There are no ifs, in Crysis 1 the suit was superthin and it looked much better than this bulky shit we are stuck with now.

The chest area is thicker as it houses the main power(main power is in the back) and thicker amounts of the materials that the suit is made of. This allows it to ripple and not be directly stuck to the user. The arms and legs are the main form fitting parts, the head and chest are not as that would be an extremely dumb idea with vital organs inside.

If I can find it Ill post it but the chest also houses a thick layer of plated nanotubes to protect the ribs. There is a video/image that describes all this. Crysis 2 is just a big step back

Edited my post and no its not. The suit in Crysis 2 looks like some sort of predecessor to the suit in Crysis, funny how the game is supposed to take place a few years after.

I think it's just suited for different environments. The nanosuit in Crysis is more of a recon suit, so it's thinner and less bulky, while the suit in Crysis 2 is meant for direct combat.

can't remember what happens at that bit but you might also freeze when graphics come up on the screen like fancy huds and stuff (normally in those first person cutscenes). you'd be able to use the console to check what files are causing the freezes and rename the files like you did with videos.pak, but i could never be bothered to find them so i just hammered the spacebar whenever one of those moments came up and it should just skip it

Personally, it's kinda hard to tell because those suits has almost the same function. The 1st one looks cooler and the guy looks taller. And I missed the super speed ability. The 2nd one doesn't have super speed but definitely has better technology. I like the suit customization and the nanovision. Looks like real thermal vision. It's freakin cool. But about the looks.....the guy kinda looks like an ape,doesn't it? That's just my opinion.

I don't like CoD, but that's beyond the point; all I want to know is if the single player experience is anything like the first one. I'm not bashing anyone for their tastes... I just want to know if this is crysis and not "just another shooter".

I look at the old one, and seriously. There is absolutely no way a person can fit inside of that. The Nanosuit 2 is virtually the same, but with extra beef to all of it, making it more sensical that a person fits snug within it.
Nanosuit 1 is about the exact proportions of a man's own body. That's why it looks nicer to you, it resembles a real man.
The Nanosuit 2, does not, because it's like wearing some other dude's totally malformed muscles. But it does make sense that a person fits inside it, everything is in the same position, it's just caked on top more.
Nanosuit 2 looks a lot more intimidating. Whereas the first one looks extremely scrawny and almost comical how someone could fit in there. No wonder it hurt Psycho so much when Colonel Lee was using the suit calibrator on him.

It plays how you would imagine Crysis would play. You observe the situation from a safe distance most likely in cloak with binoculars, figure out which path to take, and how you're going to execute it. At least that's what I got out of the leaked footage. Of course there's going to be sequences where you don't have time to figure out a battle plan and you will probably end up just shooting everything without thinking.
If you didn't like the aliens in Crysis 1 then I think you will like the ones in Crysis 2 because they're bipedal and not floating, ice spewing assholes.
THe MP demo is god damn awesome.
