So I stopped playing with the Scar since it's boring and takes no skill. Back to the sniper/pistol combo, and suddenly I am having much more fun playing again. Plus for some reason I am doing a damn good job with it (not that I was terrible at it before, but I seem to be doing better now).
I think that might have to do with the fact that headshot hitboxes are probably giant (as are the crotch shot ones).
Just had a go at the PC Demo. Sound won't work. Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this? Either that or I'll just wait until release.
I look at the old one, and seriously. There is absolutely no way a person can fit inside of that. The Nanosuit 2 is virtually the same, but with extra beef to all of it, making it more sensical that a person fits snug within it.
Nanosuit 1 is about the exact proportions of a man's own body. That's why it looks nicer to you, it resembles a real man.
The Nanosuit 2, does not, because it's like wearing some other dude's totally malformed muscles. But it does make sense that a person fits inside it, everything is in the same position, it's just caked on top more.
Pretty sure each suit is form-fit to the person wearing it, hence the suit calibrator, which is why it looks like that. The first nanosuit is extremely thin.
Extremely is an understatement.
The suit in Crysis 2 drains energy faster and its bulky as can be.
Pretty shitty tech
Crysis 1 is the superior suit from the superior game. At least in that game there were more suit abilities.

New suit looks like there's actually a person inside
Old suit is cooler
Anyone else stuck when trying to launch the demo on Steam? It just starts and closes the "starting up Crysis 2 Demo..." window indefinitely.
N1's basically a thick jacket and cargo pants thick layer while N2's more like a proper armour.

I always felt like the Korean nanosuit was the best. It had camo coloring and all, plus the vest and shoulderpads.
I'm seeing a lot of denial in this thread. Crysis 2 IS dumbed down, not streamlined. Don't you remember Crysis 1 and Warhead? I'm talking Battlefield 2-esque map sizes, full weapon customization, full nanosuit capabilities, flying vehicles, handheld nukes etc. And what do you get in Crysis 2? Gameplay similary to Call of Duty. For fucks sake, in Crysis 1 I used to ride on top of a VTOL while my friend slowly gained altitude.
I mean seriously, the moment I saw "PRESS ANY KEY TO BEGIN" on the title screen I knew what was coming. The gameplay is Call of Duty set in the future. I first entered a game and the first thing I noticed were the killstreaks of 3, 5, and 7 kills. When I killed somebody in the game, an all too familiar +50 sign came up. Not to mention the hilariously similar hit indicator. The character movement itself even FEELS like Call of Duty. The customization menu allows you to customize perks and gives a variety of sight and under barrel attachments for your guns; exactly like Call of Duty.
Now, I'm not saying that it isn't a good game, but the undeniable fact is that it smells rather COD-ish. Mass Effect 2 was streamlined, Crysis 2 is consolized.
Funny thing actually.
When you see something from other games being used in another game, people go right away saying "ah its copying X" and just diss it for that.
Even funnier when people judge a game by the demo alone like EVERYONE is doing, despite the fact that the "press start" screen CLEARLY mentions that this isnt the finished game, and that ALOT of things are missing. Hence the name demo.
What is starting to piss me off is that everyone mentions anything about Crysis as being a copy of CoD. For fuck sakes, stop mentioning CoD! For starters, this game at least seems to be ALOT better then the last 2 CoDs that were released and seems to be as good (or even better) then CoD4.
By all your logic, every game is CoD in the future/present/past. Custom classes? CoD! Weapons handling like the ones in CoD? CoD! Killstreaks? CoD! Small maps? CoD!
I'll give you that, killstreaks do remember me of CoD, and I have no idea why did they put them in to be honest, but their a nice touch, and if youre gonna diss the whole game for that, especially when this game what seems to be a flawless killstreak system that doesn't rewards campers and retards.
The small maps are actually alot better IMO, as you don't have to run around a whole match to find someone to kill or because you have less chances of getting your ass handed to you from miles and miles away from someone hidden behind a bush.
Now, the rest, like the +exp sign, the hit indicator, the character movement (what) and the customization is just you overreacting ALOT.
What the hell do you want? A Buy screen like in Counter Strike to start with shit everytime you lose? A spawn system like in UT/Quake games to have people camp for something the whole time?
Do you want your character to move like a sack of bricks? (heh)
Fuck sakes, the movement looks perfectly fine.
Everything I see in your post, makes me jump to the conclusion that you have the last 2 CoD titles rammed in a certain place and that you are traumatized with it.

All of those aspects were popularized by CoD and as such other shooters are copying the features from it to appeal to the same fanbase.

Sniper rifle.
What you're seeing in the killcam isn't what the player that killed you is seeing.

Again, the problem isn't that they've copied this or that feature, it's that they've scrapped everything they had before and copied COD's gameplay style. If they'd made a brand new series that played similar to COD you would likely still get a few whiners, but honestly it wouldn't be near as bad. This is because the first Crysis games have accrued a fanbase that has certain expectations from the franchise. When you put the name "Crysis" on the box you're telling people that this game is like the others. Not the same game, mind you, but similar enough gameplay-wise to justify putting them in the same series. Combine those expectations with massive gameplay changes designed to make the game feel like a certain other highly popular game and you have enough to disappoint many a fan.
Also, I think it's funny you should mention movement. My character did move like a sack of bricks when he wasn't running, which wasn't very long because either the suit's energy ran out or I got shot.
i just entered the FC2 editor god damn that shit is not worthy
I hope the SP in Crysis 2 is like the one in Crysis 1, but I am very glad that the MP is very different. The MP in Crysis was boring as shit. The maps were way too large, looked like shit and the spawning was horrible at best.

I used that once, it was fun because I could just let my imagination flow without limits on speed or technology. I use Hammer mostly, but it was some fun experimentation.
