So I caved in and bought this, even if I am just going to use the editor mostly.
I need some game engine to screw around in ysee
I hope you will be able to make maps like Skyline. For instance, I want to try and remake Highrise because it just looks flat out bad with the 2D background that it has in MW2.

I wonder how thorough the advanced graphic settings will be in the game. Eh, I guess there's nothing besides the normal ones?

Nvidia said on their website that there are only 3 graphics settings.
I'm planning on doing exactly what I did in crysis 1's editor
Making awesome plane/helicopter crashes
this time around I'll make a first person one and possibly make a documentary-esque machinima
who knows

you know when you hear that the girl you like just hooked up with your best friend, or you imagine turning in to the thing you hate
i just felt both of those feelings
i really hope that trackview lets you edit character poses and shit right there and then
that'd be ~dope~

Some people are still getting it and have given up at this point, but you might as well try again.

Well by the time you reach your 5000th request for a fix, the game will be out.
Login sure as hell isn't working with me.
how to fix leak
if you're freezing at the intro movies you'll probably freeze at all the cutscenes during the game so you're going to have to turn them off. go into the beta folder then to the GameCrysis2 folder and rename Videos.pak to Videos.pak1
make a system.cfg in your main beta folder and fill it with this:
sys_game_folder=GameCrysis2
sys_dll_game=CryGameCrysis2.dll
sys_user_folder=Crysis2
r_ShaderCompilerServer=127.0.0.1;127.0.0.1
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0
sys_flash = 1
sys_flash_debugdraw = 0
sys_flash_debuglog = 0
sys_flash_video_buffertime = 10
sys_flash_video_buffertime_loading = 10
sys_flash_video_soundvolume = 1
log_IncludeTime = 0
sys_languages = "english,french,spanish,german,turkish"
g_skipintro=1
con_restricted = 0
r_displayInfo = 1
g_enableInitialLoginScreen = 0 ; disable login screen at game startup
g_gamespy_loginUI = 0 ; disable multiplayer login screen
net_lanbrowser = 1 ; find LAN (local) matches instead of internet matches in multiplayer serverbrowser
net_initLobbyServiceToLan = 1 ; make LAN (local) lobbies instead of internet lobbies in multiplayer
s_SpeakerConfig = 2 ; stereo speaker configuration, if your sound is weird (like quiet voices)
cl_fov = 75
g_dlcPurchaseOverwrite = 1 ; "Cheat to unlock DLC content on PC without purchase" -Crytek
g_ignoreDLCRequirements = 1 ; shows servers in browser that run DLC you don't have
once you've done this and before you start the game up again, go to C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\Crysis2 (assuming you're on vista/7, would be similar on xp) and delete all folders in there. try starting it up and see how it goes
if you dig through the old thread (good luck) i remember someone posting some performance configs which might also help with the lighting problems you were getting
I'm seeing a lot of denial in this thread. Crysis 2 IS dumbed down, not streamlined. Don't you remember Crysis 1 and Warhead? I'm talking Battlefield 2-esque map sizes, full weapon customization, full nanosuit capabilities, flying vehicles, handheld nukes etc. And what do you get in Crysis 2? Gameplay similary to Call of Duty. For fucks sake, in Crysis 1 I used to ride on top of a VTOL while my friend slowly gained altitude.
I mean seriously, the moment I saw "PRESS ANY KEY TO BEGIN" on the title screen I knew what was coming. The gameplay is Call of Duty set in the future. I first entered a game and the first thing I noticed were the killstreaks of 3, 5, and 7 kills. When I killed somebody in the game, an all too familiar +50 sign came up. Not to mention the hilariously similar hit indicator. The character movement itself even FEELS like Call of Duty. The customization menu allows you to customize perks and gives a variety of sight and under barrel attachments for your guns; exactly like Call of Duty.
Now, I'm not saying that it isn't a good game, but the undeniable fact is that it smells rather COD-ish. Mass Effect 2 was streamlined, Crysis 2 is consolized.
hey man leave me to my denial okay
How many maps does Crysis 2 MP have?
I love the instrumental playing while the map is loading.
How many maps does Crysis 2 MP have?
Pretty sure there is twelve.
amount has 1 m
You guys need to have more faith in Crytek. I'm positive they won't disappoint us with the full game and I'm sure at least one person from their company is reading this thread and many other Crysis 2 demo discussion threads and taking notes on everything.
yeah, with a multiplayer with no modes bigger than 12 people already confirmed, im sure they wont disappoint!

killstreaks are a bad idea period, and the maps are too small. 30% of the time i spawn right next to an enemy.

What exactly is the problem with 6v6? If the gameplay and maps permit it, it will work well.

huh wonder why, maybe because it's 6v6
Actually the parking garage map looks huge. I feel like I will be spending a while to find other players there.

Aight, that sounds indeed awful.
What about the single player campaign? Crysis 1 was pretty badass as a shooter till the aliens popped up.
people are really bad

I see it's all about CoD-like multiplayer... I feared that.
Is at least the single player campaign anything like Crysis 1? I really enjoyed it before the aliens popped up and it all became more arcade like and uninspired.

It's not awful unless you got your panties in a bunch and like to jump to conclusions for the "sake of the PC gaming master race".
Or unless you've literally played CoD for hundreds of hours to the point where the mention of the word CoD sends you into convultion.
Though I must say I'm pretty tired of playing against people who use that damn auto aim oversight.
Pretty annoying when your entire team gets slaughtered by 1-2 people who always kill within 2 hits dead on from across the map thanks to their little friend the xbox 360 controller being plugged in while they use the K+M
