Don't fix what's not broken.
my god the motion blur is over the top
what's the difference between gamer advanced and hardcore I can't tell apart from a different FPS
what's the difference between gamer advanced and hardcore I can't tell apart from a different FPS
people are saying there's literally no difference at all but when i tried it i'm pretty sure the bloom wasn't as bad on gamer as it was on hardcore there didn't seem to much of a difference otherwise though so i don't really know
Really? When did portal get customizable classes, killstreaks, perks, and "realistic" two shots to kill gameplay? If you don't see the similarities between the changes in Crysis 2's multi and COD then you're blind. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] That's not only a gross oversimplification, but you haven't refuted any of my claims.
What claims? That some game has perks and killstreaks so that means it's a CoD clone? Did CoD copyright those? Should no other game ever use perks and killstreaks? OMG FALLOUT HAS PERKS, COD IS SUCH A FALLOUT CLONE (Joke, don't take seriously.)

My point is that the combination of changes between the previous installments in the Crysis series and Crysis 2 have made the game feel like COD. It's not that they've added one or more features, it's that they've changed the gameplay formula heavily in order to make it resemble COD. Adding classes, perks, or even killstreaks alone wouldn't have been a bad thing. Making minor changes like that is called refinement. However, they've copied all of those things and more. Rather than refine the gameplay, resulting in a similar game with a few new features thrown in, they've redefined it, in this case by throwing out their own game design philosophy and replacing it with that of COD's, presumably in order to make it more popular amongst console gamers. It's not the perks or killstreaks that make it COD clone, it's all of those features combined with COD's game design philosophy. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] Not sure why everyone's so adamant about Crysis 2 not being like COD anyway, it's practically a moot point. People who liked the demo described it as COD-like, so arguing that it isn't is pointless and wrong.
hardcore takes away about 10fps for me
the one thing I definitely didn't notice was a change in fps. whether it was gamer or hardcore my fps was really iffy, but it might've just been something else since i'm sure a 5850 should have been getting better fps than i was
That's the funny thing about CoD and opinions though. For people that like CoD, it's a positive, and vice versa. I can't speak as to why so many people suddenly despise CoD (though I am sure it has more to do with its popularity than any real objective problems with the game), but for me comparing a shooter to CoD means that it has tight gunplay and gives excellent feedback to the character during movement and combat. One of the biggest praises I can give a shooter is "Hey, this feels just like CoD".

I wouldn't, for instance, argue with a COD fan about how Halo is inherently better. Both games subscribe to different gameplay styles, so arguing over which one is actually better is pointless at best. I think the issue here is that we've got a series that's jumped from one gameplay style to the other. Naturally, fans of that style are going to be ok with it, and fans of the original are going to dislike it. The problem for fans of the original, however, is that the changes are official, meaning that it's unlikely for them to get another sequel that has what made the original fun for them. I dislike COD's gameplay style, but I wouldn't take COD away from it's fans. However, it seems that COD has taken the gameplay style of the Crysis series away from it's fans.
Yeah, the first time I played the demo I thought "what the fuck oh shit where what how" and I got so confused because of the level design.
I enjoyed the demo, haven't played any of the new CoD games but the demo swayed my opinion and I may buy the game.

No one plays instant action and even power struggle has degraded into camping at the prototype factory.
To be honest, there weren't enough fans of the Crysis MP to make it a viable multiplayer style. Now unless they suddenly change again with Crysis 3 (they won't), we'll never know for sure, because rather than attempt that they've simply copied something that has been shown to be more popular. Additionally, if it was so unsustainable, why associate this new game with it by putting it under the same name? Though I suppose the answer to that question is that they're trying to appeal to console gamers; people who hadn't played the first and so wouldn't make that association.

I hope the real game runs better running at 15-30fps, I can run Bad Company 2 at 30-40
i just hope ATI release a GOOD crossfire profile. the gtaiv.exe renaming thing kind of tells me how it SHOULD be running and if it doesn't run as well with the official crysis 2 profile i will be very sad :~(
Anyone up for a game?

The CoD community is as bad as the Bad Company community which is as bad as the Halo community which is as bad as the WoW community because all but the most tight-knit community sucks. Play the game with people you like if it bothers you so much.
how do i make my resolution change to 1360x768 on crysis 2 because it keeps staying in 800x600
how do i make my resolution change to 1360x768 on crysis 2 because it keeps staying in 800x600
Weird, I defaulted at 1360x768.
my game freezes up at the start (crytek screen) but I can still hear achieved with cryengine and shit this is the beta by the way [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] on 64 bit it works but everything in game is weird [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] plus the editor doesn't work
This game really looses its charm when I'm constantly getting insta-killed by the scar. None of my upgrades stay, which is horrible because I spend most of my time in stealth and when I have a massive fucking shadow next to me it's a dead giveaway. I've unlocked level 3 pretty much everything and I don't even get my level 2 upgrades. And headshots are so bullshit. If you're in a fight with someone, each of you have a chance to land a completely random headshot and get the kill. So if I'm pumping rounds into a guy, and he turns around and shoots once and gets a headshot, I loose. These are my only complaints about the game so far. Everything else is a ton of fun, and it plays very smoothly.

The FPS is horrid. I'm getting average only 25 and max is 35. Choppy as hell. And during gameplay, before an event started(like had to activate a switch or something), I can see CELL forces surrounding the perimeter around that particular area. They are like just standing there like a douchbag, and you can't hurt them. More like spawn location after you trigger an event. I hit the switch and all hell breaks loose.
transparent heads, messed up lighting, no textures why doesn't anyone else get this
I get no textures for the first 5 seconds of a game. But that is becuase my internet splutters when trying to joni a server.
The second Crysis 2 demo sucks
