and automatic?
Yep.

Weapon Pro
I have to say though, the CoD features are way better on Crysis 2. It fits much better due to the Nanosuit and the timeline. Like those perks could be possible on the Nanosuit. Crysis 2 is the good CoD, just like CoD4.
The Jackal needs at least double the amount of shells in a clip to make it useful. Other than that it's an okay weapon.
Anyone else glad Crytek kept the old weapon models for the Marshall (pump shotgun) and for the DSG-1? I foresee myself going to nostalgia a little bit when I pick up the shotgun. Hell, that's probably the only reason why I ever touched the DSG-1 in multiplayer because I used it frequently in Crysis 1.
Someone on Kotaku thinks that Cryengine 3 is terrible because it can run better on most computers.

Well someone on Kotaku is clearly an idiot.
Wish I could get passed login and play this demo. :frown:
Guess I'll just have to wait for the full game.
what's the graphical difference between gamer, advanced and hardcore because I can't tell
All locked to the same settings.

What? Did I miss something or did you miss the point of his post?
(That is, if his point was to point out the fact that the demo's a 360 port to the people who didn't know)

He was making a joke at how the typical retard would react to it.
I like using pistols.
The reasons I am using the SCAR is.
-It's good.
-It's versatile.
No other gun is.
Agreed, although it seems rather hard to get kills with any gun unless you aim for the head.

Anyone up for a game?

Torso shots, even with their armor on doesn't really seem to give me any trouble.
